The interior isn't too big but they do have seats with tables. They also have a large selection of icecream tubs as well, milk, cheese, snacks and merch. One thing I would note, is that depending on the worker, the size of the ice cream varies. Nonetheless, the baby size feels more than enough to me personally. Although their ice cream is delicious there is area of improvement for efficiency and customer satisfaction. The serving sizes are generous, got the baby size which is a little bigger than a softball. They did not allow two flavours which is disappointing as I can clearly see they have 30+ flavours to choose from. For two flavours you have to get small or huge. That is a ridiculous amount of ice cream to eat to just be able to enjoy two flavours for a more enjoyable palette. I think they may benefit from having customers pay first and then get their ice cream. Customers who had ice cream cones had to wait in line to pay and their ice cream was melting and dripping onto the floor which made it sticky. Biggest portions ever & so many flavours! You can't go to Newmarket and not get Kawartha's ice cream, when you know their store is located there. Parking is a tight one, small area and lots of cars. They also have a drive through that's so convenient but lines are long and goes out of the lot onto the road with cars waiting to get in. Going into the shop there's lots of seating, lots of fridge space that holds milk, ice cream, cheese, butter and other dairy products. But the star of the show is definitely the line up to get scoops of ice cream! There's A LOT of flavours to choose from and they have sizes of baby, small and huge. I opted for the small chocolate chip cookie dough and cherry thunder and was blown away by the portion sizing. It was HUGE! It's big enough to share with 3 people in my opinion and it was so creamy and delicious, as all Kawartha ice cream is. It's quite reasonably priced and bang for your buck. I recently came across this ice cream shop and I'm so glad I did! The ice cream was great and i found it interesting that they offered so many different items inside the ice cream shop like varieties of products (milk,cream, chocolate milk, pre-packs, cheese/meat). They also have a drive thru window which is nice! All the workers were really kind and the I love how big the serving size was per scoop! I find other ice cream shops to be ungenerous about little things like extra cups/spoons/serving size but this place is not. The parking lot can get a little busy and there isn't many seats inside. Husband and I are obsessed with this place. We just moved into town and while we always loved Kawartha ice cream, we did not know we had THE WHOLE STORE right around the corner from us! Happiest place on Earth. We now always have a tub (or two) in our freezer and will get a scoop while we're there restocking to make it a date. They also carry cheese, salami, cookies, fudge, and some groceries. Bonus: if you buy a 1.5L tub of ice cream, you can buy a 4L bag of their milk for only $2.50 (or $2.49?). What a steal! This place is so close to our apartment. I'm kinda lactose intolerant but this summer with our nieces and nephews staying over got us hooked on their delicious ice cream. Every single day during the summer when we are on our way shopping or running errands, the line up can go as far as queen street! Now that they have opened inside with careful social distancing, there are less cars on the main road. These girls that work there are sooooo funny and kind. Quick and sufficient. I'm obsessed with their butterscotch ripple and their salty caramel truffle. Such a big cup of ice cream for under 5 bucks! Cone/cups come in three sizes "Baby- 1 scoop"; "Small - 2 scoops" and "Large - 3 scoops". Bare in mind their scoops are generous. Price points are good $4.50 for a baby cone and $5.50 for a small. I ordered a small waver cone and was surprised at much ice cream I got. And yes it was delicious to the last drop. This location also sells many dairy items from the Kawartha Dairy such as milk, cream, eggs, cheese, and butter. Along the walls houses freezer section of take home tubs of ice cream as well as displays of jars of home made jams, honey, maple butter and baked goods. Yesterday night we dropped by with our two kids, wasn't hoping much but got a lot. First of all, it's felt like a tiny supermarket, more of a diary shop where you can buy milk and cheese products as well. Lots of flavors of ice cream, so we got the 'mango' flavor in a small cup. The portion was humongous, it's more than 4 scoops. Enough for a family of 2 adults and 2 toddlers and it was like under $4 for the small cup. If you go to places like Baskin Robbins, it more like $4 for a small scoop. Like I