Have been coming here for almost two decades. The quality is still excellent, and the prices have barely risen. Don't know how they do it!

Had dinner on May 11. Food and service were excellent. When I could not eat all of my shrimp tempura, the server came back and asked why. When I explained that it was too much food for me, she cut half the cost of the item from the bill! Never had that happen to me in a restaurant before. Always love it here when we go!!! Henry is so personable and welcoming, he always greets us when we come in and treats us so well. The inside is very relaxed and casual, but could be dressy if you wanted to. Food here is always satisfying and tastes so so good every single time! Made a to-go order and the food tasted amazing. Very satisfied with my visit here and will be returning. I just wish there was more sesame chicken in that entree because for $13 it wasn't worth it (not enough food for the price). Staff was very quick getting our order together. read more

Just a quick stop before heading back to Baton Rouge, so we didn't think much before going in. We were pleasantly surprised. The rice to fish ratio was perfect and the fish quality was good as you can tell when it practically melts in your mouth. The kids devoured 13 rolls it was so yummy! As new Northshore residents this was our first visit. Attentive service, reasonable prices, fresh sashimi, a great chirashi dish and a very generous three shrimp tempura appertizer. Then Hugo sent us complimentary tempura bananas for dessert. Found our new "go to" place. read more

I've ordered from Sake Garden a few times, as I don't work very far. The rolls are pretty typical rolls, I've never had an issue with them. BUUTTTT, today I tried their lunch bento box for the first time and whoa whoa WHOA! The price you pay for such a large amount of food is probably the best deal on the Nshore for lunch, now that I know about it! I ordered the chicken tempura bento box that came out to $9.77 total. This bento comes with a ginger dressing side salad, miso soup, fried rice, 2 large pieces of tempura chicken, 3 large pieces of veggie tempura, 4 pieces of California roll (not my favorite), 2 fried dumplings, and half an orange. 0_0 that's a lot of food!! Really good sushi in a low key strip mall location. It's actually perfectly convenient for take out and that's usually what we do. Always happy with our order from here. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is bc the one time we ate inside was the last. They were cleaning up tables and wiping them down with that god-awful smelling Fabuloso cleaner. Makes me gag! my family and i have been going to sake garden since i was a child. we've eaten in the restaurant and gotten take out from here for years and we have never been disappointed. in my book, it is my #1 and no other sushi restaurant will ever compare. the atmosphere is quiet, the staff (especially Henry) is awesome, and the food is to die for. the food is so amazing, and it shows because of how often we get take-out LOL. Henry always remembers what we order and knows us by name. my go-to order has always been a miso soup and a crunchy roll :) make sure to stop by and show sake garden some love!! read more

Despite driving past this restaurant nearly every day, I had never tried it until a few nights ago. For my first visit I decided to order to-go. The ordering process was quite easy. I chose to call my order in, but they also use the Menu Express delivery service if you don't want to leave the house. My order consisted of salmon sashimi, a tiger roll and a crunchy roll. I probably should have specified what size order I wanted for sashimi, but the menu online only listed one size. Unfortunately they gave me an order with only two pieces. I guess that is OK if you aren't sharing, but I was. The rolls were OK, but there was something missing. These seemed slightly dry. Maybe the to-go process was to blame, but I've had similar items from other restaurants with no issues. The tiger roll did come with a side sauce that once added, did improve the roll significantly, but it still seemed as if it could have been better. I am sure I will give Sake Gardens another shot. Next time I will eat in to see if the experience is different. read more

The best spicy tuna handroll in Mandeville for sure. I love the host and the sushi chefs are on point and consistent. The salmon sushi melts in my mouth and their vegetable roll is amazing. I've noticed a lot of sushi restaurants in town have way too many rolls on the menu. A few almost seem identical in ingredients just presented in a different way which is pointless to even offer. It takes away from the the quality of the ingredients and the simplicity that I love about Japanese food. Sake Garden does it right every time! read more

I'll preface my review with admitting that I stopped in at 9:10...20 minutes before closing time. In order to be considerate of the fact that it was late, I asked the sushi chef to just make me a roll...anything that he wanted to create. The roll was really delicious; however, I had issue with the fact that they wouldn't bring me a bottle of soy sauce and instead opted to give me packets of sauce that you get with to go orders. I don't care what time it is...that's just not something you do to someone dining in. They also didn't have any full sodium soy sauce. Restaurants...if you're not truly going to be open until a certain time, don't post that you are, and certainly don't give a customer less than because they showed up close to that time. read more
