We recently went to Kaufman Tavern for a company Christmas dinner, and I will absolutely be going back! From the beautiful Christmas decorations to the delicious food, I highly recommend checking this place out. We started off with drinks from their seasonal cocktail menu and had the Crispy Calamari and Crawfish Dip, both were excellent. I ordered the halibut, which was perfectly cooked, and the Brussels sprouts and fingerling potatoes were roasted to perfection. Several people at our table ordered the steak and said that it was delicious. Our waitress was attentive and friendly and offered great recommendations. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals, and the festive holiday atmosphere was perfect for this time of year!

Always have a great experience here! Servers are always knowledgeable and fast, draft beer list is incredible and includes some local brews, and food is outstanding! Great happy hour in the bar too. If you come in the summer, the outdoor patio is the place to eat - if you can snag a spot!

The espresso rubbed filet mignon won me over. I hate coffee and anything coffee flavored, so ordering that was a big risk, but I was REALLY in the mood for steak. Our waitress convinced me to try it and she wasn't wrong. She also helped me decide to get the white chocolate pumpkin spice martini as a starter. I was in a weird mood that night. I thoroughly enjoyed my shrimp bisque and shared a few appetizers from everyone's plates. I loved the calamari and that crawfish dip. I was here for a big family dinner with friends and not a single person said anything negative about what they ordered all night. Our waitress did a great job keeping up and I wish I wrote her name down so I could give extra kudos to her, but she's getting married soon so if she looks at these reviews, she'll know who she is. I really enjoyed the old timey decor and the fact that this hotel-turned-restaurant is steeped in history. It's a clean and classy time capsule, but also a bit on the loud side (volume-wise). Honestly, the only thing that would've made this whole experience more perfect is if they put French Onion Soup on the menu. And if they laid off the mushrooms. There are too many tasty sounding things with mushrooms on the menu I can't eat. (That's just me being selfish. Sorry.)

We had an absolutely lovely dining experience here with another couple. The food was superb and the service great. The crawfish dip with crispy pita chips was really tasty and satisfying without being too spicy. We loved the pork chop and halibut entrees too. Fantastic meal.

I went to Kaufman Tavern for a bridal shower over the weekend, and I will absolutely be going back to try their menu independently sometime. The event space in which the bridal shower was held was beautiful, from the wainscoting, to the herringbone floors, to the antique mirror over the fireplace. Though our servers weren't the most attentive (we didn't get refills until the main course was served), the food was very well done. The crostini's toppings were fresh and tangy, the salad was fresh, and the rice and corn with the creamy sauce (not pictured) was delicious. The star of the show was the steak. It was perfectly cooked and cut like butter, and the accompanying sauce was a great pairing that didn't take too much away from the steak itself. The potatoes served with the steak were also very good. We had a very simple dessert of vanilla ice cream with pirouette cookies, and it was a lovely way to end our meals. If all the food at KT is this good, you are in for a treat. I definitely want to head back and try more!

This is a gorgeous tavern as the decor is superb. It's currently decorated for the holidays and my friends and I loved it. A group of us went here for and the server was amazing and very personable. I got the fish sandwich with fries and the fish sandwich was large and delicious. I got a sangria to drink and I would order it again, or go there solely for that drink as it was delightful. It was a good vibe and the food was good for all of us in my party. I would recommend this tavern if you are looking for dinner or want to enjoy a drink to end the night.

After church I was hungry so decided to try Kaufman Tavern and so glad I did. I stepped into a lovely historical building with a grand bar and numerous seating areas. I loved the ambiance, pictures, mirrors, wallpaper, etc. The lady bartender greeted me and helped me select my breakfast I chose the full meat omelet, potatoes and bacon. The coffee was delicious! and she kept it filled for me! The meal arrived very quickly and it was HUGE 4 egg omelet -- almost everyone left with a 'to-go' container as the portion sizes are very large. The bacon was crispy and delicious!!! and the omelet was hot and flavorful adn the potatoes wonderfully crisp. I truly enjoyed my breakfast and the atmosphere. I especially loved the old-fashioned toilet - it was clean and spacious. I highly recommend you stop in for breakfast - though the lunch and dinner menu looked enticing as well...

Love sitting at the bar here for late lunch/early dinner after work. Teri the bartender is great. You can taste beers before deciding what you might like, and they have a large rotating selection, including lots of local taps. Their espresso martini is quite yummy. My favorites on the menu are the mushroom Swiss burger, the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, the skirt steak poutine... And their house made soups. But really you can't go wrong with most selections and I've honestly never had a bad meal here and I have been coming ever since they opened (we used to go here when it was the Kaufman House under different owners before there was a fire, and it was closed for a long time). It's housed in a historic building and they kept the renovations true to what the restaurant looked like before there was a kitchen fire. In the summertime, there are usually a few tables out front on the sidewalk and then there is also a back patio. If you go around the corner, you can park in a free lot behind the restaurant, which is nice. Lolev Brewing faces the back lot too.

