Brought my mom in as she was septic and the ER staff was amazing but once she got admitted to 3South the care was no longer there. I watched staff for 4 hours on day one and they would come in and check her vitals and leave but never emptied out her full catheter bag nor offer her water. I finally ended up emptying out the bag at hour 2 and asked the next nurse how often are they supposed to empty it out and she told me "oh just push the call button and we will come". So I guess it's not part of their patient care to check catheter bags unless patient requests for it to be emptied out. Day 2 still in 3South, I came in and her IV machine was beeping and it can be heard in the hallway. It took a nurse an 45 minutes to come and check the IV machine which was not pushing her fluids. Day 3 still in 3South, my mom calls me to tell me she hit her call button and had been waiting about 10 minutes to get help to use restroom but no one came and she ended up soiling herself. I HAD to call to get a CNA to go check on her and that still took another 10 minutes. When the CNA finally comes into the room, she asks my mom "Do you want something to clean yourself?". Ummm, hello she couldn't get up on her own to use the restroom so you think she can clean herself?? Really?? By far the worst care I've seen so far offered by this hospital. I do want to say I am giving it a 3 star as she had a wonderful RN and CNA at night who took really good care of her and my mother made sure to tell me how well they took care of her. Seems like the lack of care is on the day shifts. read more

1 STAR - A PATTERN OF INTIMIDATION, DISMISSAL, AND FAILURE OF BASIC CARE I waited a long time before writing this review because I wanted to be fair and accurate. Unfortunately, after multiple emergency room visits, I feel an obligation to document what I experienced so other patients -- and leadership -- understand what is happening here. This was not one bad interaction or an overwhelmed shift. It was a pattern of deeply inconsistent care, ranging from truly exceptional compassion to behavior that was dismissive, intimidating, and completely inappropriate in a healthcare setting. THE STAFF WHO DID IT RIGHT It is important to acknowledge the individuals who genuinely embodied what emergency care should be: * Katie, RN -- Calm, compassionate, grounding, and professional during a severe panic attack. * Stephanie, BSN & Douglas, LVN -- Absolute angels. Consistently kind, attentive, patient, and humane across visits. * Matthew, PA-C -- Took the time to listen without judgment and treated me with respect. * Initial Security Team -- Treated me with dignity and kindness, helped me safely off the floor during a panic attack. * Alexandra Rogers, Phlebotomist -- The best blood draw experience I've ever had. Gentle, skilled, and compassionate. * Amber C., Patient Access Specialist -- Warm, welcoming, and grounding. * Third ER Visit Physician (MD) -- Truly exceptional bedside manner, professionalism, and advocacy. I am genuinely honored to have received her care. These individuals are the only reason this review is not zero stars. THE DISTURBING PART During my first ER visit, I witnessed a young boy experiencing crushing chest pain that went unaddressed for an alarming amount of time. His mother explained he had fallen while playing sports and the pain had worsened to the point they came to the ER. Watching a child in obvious distress without timely escalation was deeply upsetting. When I attempted to document events using voice-to-text, the response from staff escalated instead of de-escalated. * Anna, RN spoke to me rudely, told me to "sit down," and warned me not to record. * The interaction became confrontational rather than therapeutic. SECURITY USED AS INTIMIDATION Instead of calming the situation, Evan L., Security, was called. He told me I needed to "be respectful" or I would be forcibly signed out AMA without receiving care. His tone and presence felt punitive and coercive. Being threatened with loss of medical care while already in a medical crisis was frightening and inappropriate. Hospital security should exist to protect patients -- not intimidate them or threaten removal of care. A MOMENT THAT SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN NECESSARY Later, as I was returning from my own EKG -- which was significantly worsened due to the stress of the earlier nurse and security interaction -- I saw that the boy with crushing chest pain was finally called for an X-ray. His mother and I shared a brief moment of relief that his pain was finally being taken seriously. It should not have taken that long. DENIAL OF BASIC HUMAN NEEDS During a severe panic attack, I repeatedly asked multiple staff members for water. No one brought me any. I only received water because a friend brought it from outside the hospital. Denying water to a patient in acute distress is unacceptable. ADDITIONAL UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT * Clarissa, ED Tech treated me disrespectfully and refused to tell me my weight after I requested it. * Alyssa, LVN rushed my discharge, provided no education, and failed to ensure prescriptions were sent. The pharmacy later confirmed they received nothing, including essential asthma medication. * Andy, PA-C appeared distracted, failed to