I came here for lunch for the first time and I have to say that I was really impressed with the experience. While I did enter and wasn't immediately greeted but darted to the restroom. The owner interrupted me to advise me that I couldn't use the restroom if I wasn't buying. I informed the lady that I was actually getting ready to order food, but there was nobody at the counter so I'll be back shortly. That interaction was definitely offputting at first. But once I'm going to have a conversation with her, we really hit it off.. I've been proceeded to order the food, but ask her about the process and she told me that I needed to choice my starch first and then the proteins and veggies. She even gave me some suggestions as to how to make the meal better. I was the only one in the restaurant so I have to say that while the restaurant had a Asian fuel to it it was pretty empty. It was also quaint and quite small. Because of the incident mentioned it didn't feel as inviting, but after having a clear understanding, it definitely was worth the experience.. So if you're on the North Shore and you're looking for a poke bowl., I recommend you drop in for a fresh meal. She also had specials of the day which was a delightful. Absolutely terrible customer service. The owner refused to listen to me when constructing my bowl. Any time I would tell her to stop adding sauce or toppings, she would say "I know when it's enough." First time here. I walk in, the place smells like moth balls. And, the door was kind of fingerprinted. I wasn't too optimistic. But, the lady was nice. AMAZING BEST POKE BOWLS EVER! I never noticed this place but I went in and the worker was so nice and I made myself a poke bowl and she even let me try the sauces before I used them for free and she let me eat my bowl while the rest of my family was ordering. This place is definitely a "hole in the wall." I don't understand why they don't have more customers. There was only one worker and she was friendly. The portion is huge, Don't let pictures fool you. The item I got was the LA Poke Bowl. The quality of food is great! After the first bite of salmon, it just sort of melted and the more I chewed, the more pronounced the flavor became. I haven't done a review on a place in so long that it's just plain weird now but I have to make a review for this place. First and foremost, this place is by far the strangest places as I cannot believe how amazing it is as far as the quantity of food you get as well as the amount of quality that it also gives you. When I got my [Spice It Up Bowl], I got to watch the lady make it for me and it was a work of art, and she wouldn't stop adding items to the bowl. I was completely awe-structed. When I took my first bite, testing each piece of sushi that was in my bowl the freshness of each cut simply melted in my mouth and it made me crave more. The satisfying feeling that you get from eating it was just about enough to where you're not hungry for more but at the same time, won't feel bloated for what you get or how much you eat and will allow you to leave feeling satisfied and refreshed. I'm definitely craving more writing this review and reimagining the experience, and I will be back to try out everything else the store has to offer simply because of this first visit here. It's definitely a place to take a date or a significant other to if they enjoy fish because It'll definitely put them in an extremely great mood and their selections are plentiful. But when I walked in, starving, everyone there had nothing but smiles and really helped me to design a poke bowl which met my keto requirements. They even had coconut amino acid's which the keto diet uses instead of soy sauce. I was so impressed with their outstanding customer service and cheerful attitude, even for a late-night customer. First the directions for poke bowl is actually quite simplified, meaning the directions are right on the wall. If you want to find the perfect location to try your first Poke bowl (think of a deconstructed Sushi roll), this is the place to go. Whenever I'm craving a Poke, I only head to this place (easily ignoring their inadequate competitor nearby). For less than $20 you can have a Poke bowl that will ruin all other Poke places for you. I've tried other Poke locations when this place was closed, now I will always just wait, there is no comparison. The lady is quiet and attentive and quick, there hasn't been a time where I had to wait a large amount of time for my meal. It is extremely clean and has a large selection of meats. She somehow even makes the avocado slices look like a work of art! The bowl always looks picture perfect. If you like sushi, you will not regret trying Poke and this is the only place I would recommend to take my family and friends to try. read more

This was my first time here, my only complaint is poor advertising, I didn't really notice this place and always went to Poke Loa which is over priced for jus ok poke. We came to LA Poke because we finally saw the banner on the side of the building on our way to Times Grill. LA Poke doesn't have the most inviting atmosphere because it's dark and a little cramped but it makes up for it in taste and selection! We have tried the hot girl and hot guy rolls both are delicious but I prefer the hot girl roll. We also ordered various poke bowls and all of them were fresh and very tasty. The staff is very patient and friendly, prices were high but no more than most Poke places, it's going to be around $15 per bowl and $12 per roll. Overall we were very pleased and will only go here for our poke! I would recommend better advertising and maybe some special priced items. read more
