This place used to be fairly decent, but now I'm not so sure. I ordered a simple salad with ginger dressing. It was the worst ginger dressing I've ever had in my life then all cats are done, which is a bowl of rice topped with fried pork chop and supposedly a fried egg. The egg was definitely not fried. It was scrambled and way overcooked. The pork chop itself wasn't bad that the sauce was very, very sweet and it ruined the entire dish. I won't be back to order either.

recently had the pleasure of dining at Kazoku Asian Fusion Restaurant, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The building has been beautifully renovated, and it looks absolutely amazing. The modern design, coupled with bright flooring and televisions on the walls, creates an open and inviting atmosphere. Our server was incredibly attentive, kind, and very nice, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The service truly enhanced our dining experience. The sushi was incredibly fresh and didn't leave any stone unturned in terms of flavors. Each bite was a delightful explosion of taste, showcasing the chef's expertise and attention to detail. Kazoku offers two separate menus: one dedicated to sushi and the other featuring a variety of entrées and appetizers. We decided to try the free sushi rolls, and they did not disappoint. Every roll was crafted to perfection, leaving us thoroughly impressed.

These two rolls we thought were just meh. The Metairie roll and crunchy dynamite.

Moving from sushi heaven of Seattle, it's been an adjustment to find fresh & tasty sushi. Server was a very nice guy. It was busy, but not to busy. Ambiance was casual. The rolls were of good size for the price points. However for us, they were not quite what we were hoping for. However still a great option for a quick bite on the Northshore.

Celebrated a family event at Kazoku Sushi in Covington tonight and enjoyed their Asian fusion cuisine. Kazoku has a svelte contemporary persona and service was welcoming and efficient. We shared a half dozen various sushi rolls, including California, Rainbow, Burning Man, and Chop Chop rolls. All were good. My favorite was the Chop Chop, which was crunchy with spicy tuna and salmon. Ambiance was cosmopolitan casual and though prices might be considered a little steep, quality was high.

It's a little more money than I'd usually spend on sushi and noodles, but they make up for it with portion sizes. My plate of noodles was huge. It was also delicious. The sushi in particular was probably some of the best I've had. The service was great as well, very quick. I appreciate that they have lots of variety on their menu and options for vegetarian and vegan individuals. I look forward to coming back.

Good atmosphere with friendly service and good food. The rice paper rolls appetizer was AMAZING, and entrees were pretty good too. Ginger salad dressing did not taste like anything, which was weird - everyone tasted it to be sure, must've been a fluke or one-time thing though, since everything else was delicious. Our server was super nice and patient as we browsed the quite large menu. Prices were fair, and portions were enough that I finished mine for lunch the next day. (Not sure who our server was by name, but she was great! Best identification I can give her is that we visited on Friday, May 6, around 9pm, and our table in her section was right by the front door.)

People in Mandeville are about to HATE me. This used to be my FAVORITE sushi joint (i dont know why I haven't written a review yet when I've been a thousand times). And then they made the renovations......and the menu change.....and the price change. Listen up if you've been to Kazoku before & you're expecting the same experience. #1) the renovation looks great. the place is larger, and it's very comfy #2) you no longer get a bowl of soup or salad at the beginning of your meal, you'll need to pay for that #3) you don't get a nice warm towely to clean yourself up with and feel all warm and gushy #4) the price on every roll, every ITEM has gone UP UP.... #5) more items....meh I just simply could no longer enjoy the food there after the changes to the prices & all. It was too much. I[m sure others won't mind it as much, but Kazoku was really some place SPECIAL AF to me, so the changes threw me for a whole loop. I probably won't be going back. Maybe for birthday dinners....I don't even know. I'm going to go cry about it now....

Just our usuals (two spicy tuna roll, 2 Philadelphia rolls, Mississippi roll, and seaweed salad-minus the goofy hand-roll-already consumed)

Love love love this place always fresh and delicious. Much love. Clean and spacious comfortable dining and convenience of take out is always available. I had to ask for clear soup, previously was a given, along with warm wet wash cloth upon seating.

I've always wanted to try this place and finally had the chance to. I went in at 10:30am as soon as they opened. I got the cove platter with the 3 meats. I chose chicken katsu, chicken teriyaki, and kalbi. I asked for brown rice instead of white and it came with a side of macaroni salad. The chicken katsu was very well fried. Very crunchy still since I made the trip to work and was able to still enjoy that crunch. The kalbi was okay it was marinated from what I could tell but I wasn't getting too much flavor from the meat. It was tender but it didn't have those grill marks or the char I was looking for. The chicken Teriyaki was a bit on the drier side for me. I was expecting the chicken to be in a sauce but it wasn't. It also didn't have that typical teriyaki flavor. They did put a sauce on the side im not sure what it was. It didn't stick to the chicken and the rice soaked it all up. The macaroni salad was a disappointment it was on the dry side with just egg and maybe a relish of some sort but that was it. I had to add a salt and pepper but still it was dry. The dumplings were the best thing, it comes with a tasty sweet chili sauce. The kimchi appeared to be old and didn't have flavor at all I didn't eat it. Unfortunately I may not be back.

We ordered the two meat plate (pork katsu and kalbi), spam musubi and the bulgogi burger. Kalbi was tender and had a good flavor, but meat was very thin. Pork katsu was ok - also very thin, but fried crisp on outside. Musubi was ok - a little dry. Burger was interesting. Not bad but probably wouldn't order again. The meat itself was marinated and tasted good. Again, the place was clean and the owners are very friendly and the food was good.

There are absolutely no shortages of places to eat in Hattiesburg. Some visiting might lean towards safe places with menu items they feel secure and safe with, and there's nothing wrong with that. But, if that's you you're missing out on some amazing food. Today I took my wife for mother's day as they had some special items on their menu, while also keeping their regular menu available. We started with their standard dumpling appetizer. We get it everytime we eat there and they're delicious every time. The meals we picked were the the kimchi cabanara and the shrimp and grits. Both on their special mother's day menu. Both were absolutely delicious with fresh ingrediants, balanced seasonings and amazing flavors. I'm Italian and grew up eating traditional family Sunday dinners but this bowl of pasta was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere of the place is very modern with a combination of traditional asian features mixed with some modern MTV inspired artwork. If you're into craft cocktails they got you covered as well. The only miss we had to day was our server never came back to take our dessert order, when we asked to order it he confused what we said for the bill and brought that instead. Not a deal breaker, we were actually too full for it anyway and we've had their desserts before. They always inventive and delicious. At the end of the day, one small service hiccup wasn't enough to overshadow what was an outstanding meal and experience. In a city packed with chain restaurants and predictable menus, places like this are what make Hattiesburg's food scene worth exploring. If you're willing to step outside your comfort zone a little, you'll be rewarded with creative dishes, quality ingredients, and flavors you'll still be thinking about on the drive home. We'll absolutely be back.

Cocktails were creative and beautifully presented. The food was great - eclectic Asian would be my descriptor. We had the pickled veggies which included kim chi, black garlic, poblanos, pickles, and collards. The assortment was very nice. The pork and shrimp dumplings were a bit firmer than I'm used to, but not in a bad way, and the flavors were excellent. The pot roast egg rolls were a fun mashup. The okra was delicious - perfectly cooked and great balance of flavors. The pork belly buns were my favorite item. Lots of tender, crispy pork on a cloud soft bun. Yum! I will definitely return if in the area.