provide water, refused to identify himself during a follow-up call, and hung up without resolving a medication issue. These failures delayed care and caused unnecessary stress. FINAL THOUGHTS This emergency department has outstanding individuals, but also serious systemic and cultural problems that cannot be ignored. No patient should ever: * Be intimidated by staff or security * Be threatened with removal of care * Be denied water during a panic attack * Be rushed out without education * Leave without essential medications I sincerely hope leadership and patient safety teams take this review seriously. Kaweah Health urgent care no longer let you schedule online appointment because patient feedback said it was too complicated and inconvenient. I find that hard to believe that people would rather sit there hours and hours waiting to see a doctor rather than book an online appointment and only wait about 30 minutes to see a doctor. And if it is complicated, I think that's an excuse because if people can figure out how to sit on their phones for hours on the Internet, but can't figure out how to fill out a five minute form ridiculous. If I could give them a 0 I would. My daughter is pregnant and was bleeding. She was brought in an ambulance and first they were awful and then the dr tells her she is going to loose the baby. In the hallway. Next to man that was handcuffed to his bed with a police officer next to him. Nice they could hear everything said. No privacy in a hallway right out of an ambulance. No exam, no ultrasound, no nothing. Just your opinion. Such disrespect and disregard for her crying and no privacy. Thanks for the trauma experience. The ultrasound girl was flirting with some guy and had no compassion for my daughter possibly loosing her baby. This was so disgusting and nobody has any compassion at all. They left a bloody IV in my daughter arm and just set her in the lobby. We were there from around 3ish to after 10pm. They left that bloody IV in her and then had to take blood from her other arm and didn't even think to take the bloody IV out. If you can't use it. Hello! What the hell. Why leave it in??? Would you want to walk around with that in your arm?? I know this won't matter to anyone else but this is my child and grand baby. They finally got her a room we had been waiting for hours for and they did a pelvic exam in a room without stirrup?? You're a hospital and you don't have a room for pelvic exams?? They made my daughter wait for hours for this room to do the exam and then it was just a bed?? They placed a bed pan under her to do this exam. Awful! I wish these people could put themselves in all those people shoes in the ER and have some compassion. But they are too worried about themselves and being rude to the everyone. Then don't work in the ER!! Don't go here find anywhere else to go. Please save yourself and family the heartache and trauma. Awful, uncompassionate, rude, disgusting, ER ever. They should be ashamed of themselves but I know they don't care how they treat you. And I know they don't care about this review. On the eighth day of my dad's hospitalization, they recommended withdrawing support, but by God's grace, my father opened his eyes on day eleven. Their approach left us feeling disheartened and unsupported, and if it weren't for doctors within our own family, the outcome could have been very different. This experience was deeply painful, and I hope that in the future, families in similar situations are treated with more compassion and patience. Lastly, I want to warn other families from our experience with case management. Please do not let caseworkers mislead you, as they may try to pressure you into leaving or even send intimidating emails, as I experienced with Samantha Williams. My advice is to call your insurance company directly to verify benefits and coverage, because caseworkers can sometimes distort information or push their own agenda. I am just so confused and to how Kaweah Delta hospital can leave a 85 year male patient who was supposed to be admitted to the hospital for fluid on his lungs in a wheelchair out in the waiting room with oxygen all night claiming their was no beds for him in ER and he was all along very tired and cold that is pretty bad they are terrible hospital they have no care for their patient. Their quality of care is very poor they leave patients. They're all not even the ones who has very limited ability to move around. Those are the ones they take the most advantage of if you speak up, they get mad they take their time and make up excuses so they don't have to do their job. They like this general and chitchat with each other all the time, but they have no rooms available for patients That's a bunch of croc. All they want is the easy way out. They don't wanna have to deal with patients. I was in the ER with my sister who had fallen off a ladder and hurt her leg, the ambulance got there around 10 am and at 5 pm no one had come to tell us the results of the scans and the x rays, no one had offered water or food, I had to ask for water and a blanket, all she had was the sheet from the ambulance and she was shivering and in pain. I had to leave at 7 pm and left her with her daughter. They didn't get home until midnight! That is completely unacceptable! read more

