Kauai Babysitting Company was recommended to us by my sister-in-law, who had used them on her previous trips. I called on Monday to arrange a sitter for Thursday night, and received a confirmation text within a few minutes after speaking to Heather, giving us the sitter's name, hours arranged, and price. Ashley arrived right on time, and brought a huge bag of blocks and a duffle bag with other toys and goodies in it for our 2 year old. She sat down with our little man and got him to start building a road while she asked us about him (allergies, bedtime routines, etc.). When my husband and I were ready to leave, our little one could barely tear himself away to say goodbye. When we arrived back that evening, Ashley had a piece of paper filled out that outlined how the night had gone. In the span of 2.5 hours before he went to bed, they had built and played with blocks and cars, created 3 art masterpieces, including a lei, and had read a number of books. We had a last minute babysitting request over the weekend and a holiday and Maile responded within one hour of my request. Amazing! She let us know Aleta would be coming over to our rental house to watch our toddler so we could go out to dinner. Aleta and I exchanged a few text messages to confirm address and arrival time. Despite the power going out at the house earlier in the day Aleta wasn't phased one bit and just rolled with it. Our toddler loved her immediately and they had a great night -- she had zero trouble with bedtime which impressed us even more! We just returned from Kauai and had an amazing experience with Kauai Babysitting. Mary was our babysitter. My 2 and a half year old loved her. She brought toys for him to play with and she said they just chatted and had a grand old time. He was very comfortable with her and it allowed my husband and I to get some alone time!!! Michelle from Kauai Babysitting was so easy to work with and a great communicator. We stayed half the time on the north and half the time on the south and she made sure we would have the same babysitter for both times we had requested (even though our location had changed). Like most of the other commenters, we were pretty nervous about leaving our kids with a stranger without any personal references, but those nerves were gone within a few minutes of talking to the sweet, personable and obviously kid-loving Michelle. I was worried about hiring a babysitter that we haven't met but as soon as I met Ms Birdie, my worries were put to rest. She took good care of my two (a 5 yr old and an 8 mo old). She was able to get the older one to feel at ease with her (it takes him a while to warm up) and by the end of the night, has him talking to her non stop. She took pics of the two and sent me texts on how they are doing. Sadly we thought the babysitter did a mediocre job. This company was recommended to us by our hotel we were staying at. (Westin in Princeville) I checked out the website and read reviews and it sounded great. I called and spoke to the owner Maile. She was very nice and professional. She was also very accommodating about our last minute time change since we were unable to get a reservation. Maile informed me that our sitter Lorelai would be coming with a "bag of tricks" to help entertain the kids. Other reviews I read on the website said their sitters came with one, ours did not. I thought, ok that's fine, we had a couple games and several books. Maybe she could teach them a new game or something. She asked if the kids could watch tv. My husband said that he didn't care, but I wasn't thrilled about it. We were paying a total of $27 per hour for 3 hours for her to be there. Whatever, as long as they are safe and happy that's what's important. After the sitter left, my son said that the whole time he was bored and liked our sitter Amy better. My boys are 7 years old and 22 month. Next time I will go the the kids club and ask an employee there if they could babysit. read more

This was an unbelievably great experience. Our babysitter, Char was SO GOOD!!!! We have a 1.5 year old and a 4 year old and she brought toys and games (and craft supplies). We used her for over 40 hours in total on our trip and our kids just adored her and her energy. I felt COMPLETELY confident leaving them in her care. Couldn't recommend this company or Char enough. We were there on vacation in June. My group of older children went on the back canyon tour and Birdie came to watch my little man. She was amazing! Took photos and time stamped them so I knew what and how he was doing the entire time we were gone. She took him to feed the fish in our resort and also to the beach. I felt safe with her watching my son. She was very sweet and my son adapted very well to her. It is now November and she texted me a happy birthday message to my son! He turned 3 last Thursday! We used Kauai Babysitting Company three times over our week long trip to Kauai and couldn't be happier. I contacted Michelle a few weeks ahead of time to reserve a sitter for the dates/times we wanted. She arranged it such that we had the same sitter (Patti) for our entire stay, despite the fact that we changed locations half way through the week. Patti was great with our 7 month old son and took wonderful care of him. She was kind, approachable, and kept in touch while we were away. She put us at ease. We absolutely loved this service and our subsequent date nights! What a gem Ahlea is...our family travels 3-4 months a year. We spent a week in Kauai at the Westin Princeville, and during our stay we wanted a babysitter for our 2 and 5 year olds so we could go on a helicopter ride and just some adult. After finding and contacting Kauai Babysitting Co, we instantly felt at ease with both the woman in charge and with our babysitter, Shannon. Shannon showed up with toys, games, and an enthusiastic attitude, making both my wife and me very at ease. What