I love this place! I've never had a bad meal, and their bar area is one of my favorite places to hang out. Not pictured, but the Italian bread and the olive tapenade were fantastic. The briny olive mixed with luscious olive oil made for a great bite. Also, the smoked wings are a must! Buffalo sauce had great heat. The star of the show was my smoked salmon burger. The smoked flavor gave lox vibes, but it was a hearty amount of salmon. The richness was balanced perfectly with the onion and arugula. My side salad was fresh and had a great pop of acid. I must have been craving carbs and ripped a piece of my bun off in the pic... the bun was good and fresh, too! Washed it down with a Merlot. I will be back soon!

One our favorite date spots. The food is always exceptional. Don't pass on the crawfish dip, order extra pita! The salmon is a mainstay for lent season. The staff is attentive and warm. Make sure to stop in if you're near charming Zelienople, you won't regret it!

Their lent menu is a little more trimmed down than their regular food truck menu I have seen before. I got the fish sandwich, hush puppies, and a large side of lobster mac and cheese. It was a little pricey, $31. The lobster mac and cheese was as much as the sandwich for a container the size of a to-go soup bowl which seemed like a little much. There weren't that many lobster pieces for the price, like 3 or 4 decent-sized chunks, and the mac and cheese itself was pretty bland. The fish sandwich was the best part but I still wasn't wow-ed; I was also charged $1 for one slice of american cheese. I'm fine with paying extra for things, that just seemed excessive. The hush puppies and fries were clearly just frozen, and the fries were cold. Nice double date! 3 out of 4 of us got multiple drinks and we were enjoying our dinner. We got dessert too. The manager checked on us once. We probably stayed about 20ish minutes after desert while talking and finishing drinks. We got up and used the restroom, and saw the mgr in there. We heard her say that our table "finally decided to leave." Very unprofessional when you are sharing the same restroom as customers to then be talking about them. I'd say the same thing had she not been talking about us but another table. I have 20+ years in the hospitality industry and that rubbed me the wrong way. Food wasn't good enough to come back, so this is a place that relies on ambience and service, which we'd come back for if the service were great...be hospitable. The server was knowledgeable and kind; it's too bad the manager couldn't keep her thoughts about well paying, well tipping customers to an area where customers couldn't overhear.

We visited on Father's Day, a bit later in the day. Our server, Anthony, prefaced our ordering with the fact that they've served over 1,000 people that day and some of their items were unfortunately out - like the spaetzles, schnitzels and a few of their popular sandwiches. He shared and went over the large beer, cocktails and drink menu too (which includes mocktails for $5 or so!). To share, we ordered the Giant Bavarian Brezeln (served with North Country Black Bear Mustard and beer cheese) and the crab cake. Both were tasty! The crab cake was full of lots of crab and little breading; the pretzel was perfect and so good with the mustard. For our main dishes, we ordered the Norwegian Salmon with a side salad and mashed potatoes, Roasted Beet salad with chicken (fresh arugula, sweet beets and savory with huge pieces of chicken), Steak salad and kids burger. If I had to choose a favorite out of the few, I'd say the steak salad would be an excellent choice but the others are just as flavorful.. it truly depends on your taste buds. I like how big their menu is, all the side options available plus the endless selection of dressings for your salad. For the little ones, the burger was pretty big and the fries dusted with whatever seasoning is on them were amazing. Everything tasted fresh, looked well prepared and presented and was oh so good. Anthony was on it and very kind and quick to check on us throughout the meal. A historic and popular spot, with plenty of indoor seating at tables and the bar, plus an outdoor patio and bar too. Kid friendly as they can run and play around in the grass area in front of the restaurant. Highly recommend if out for a family day or a late night with friends with beer in hand.

The restaurant is located in an old bank building and the ambiance here is lovely. We chose the 5 course for two which is chef selected. It did not disappoint. We started with the polenta fries with the tomato basil aioli dipping sauce. The fries were hot, crispy and loaded with flavor. The sauce gave them a nice punch of flavor and was a nice addition. Next, we had the green goddess which included shaved asparagus and snow peas with mixed greens which was a lovely departure from your run of the mill Green Goddess. The lemon zest and ricotta balanced each other nicely. Next was the porchetta genovese pizza. Delicious! The olive oil flavor from the pesto sauce was stellar. We each had a slice and took the four remaining slices home so we could finish the two additional courses to come. Next, the Mafalda Cacciatore, a braised rabbit ragu. The meat was moist and the homemade pasta is the stuff dreams are made of. We finished our dinner with the tiramisu. Left to my own devices, I wouldn't have chosen tiramisu, so I'm happy it was chef's choice. This tiramisu was head and shoulders above all past tiramisu's I've eaten. The ladyfingers were moist without being soggy, the coffee flavor was strong without being overwhelming and the zabione was creamy deliciousness. I'm going to dream about this dessert. I just know it. Our server was Natalie and she has truly perfected the art of her craft. She timed our meal beautifully, described each dish she delivered, and answered our questions.