I want to share my family's experience at Kaweah health urgent care after an immediate family member was brought in due to what we believe was an unintentional exposure or a laced substance that led to a fentanyl overdose. This family member is not someone who uses those kinds of substances, and this entire situation was unexpected and terrifying for all of us. Instead of being met with care and understanding, we were met with judgment and suspicion. Multiple staff members questioned how we didn't know what they had taken--as if we were hiding something--rather than recognizing that we were genuinely scared and confused. The nurse even told us to "look for clues" in his personal belongings, as if we were responsible for finding a "clue" to explain what had happened. That comment was completely unprofessional and inappropriate, adding unnecessary stress to an already overwhelming situation. To make matters worse, we are still in deep grief over the recent loss of a loved one. Hospitals are already overwhelming when you're dealing with the stress and fear of a loved one's health, but in this case, the treatment we received only added to our emotional burden. When my family member woke up, they had no memory of what had happened. He was scared, disoriented, and vulnerable. Rather than speaking to him gently or explaining what was going on, staff told them they were going to tie them down despite showing no signs of aggression at all. He were just confused and afraid. There was no comfort, no reassurance, and no effort to meet them with kindness. My family member, like many Hispanic individuals, doesn't have a detailed medical history--not because they don't care about their health, but because they aren't used to going to the doctor. Many in our community feel uncomfortable, unfamiliar, or even afraid of medical spaces. But that doesn't mean they deserve to be treated with less respect or fairness. I was there as a family member trying to advocate for them, but I wasn't treated like someone concerned for their well-being--I was treated like I was hiding information instead of trying to help. While we're grateful for the medical care that saved their life, I'm heartbroken and deeply disappointed in how they were treated emotionally and as a person. They needed compassion just as much as they needed care. Instead, they were treated like just another addict, not a human being in crisis. This review is for all the Hispanic families who might not be familiar with hospitals or doctors. I want you to know that you deserve to be treated with dignity, understanding, and compassion. That's what being a nurse or a doctor is about--providing fair, respectful care to every patient, regardless of their background, language, or how familiar they are with the system. I can't thank this hospital and staff enough!! From the security, to check in, to the nurses, doctors and even housekeeping!! I came in on Jan 18 at 130 am because I was in extreme pain in my abdomen area..I was seen in about 10 min, and ended up having an emergency Bowel Resection surgery, and they found a tumor! Luckily the tumor was benign, but the pain I was experiencing was so brutal!! Dr Kirkpatrick did my surgery (God Bless Him), and his team of assistants. I am so grateful for everyone being so kind, and sympathetic!! All the staff here is amazing!! I can't express enough how thankful I am, especially to Nurse Kim, Nurse Tiffany and Nurse Garrot, really everyone!! I was discharged 4 days later, and I truly miss this whole team!! Super slow and lack hospitality which is important for a medical facility. The ambulance had taken my mom there when was having trouble breathing & because I wasn't allowed to ride in the ambulance, I followed with my car. I kept asking to be with my mom or at least get an update, the older woman at the front desk answered in a rude/upset tone. I waited over an hour & my mom ended up waiting there from the morning until about 6pm in the waiting room and was previously just held in a hallway. No one checking on her, no one offered her food or water besides being stuck there ALL DAY & we never even got the reason of what was happening with her. Never again will be my 1st choice. Not to mention the fact that there was an issue just a couple years ago where they let a patient pass in the hallway due to lack of proper triage & tried to keep the details away from the family. read more