really made us feel good was the next day when our kids both wanted Shannon to return (always a good sign). She came again, bearing even more games, two of which were very educational for each of my kids. I actually got a peek into how she is with the kids when we arrived early and watched her swimming with them in the keiki pool. It was obvious to me that her enthusiasm never waned, and neither did her caring attitude. We are in Kauai on a fabulous 10 day vacation with 2 families and 3 kids aged 17 months, 3.5 and 4.5. Rebekah came over very early so the grown ups could have a day of ziplining. We used Kauai Babysitting recently when we were on Kauai for a month with our 6 and 3 year old. After a 12 hour flight from the east coast and several days of dealing with jet lagged children, we were desperate for an adults night out. KBC was able to accommodate our last minute request for a sitter the following evening. After we got off the phone, they texted to confirm the appointment. Shortly after that, we were texted by our assigned sitter, Michelle, again to confirm. Michelle was wonderful, and put our children and us at ease right away. She was warm, reliable, and very experienced with children. The kids loved her and were eager for her to return, and we ended up using her services again during our stay. She was always prompt and came prepared with fun activities for the kids. She was great about communication, and even emailed us her personal recommendations for activities and dining on the island. We were hesitant at first to use an unknown sitter, but the company and the caliber of sitter they provided put us completely at ease. We had Sydney watch our 21 month twice while on Kauai. Sydney was fantastic! We were a little nervous because our son tends to be shy. Sydney arrived with more toys and activities that you could imagine. She won our baby's confidence almost instantly and we snuck away easily. She texted us updates with pictures every 30 mins or so. Our son just loved her and kept asking for her the next day. We left him with Sydney a second time for almost 8 hours. She did all sorts of games and took him for a walk. KBC is AMAZING!!! We could not have been more satisfied with them. Let me start with Maile. We contacted Maile's company about 3 weeks before our trip. She was so professional and pleasant. She set my mind at ease as I was clearly a little nervous about using a babysitting service. She answered all of my questions and quickly followed up with me anytime I thought of a new question. I can see why her business is successful. Now onto Sydney... She was on time, prepared, and honestly the best babysitter ever. We used Sydney for 2 days while we were in Kauai. My 2 1/2 year old son Mickey has not stop talking about her since. She even gave him a plastic egg that he plays with and says "Sydney gave me this egg... It's a baseball egg". It is seriously adorable. She was energetic and fun. They had a blast. Then when we got home she would go over everything they did (games, eating, sleeping, etc.). She also sent us pictures several times throughout the day which was so awesome because it helped me enjoy my activities (otherwise I may have spent the whole day missing him and wondering what he was doing). Our hotel recommended that we call Kauai Babysitting Company in order to plan a couple of nights out during our recent trip to the island (Nov. 2014). We were so pleased with Maile and the kids LOVED having her come look after them for two nights during our trip. I was very hesitant to hire a stranger to watch our 13 month old while my husband and I went on a Napali Coast boat tour, but after talking to them and reading the reviews I'm so glad we did. I stay at home with my baby so she is very attached to me and only family babysits her but we ended up having a great baby-free day and I think she enjoyed a day with someone new too! Andrea was our sitter and she showed up about 10 minutes early which was nice to have extra time to go over instructions and for our daughter to get comfortable with her. She was very thorough with her questions and she sent us picture updates throughout the day. When we got back I scooped her up thinking she would be happy to see me (and she was) but she wanted to go back to Andrea and keep playing! My husband and I treated ourselves to an evening out while staying in Princeville and were not only comfortable and pleased with the attention to detail that Shannon showed, but our 5-year-old daughter notes the time as one of the highlights of our vacation! Shannon arrived on time and immediately set me at ease with her pleasant and professional demeanor, insightful questions, and positive interaction with our daughter. We went to Kauai for our 15 year wedding anniversary and hired a sitter from this group. Brooke was EXCELLENT! My 8 year old special needs son loved her--said she was the best part of the trip. Brooke was upbeat, fun and brought some super fun toys with her. She engaged wonderfully with my son and we felt very comfortable with her staying with our child while we went out for a much needed adult night out! Wow what can be said about these guys. First off I was so busy when first arrived that I kept missing Maile playing phone tag if you will. We hooked up after little effort and she made a family profile even though the first sitting experience was only for one of my kids and she said it was to make it easier later if we wanted more sitting while on the island. It did we are able just to text her and it is set up with out thinking twice. Another thing I liked was that she try's to get the same sitter every time you need them so the kiddos real more comfortable. We had Andrea and from what I saw she did amazing. My son was asleep by 9 when we returned which was yet to have happened on this trip. Andrea also had toys upon toys for my 15 month old and for my 5 year old.
