Well, you truly cannot get better than the Hannahs. When I found Megan and Jacob's portfolio online, I immediately fell in love with their work. They capture the moment in such a striking, beautiful way; I felt like I had gone to the weddings they pictured on their website! And then I had a call with Megan and realized what wonderful people they are. We knew they were the folks to trust with our wedding day. I was nervous that my excitement would be overwhelming, and I wouldn't be able to remember all of the specific details of our wedding day. That worry melted away because each time something special happened, my brain would think "OH! I hope I can remember this..." and I'd immediately hear "click, click, click" *There was Jacob or Megan somehow magically in the exact right place, capturing it without affecting the genuine moment at ALL. I can't begin to tell you how much I love these guys…read more When I started out my search for a wedding photographer, I knew I wanted two things: somebody who is very technical and has a photojournalistic approach. The "here's an out of focus underexposed picture, but I'll slap a filter on it to make it look cute" crowd was completely out of the question, as was the "my portfolio is full of brides with cut off heads and table settings that look nice on Style Me Pretty" bunch, so I had the hardest time - the minute I saw a technical flaw covered up with a preset or action that person was out. And then I found Hannah Weddings. Jacob is beyond skilled. I have no idea how he exposes some of his shots, or catches those emotions that bring tears to my eyes even when I don't know the couple, but that is why I am me and he is a brilliant wedding photographer. Megan does beautiful detail shots, takes video and handles all the communication. Together they are a stellar team, and some of the nicest and most professional people you will ever meet. I honestly think they don't fully realize just how good they are... We worked with them at our wedding, and they made me (a person who hates being in front of the camera) so comfortable I could care less when they were in the bathroom with me while I was in a short robe putting on makeup - a thought that would normally make me freeze inside. They handled the formal portraits very quickly and efficiently, had awesome ideas on couples portraits, and caught incredible emotional moments that we will cherish forever. Only three (3!!!) days after our wedding, we had a preview gallery ready. See why it makes a difference when you know the technical side? You don't need to spend days post processing and fixing errors, since it's all already exposed and composed beautifully. I honestly can't recommend these guys enough. They are brilliant, and I feel honored to have had the pleasure of working with them.

We selected the corner room #5 (aka The "Lilac Room" I believe?). The room offered a large Roku tv, fireplace, queen four post bed & ball and claw tub. The decor is comfortable and the room clean. We were the ONLY guests at the Inn this evening. Pretty cool. We started a fire (everything supplied), watched a bit of tv, found the bed quite comfortable and slept well. There is a Keurig coffee station on the floor supplied with coffee, cocoa and packaged biscotti for guests to enjoy anytime. We woke to enjoy our made to order breakfast (included) of blueberry pancakes, bacon, sausage patties, eggs (any style), home fries and fruit along with coffee, oj, cranberry juice and water. Dinner consisted of many delicious courses and was absolutely delicious! In the late afternoon, the aroma of the teatime fresh baked cookies permeated the inn. The area is beautiful nearby and there are many more gorgeous places to explore just a few minutes car ride away. I highly recommend a visit! We don't ski but during ski season there is skiing just a couple minutes away. Fall foliage will be amazing there! If I weren't busy this autumn, I would return for sure!

My "wish" list for a photographer was pretty simple - great photos and a photographer who…read morerecognized that the wedding was a wedding, not a photo shoot. Geoff was outstanding in both regards, and competitively priced to boot. A quick story to illustrate: During our wedding it was pouring rain. With the last minute switch from the lawn to the porch, we didn't have a chance to go over angles with Geoff. At the start of the ceremony I noticed him shooting from the steps up to the porch (the better angle to get the ceremony). I had the though "drat he's not going to get the beautiful view in the background". It wasn't until I saw the photos on his website (less than two weeks later, how is that possible?!?) that I realized he had been managed to sneak around to a few different angles and got the best of both sides. Geoff, who's also a news photographer, really excels at the candid shots of your reception. It wasn't so much like reliving the event, as getting to see it through a many different people's eyes. He stood in the rain to get the great shots. He even went outside his comfort zone to use his backup camera to record audio of my mother in law and her aunt singing at our ceremony. My one piece of advice to anyone using Geoff is that you should know what "staged" shots you want in advance - if you care. He is very amenable to you calling the shots for these, and captures great images, but I'd suggest (and do this with any photographer) having someone in charge of wrangling people into the group photos. Geoff also offered an engagement shoot in our contract (free for signing) - something we didn't end up taking advantage of. Bottom line - couldn't be happier with the photos, felt it was a fair price and still trying to figure out how he possibly got our photos done so quickly. We were so impressed with his flexibility and professionalism. Even though our event was small, he made us feel like we were top priority. And of course, the photos he took were amazing! We're both shy people and a bit awkward in front of the camera, but somehow he managed to capture some truly amazing moments. There are cabins scattered across the property and the main reception was held under a tent in the large field. This is a great property for events, family reunions, a weekend get-a-way, friend or business retreat etc... You are surrounded with nature, in a quiet setting and it just couldn't get much more New England than this. I can only imagine this place in the fall when all the leaves are changing color and the views from the water must be spectacular.