Went on 8-4-25, Passed out at a friends. They did blood work, told them I had a (what I thought was a sinus infection) they handed me a mucinex n let me go after a five hour stay. Said I was normal. The next day I ended up at Adventist, because I could not find a Dr to help with sinus infect. They tested me for covid, was POS! Kaweah never offered a test, let me leave raging with covid! Kaweah delta staffs does not care about their patients. Was there for almost 12 hours just waiting and didn't even receive the proper care my daughter needed! Everyone looked like they didn't want to be there. Why become a hospital staff if you don't even care about the well being of your patients? Just had an emergency gall bladder removal yesterday and my care was amazing! Only a 5 minute wait in the emergency room, then triaged and send for an ultrasound and blood tests within the hour. After discovering my gallbladder was slightly enlarged , we decided it was best to remove it only to find out later it was really infected. My surgery was scheduled same day and the care I received from beginning to end was just stellar. The Drs and nurses patiently listened to my questions and gave me their undivided attention. I never felt rushed and everyone was so friendly. This was not my first surgery at Kaweah Delta, and every time it has been a positive experience. read more

Non-stop issues with this facility. They bill for unauthorized services. Went in for a pregnancy test and the Dr did all kinds of drug tests and now I owe tons of money, this was a year ago and I still can't get anyone to review my dispute. They refuse to bill my insurance for one specific dos and gave me "cash discount" when I have insurance. Then I went in for an ultrasound for twin pregnancy to be told they found baby A's heartbeat but said they couldn't tell me about baby b. That they could get in trouble. Come to find out when I'm in the er two days later for possible sepsis and an emergency d&c there were no heartbeats at all on that ultrasound 2 days prior and no one called my dr to tell her! I found out via the my health portal while waiting in the er lobby. Which could have prevented me from being in the ER and admitted to the hospital. Then all my medical records are incorrect and have typos and are so inconsistent you would think I'm two different patients based off the reports. The list goes on and on. They really dropped the ball by not calling my Dr right away when they couldn't find either heartbeats. read more

So far I have mixed feelings about my family members care. I was shocked to find out that the doctor was giving him Remdesivir, which had a recall at the beginning of this month because glass particulates were found in some batches. Plus it has a bad reputation for causing kidney and liver damage and other major issues with a many, especially nurses I have spoken to on the front lines. I mentioned this to my family members doctor and he quickly said that the recall was only on "some" batches. How do we know if other batches weren't affected? We find out because people have adverse reactions. Why take the chance when there's other options for treatment. But I told him given the bad reputation,the recall and with some medical journals and articles reporting "no clinical benefit", "Little or no impact on survival", why is he choosing this drug? I know of two people with no previous comorbidities who went into the hospital with Covid and were given remdesivir in September and October who ultimately died while being treated. I'm giving three stars instead of one star because he quickly listened to my feedback and change the protocol without any pushback. I must've made sense and made a reasonable request. I was also shocked that two of the nurses on staff had not heard of the recall a few weeks ago by Gilead of this drug Remdesivir (also known as Verlurky). It's like the staff at Kaweah Delta are in a bubble. If a drug has such a horrible track record and has a recall, don't use it. The doctor finally put my family member on a drug that he said has been around much longer and has less side effects. Should have done this to begin with. I find the sock that we cannot visit even with precautions disturbing given the fact that the best decisions for medical care are not being made for my loved ones. Our loved ones need us to be their advocates. On a positive note the communication has been very good with most of the nurses and doctors at the hospital. read more

