Stopped in before heading up the mountain to stock up on bottled water, the clerk seemed friendly enough. The have a few sizes and brands of water different shapes and different prices. Some beef jerky and other protein snacks as well as chips and junk food options. This is exactly the type of store you'd expect to find prior to entering the wilderness. The parking lot is gravel and there are not any designated parking layout so everyone parks at different angles, and directions so be careful backing out or you my find yourself a victim of stupidity. read more

DO NOT BUY THEIR WOOD!! It costs $3 more than at the gas stations and is ALL WET AND ROTTED. How VIlE to bend decent folk over for a premium & cheat them out of the wood they need to keep their families warm! No one working there was even friendly, let alone helpful. As if was a hassle for us to patronize their business! No prices on anything! They make them up at the counter so they can gouge tourists coming through to Sequoia. Located right across the street from Kaweah park resort,This is a true country general store, want cold beer? got it!,want some firewood?got it!,want a stuffed rattle snake for $3000 dollars? got it! This placed has any thing you may have forgot to pack for camping,plus gas. We thought this was the only market in town and picked up some milk. No organic here. Seemed to be a place to get ice and necessities. The clerk was nice enough to tell us about the grocery store down the road! read more

As good as it gets in this area. Nothing is open late and this place was open the latest. Extremely nice man working behind the counter, very talkative and helpful. Didn't have much there, but what do you expect? There looked to be plenty of chains there if you need them. read more

Just can't imagine going here when there a couple less creepy places right up the road. Doesn't feel clean or trustworthy.

So rented snow chains, and guy renting them to us pull out and looked at them quickly, and then singed paperwork and went on our way with rentals. So due to construction road up the mountain to top is only open every 2 hours, for the traffic lined up, so we go there at 1130am, and waited till noon to go up the construction road, and then after that they require chains, so pulled over with everyone, and one end of chain was ripped off, so unable to fasten chains to wheels, so yes should have checked but also should rental place before given me faulty ones. So turned around and had to wait 2 hours, till road reopened at 2pm, and then back to store at 3;30pm, and well at thuds point whole day was wasted, and well travel in night before and leaven next day, so we never go to go up road to see park and trees, and view. So pulled into store to return these, and knowing the small print on paperwork said we should check before leaving, and so i told guy working what was wrong and he saw it and said wow yeah broken, and so I said refund we are getting back we were, and I said how about the rental cost since never could use which as $25 and he said yeah, but let me call and check and they argued on phone and the person on other end maybe owner, was like NO WAY they do not get refund, and asked if we caused damage, and told the guy they are not muddy, to dirt nothing on them, so NO. Well out come worker said the owner said NO, our fault for not reading and checking them like it states, and so WARNING TO EVERYONE try a different rental place, What if something else defective and didn't notice and had put these on our car, and my family and those driving around us could have been in jeopardy. I am from NY, know how to use chains, and drive in snow. But all wanted was my rental back and NOPE, and so ruined vacation and never saw the Sequoia trees!!! read more

Stopped by Kaweah General Store to rent some snow chains. Went up to sequioa park only to find that one of the snow chains was broken. Made it very dangerous for my family and i to enter the park due to the fact that the Kaweah store doesn't check their inventory for damages on the snow chain rentals! Beware of sketchy business. read more