said, it's more of a diary shop with focus on ice creams and that's one of the reasons why it's so cheap compared to other ice cream chains you normally find in malls. The mango flavor was good, next time will go back with the kids and try different other flavors. There is also bar style seating for you to enjoy your ice cream, also it's got a drive-thru as well. I can't believe these guys opened up in York Region. This is a bad thing and also a great thing. Beyond the icecream service section with 20+ flavours, the store is quite big, with a massive selection of ice cream pints you normally wouldn't find in a super market. Additionally, there's a great selection of farm cheese to indulge in. They also have a general trading store section as well for spices and syrups, etc. I'm a big fan and can't wait to go back. One of my favourite places to go for a quick dessert! The ice cream is always great and they have many flavours. It gets quite busy in the summer but they are pretty quick. Their scoops are always huge, even if you order the baby size. They even have a drive thru which is great when you need to fix a quick winter craving. The store is large and clean and all the staff I've encountered are always friendly. They carry other Kawartha Dairy products other than ice cream - milk, cheese, butter etc. They also have jams, pickled veg, sauces, fudge, nuts... Great flavours covering your classic flavours to some unique creations with cookies and brownie mixed in, nice staff and you can't beat the convenience of a drive thru ice cream parlour during the covid pandemic, they also make great shakes. They have so many flavours, and they're all creamy perfection. My favourite part about them is that they don't make their ice creams overly sweet, so you don't end up getting sick of your ice cream halfway through eating it. It was quite packed on a Monday night at 9:30pm (they close at 10). There was a line of about 15 people when we got there, but the line moved quite quickly. They serve you as an entire group (my whole family was served together), rather than individually, which I think is very effective! I got the baby scoop in a waffle cone, and the scoop was way larger than I had expected. It was the same size as a regular scoop at any other ice cream shop and it was more than enough for me. After seeing the size of my scoop, my entire family also decided to order baby scoops as well. They're way more than just an ice cream shop. They also have jams, pickled vegetables, cheeses, milk, cream, chips, tarts, nuts, and different kinds of fudges. They also have ice cream cakes and tubs of ice cream to take to go. The parking lot is pretty small and can get full, but they have a drive through which helps with the parking lot congestion. My family and I have been a fan of Kawartha's Vanilla ice cream sold at Costco for a few years now, so I was super excited when I heard they were opening a shop close to home. I paid a visit to this location on the corner of Alexander Road and Davis Drive in Newmarket on a Sunday at around 8PM with a friend for the very first time. For a stand alone store that sells ice cream, I was shocked to see that most of the parking spots were filled and there was a line up for the drive through. I had to park in front of the store next door. I would think this place would be the busiest after dinner time on the weekends, so to avoid the rush I'd suggest visiting during the day if you can. Besides... there's no designated time to have ice cream, it can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, or dinner right? As you walk into the store, you'll be faced with a few freezers filled with Kawartha ice cream tubs for sale. Just around the corner will be where you order your ice cream to go with a huge menu hung on the wall. There were many flavours to choose from, some you won't normally see in supermarkets, so I definitely had to choose the more uniques ones to try. I ended up ordering a scoop of Bordeaux-Cherry and their Cookies and Cream in a cup. The staff were very generous with their scoops and super friendly. I'm not usually a cherry fan, especially growing up taking really bad tasting cherry flavoured cold medicine, but the name intrigued me so I was curious and decided to give it a try. The colouring was definitely not your typical pink or red. It was more of a purple wine red colour with real cherries in it. It tasted unusual at first because I haven't tasted anything similar in the past, but giving it a deeper thought, it's exactly how the fruit would taste like in ice cream form. It's definitely not your usual artificial cherry flavour which was nice and was also creamy. The cookies and cream was creamy too and not too sweet, just how I like it.