I'm embracing my inner Karen, because it feels good: You will have more dignity dying in the parking lot than getting any type of "health care" from this dump named Kaweah Health. The staff seems OK. They're just following orders, like the Gestapo. It's the top down management and zero care for humanity that's on display at kaweah that makes me sick. What does it take, one person to work an entrance? But they'll still close a whole wing's entrance and make family visitors walk around. They have "top 100 hospital" banners but no one to fix an elevator. I know what you're thinking. Kaweah? Top 100? Surely there's a mixup! It must be Korea Delta or some other hospital. The top 100 hospital ranking is a LIE. It judges the hospital on whether or not it keeps the patient alive. That's it. And it factors in the patient's condition or life expectancy. So when they claim top 100, it is the bare minimum qualification for being a hospital. Keeping someone that should be alive, alive. That's like classifying Chuck E. Cheese as a casino. The only difference is Chuck E. Cheese is cleaner establishment than this hospital. And it's not like I insist upon myself here. I abide by the five second rule. I grab ice barehanded. My favorite food places are mobile trucks. But for the love of humanity, this is supposed to be a hospital. There's mold in the patients showers! Things are broken. Both elevators didn't work for a day. The same elevator in 3 north hasn't worked in over a week, and the stairs are behind restricted access. The place is like the Triangle Shirtwaist factory, and like that factory, Kaweah Delta would be safer burnt to the ground. read more

I went to ER on 11/29/22 for back pain and side pains i was doubtfully diagnosed for urine retention (Kaweah Health urologist confirmed this) and discharged with a catheter from the ER. which led to deadly life-threatening infection and sepsis which led to hospitalization on 12/14/2022. During hospitalization I informed the staff of my religious belief and what I can/cannot eat. I was given beef meal. When this was substituted, I was given chicken with broccoli with hair. My room wasn't cleaned for two days straight. My patients board on the wall wasn't updated daily. My window curtain wasn't there this was a big issue because I didn't have no patient privacy. Upon my meeting with EVS department head and 3C department head I have come to a conclusion that these two are incompetent for their position and hospital COO & CEO need to review their performance due to the fact that this is a state-run hospital putting people's lives at risk and peoples tax payors dollars to waste. Please if you want the proper care for your loved ones avoid this people. You can thank me later. I want you all to know that I have an Intensive background in Hospital Business. I am very sorry for those who aren't aware of much of the things this hospital does wrong because those who aren't aware of the right from the wrong and the CDPH/Joint Commission rules and regulations that should be followed by this hospital wouldn't know if they were wrongfully treated. read more

I was abused by a RN here. I did take pictures and I also was overdosed on Morphine and Gabapentin. I had surgery done and I was left crippled for life with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. They knew the doctor did this, but I am punished like I did something wrong. I am the victim, not the other way around. This is how I get treated? It is disgusting how I am neglected on my health, because of a cover up. It is inhumane and torture. My human rights 1948 and and Consintutional Rights are being violated. Your in a space answering medical questions and getting your blood and vitals taken with other patients watching and test results. I'm not sure how they are not braking some kind of violation. I went in with head trauma and all they want to do was take blood. I had to pretty much beg for a CT scan. And the doctor was very rude and loud with me . I'm going to tulare or fresno next time .This place is horrible. Dirty rooms they don't sanatize chairs after others have sat on them in the back. My mom is still an inpatient, but I had to send a review before she's even discharged. Sadly, like a lot of people we have been to many hospitals and medical facilities and I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed with Kaweah Medical Center. From the moment we walked into ER ..with admissions... To the ER nurses the doctors the techs... everyone was so attentive, so professional and so kind to my mother who is 91 years old. She was then moved to CVICU on the third floor for observation. Can not say enough about the kindness shown to our mom. She is currently in 3 South. I live in Northern California and after leaving, I have been on the phone many times (as my brother who is there and Visalia is working)with the case manager and the nurses and no one has ever acted like it was an annoyance. Just had the most awful experience here. I'm sitting in the waiting room with my daughter and there's something on the television about how somebody stuck their fingers in someone else's vagina and compared it to the size of a penis. Pretty sure it was about a child in the last year or crooked doctor, but come on. I came in for a blood test. Not to give my kids street knowledge. We excused ourselves from the waiting room and I asked if we could wait outside. read more

My sister had Uterine cancer and was hemorrhaging. She was treated like trash. Once taken back she was given morphine and left unattended and expected to walk to the bathroom on her own after she had passed out from loss of blood.and so much . Lack of good bedside manners. read more