It features cabins of all shapes and sizes, some lakeside, some mountainside, all tucked into the trees with views of rolling hills and countryside. The proprietors, Jay and Amy, are warm, amenable and kind. The cabins are cozy and well-appointed for couples and families, with fireplaces, day beds and fridges for leftovers. Don't expect luxury; this is rustic living! Part B&B, LLL offers cabins with inclusive breakfasts, ranging from standard continental to omelettes and pancakes (don't miss these... I think they're the best pancakes I've ever had). Activity options abound: soccer (there's an entire field), badminton, tetherball, basketball, two tennis courts, and a lovely grass volleyball court. In case that isn't enough, there's also an "activity cabin" with board games, toys, books, foozball, and TV for kids' movies (see photos). Post Pond, the lodge's central feature, is a glorious place to swim - the water is warm and lovely, as ponds are meant to be. There are rowboats, kayaks, canoes and paddleboards for guests who want to paddle, as well as a fleet of bicycles. If you're into cycling or running, take a meander down N Thetford Rd half a mile from the lodge to River Rd, which takes you all the way to the winding Connecticut River. Birds, butterflies, and peacefulness abound. (Pro tip: take your first right from N Thetford onto Breck Hill Rd for the most idyllic country scene you've ever seen.) LLL's head chef, Janet, cooks up amazing, healthy fare like kale Caesar salad, pesto linguini, grilled chicken, burgers, corn on the cob, steak, jambalaya, zucchini fries, and other fresh cuisine. There's always a kids menu with hot dogs and mac n' cheese, and you can order lunch - and ice cream cones! - through the side kitchen window to dine lakeside. Twice a week there are delicious summer buffets - on Wednesdays and Sundays, LLL is hopping with BBQ, music, juggling, swing sets, see-saws and watermelon. They are also open for dinner on weeknights in their dining room, which is classy without pretention (think tablecloths and napkins, but in a cozy, homey setting). If you ask nicely, they'll set up the most glorious outdoor table under the spreading oak trees with a view of the lake, and you'll think you're in heaven. (Warm rolls and salted butter come gratis.) Amazingly, everyone who stays here manages to become friends, and it starts to feel like home. If you come during summer, prepare for the occasional thunderstorm with raincoat and umbrella... or, better yet, just live in your swimsuit! Sunblock essential, water bottle and flashlight helpful. Cell service is spotty and no WiFi in the cabins, but that feels like a blessing. If you need to plug in, grab a couch in the main lodge or barn. Whether solo or traveling with family, LLL is an amazing place to vacation, have dinner with the kids, or relax for a weekend. This place is a godsend. Versatile was wonderful to work with during the planning process with the manager, Victoria, as well as Nick, the DJ. Highly professional and they thought through all the needs of our event in advance; we had a very productive pre-event call with Nick to go through all the details. The event went great. Nick has excellent equipment and he is talented at mixing the music. We gave him a playlist that he used and then he very appropriately expanded from that list. He provided a projector and screen and mics for speakers. As the event took place he appropriately managed the volume and tempo/vibe of music and helped us make seamless transitions from music to a slideshow to speakers with presentations. Made it so that I had a super easy time hosting and I never had to worry about the technology of it all. Great guy and can't say enough good things. Highly recommend.
