It's my first time trying this popular local icecream shop. I first tried to sample some flavor I tried the pandan and the Hong Kong milk tea. The pandan isn't as strong as I expected so I didn't order it. I ended up getting the black sesame soft serve and a scoop of milk tea, both in cups. Cone are 25c more. Order more than $10 can also get a stamp and you get macaron once u get to 10 stamps. I think both the black sesame and milk tea had intense flavor but they aren't creamy enough and too sweet to my liking. And perhaps too many people order the milk tea so there wasn't too much left by night time and so it also accumulated some icy pieces. Mine got some icy bits. I still may go back to try other flavors. They have few seats both inside and outside and there's a little train table for kids to play too. Another one of my favourite dessert spots in Newmarket. Their gelato flavours are exceptional and always rotating - offering lots of delicious fusion options such as Vietnamese Coffee and Hong Kong milk tea. Some days I crave something more decadent and strong, and other times I love something light and fruity. You can buy pints of their gelatos to take home as well. The owners are warm and welcoming. Staff are always helpful, making recommendations based off of what you like. Other than gelato, By Jacob offers lots of different desserts such as cakes, macarons, waffles and cheesecakes. Ample parking for a strip mall, the shop is small with a variety of daily gelatos, macarons, petit fours and pints of premade gelato for sale. They also have hk waffles and Vietnamese coffees to satisfy the non gelato palettes. Mango gelato was fresh, sweet and creamy. The cherry gelato was tart but sweet. The scoops are very generous. An Asian flavour gelato place! Such a pleasant surprise this exists in Newmarket! Although I didn't order an Asian flavour, I got to try the flavours: Pandan and Vietnamese coffee. I decided to go with strawberry cheesecake and it was yummy! I recently tried a lot of gelato at other places in the GTA, and may dare say this is good, but not the best. However, this won't stop me from coming back. The service is quick and efficient. They were able to let me try out the different flavours. It looks like it rotates and they have soft serve too! The flavour that I saw was Hojicha. This is located in a commercial plaza, so not many restaurants nearby. A quiet spot to grab some ice cream. Love this gelato store in Newmarket!! A lot of variety including asian inspired flavours. They sell pastries, soft serves, and ofc gelato. We tried the viet coffee, pandan and hk milk this time. All of the flavours were very strong and the viet coffee was a little bitter imo but that's just me. My friend loved it. I personally got pandan as iv never seen this flavour of gelato elsewhere! LOVE this place! Always been a huge fan of Kekou downtown, and was so happy when a place like them opened up here! They have so many asian-inspired flavours for their gelato, my favourites are the HK milk tea, Lotus Biscoff and Hojicha. All their gelatos are super flavourful and such a creamy texture. You can get the gelato in a cup or cone (the double scoop is massive!), and they also have rotating soft serve flavours - check their Instagram for the weekly flavours. They also sell hk bubble waffles, cheesecakes, macarons, and cakes. Note, they are usually closed on Mondays. read more

Yasssss finally Asian flavor gelato! I was a frequent visitor of keku ice cream when I use to live downtown so when my friend told me about by Jacob, I visited immediately even on a day that feels like -38° with windchills. First impression, very clean and modern decor. They have an array of desserts and gelato flavours. I got a sample of the pandan and durian, it was delicious. I also got Vietnamese coffee to go, that one was a bit too strong for my palette but my husband loved it. Monica and Tommy (owners) were super nice and even gave me a macaron to try. It is definitely on par with some of the other top macarons shops. The best thing is they come in Asian flavour too! So I ended up getting some for my family and my mom actually liked it. She doesn't usually like sweet desserts. But these weren't overly sweet. I will definitely go back to try the other flavours. read more

Found this place in FB and in the neighbourhood, so giving this place a try.. Looks like it's a dessert place and they also sell gelato. The place looks very new and clean vibe and the lady (owner) at the counter is very friendly! So we focus in the Gelato this time. There are lots of Gelato places in Aurora/Newmarket area but I think this place is probably the only place in the area that offer Asian flavour, eg. Viet coffee, HK milk tea, Pandan, Hojicha, and even Durian! For Durian, u need to ask for it, it's not in the freezer u see. My wife just ask for Durian flavour out of curiosity and they say they do have it and actually just made some Durian flavour recently, such luck. Lol ! Thumbs up for all these flavour! The Gelato is creamy and has the strong flavour as the labelled one, like Pandan, HK milk tea, and viet coffee that we tried. It's just a little bit on the sweet side for my palette but it is still good enough for me to go again and try other Gelato flavour! According to the owner, they are just opened for 2-3 weeks so let's continue to support local business! I for sure will go back again for more Gelato! read more

Great spot for asian flavored gelato! Not gonna lie, totally expected it to be italian from the logo but don't be fooled! They even do HK bubble waffles. Their funnel cakes are probably bigger than your face by the way! They have soft serve in the summer months but I am not a huge fan of the texture, almost tastes more icy than what I'm used to. Doesn't stop me from coming for their gelato though! There are so many flavors of gelato and sorbet to choose from. A surprising favourite is raspberry. You HAVE to try it... perfect amount of tartness, sweetness and creaminess! Durian and pistachio are also worth mentioning. The storefront is very small so don't be expecting to sit indoors. It is also in a weird plaza for eating it outside when it's warm so do yourself a favor and pick up a few pints to go! They also don't usually have scoops in the winter (unless they post ahead of time on their Instagram). Service is exceptional. The owners try to get to know you and are so great with the kids, smart ! read more

One of the best gelato spots! Super creamy and flavourful gelato. Lots of flavours to choose from. The bubble waffles were soft on the inside and not as crispy on the outside. No flavours to choose from for the waffle - only original waffle flavour. A lot of mini desserts available as well. read more