First of all, I never expected to write a review for a hospital. However, I felt inclined to do so after my experience in the ER last night. From the moment I walked in, the security guard (female, great lashes) made me feel so seen and safe. She told me she understood what I was going through and led me to where I needed to go through my tears. I will remember her as a kind heart for the rest of my life. The registration process was quick and easy. They called me back quickly to take my vitals and to hear what I was going through. Of course there was a wait, it's a hospital. Anyone expecting anything otherwise clearly doesn't understand how it works. But EVERY interaction I had, from the people in the lab, to the ultrasound tech, to the doctors was incredibly pleasant and easy. The waiting room was clean, the staff competent and kind, and I am lucky to have received the care I did. Thank you to the staff in the ER. Genuinely appreciate your kindness. read more

There is good and bad, but their wait times for time sensitive diagnostics makes them worthless from a health care standpoint.

1 yr later. same type of bullshit care by doctors. nurses were great, did not even try to provide any comfort for my unbelievable pain from my spinal fushion in January 2025. I had to sit in a hard plastic wheel chair for 11hours, while I watched other sick people get taken care of that were walk ins. I was brought by ambulance! I was in severe pain the whole 11hours. doctor told me I would need an mri, but whound up getting a ct scan? no explanation who changed it. the doctor that seen me while I was being discharged didn't even tell me results of ct scan. no pain meds given to go home. someone screwed up sent the scriot, never got to cvs. I was released with being given 1 650 mgs Tylenol at about 3am, finally got discharged around 5 am. I m back in pain. this is why I call this hospital "KILL-ME-DELTA. they obviously don't get the idea that if you remodel this dump, it's still a dump if you have shitty doctors!! it was actually better back in the 90's!! crowded back then, but better care!! even heard a nurse complaining about a cardiac arrest that came in after me, stating, you know, if they can be saved long enough to get to Fresno, that would be great!!!!!" seriously??? wow kill-me-delta, y'all need to get your shit together. I pray y'all get shut down someday, because you clearly have no respect for elderly, or disabled people, I am disabled, and was completely ignored. way to go losers!!! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would! Wow, just wow where to begin! First of all Filthy! RUDE! Unsanitary! It's like with COVID they just 100% stopped sanitizing or caring. The waiting room is very deceptive, nice clean! The when they put in this "Bull Pin" to be seen, it is so disgusting, unsanitary. You will literally be sitting next to someone who has yet to be tested for covid, AND GOES IN THINKING THEY HAVE COVID! When the test comes back positive THEY LEAVE THEM NEXT TO YOU!! This lady kept taking off her mask and the nurses didn't care at all! Next to elderly people who test negative! No regard for human life at all!! If someone is bleeding or covid positive, or anything, when they relocate them they DONT EVEN SANITIZE THE AREA THE PERSON WAS! One restroom and covid positive people use it and everyone else "except nurses" they don't clean or sanitize! There can be blood, urine, saliva, and they will not clean for people who test negative! the nurses make fun of patience! They come up with rude nick names for people who are really hurt and or covid positive, and elderly people. They dont even hide the nick names and laughing at people IN THE ROOM! The nurses literally told this patient "would you like me to pull **** out my a**! very short and hostile with elderly patients was my last straw!!! The problem is that no one is doing a "secret shop" type deal here! If the health department would just visit as a patient they would see the horror that people witness on a daily here! The department has to tell them weeks in advance! Then KAWEAH posts it everywhere so they get prepared! Only have the "good staff" working that day! Actually clean! And treat humans like humans! I am very surprised they have not been shut down for so many reasons! Unfortunately what's our other choice here in Visalia in an emergency situation! So sad we are stuck with this for our families! But I would risk everything now after this experience to keep my family safe and take a drive elsewhere! Time to get cpr certified read more

I was transferred from Hanford hospital to have surgery at Kaweah Deltas Cath Lab, surgery performed by an AMAZING doctor! DOCTOR KARIN K REDDY Cardiologist. From the moment I entered the hospital until I was discharged I do not have anything negative to say. The team that helped with surgery and the nurses and support staff during after care were great!
