We were looking at fold out sofas. They only had 1. But the store isn't that big and I am not sure if those are that popular anymore. The mattress on it was horrible and they said we could upgrade for $300, but didn't have a sample of that mattress. Haven't gotten the sofa yet, so can't review that.

After speaking with the service department in Peoria Heights yesterday, then again this morning, after the recliner was again stuck in full recline, they said they could not get a tech to me for 5 days. I went into the Normal store, told them what the problem was and asked for help. Debbie, my salesperson, asked Julian from the warehouse to follow me home and see what he could do. He quickly determined the problem was wires getting caught in the moving mechanisms underneath, secured them out of the way with zip ties, and everything worked perfectly. Thank you to the Normal store for promptly addressing this issue, but a thumbs down to the service department.

However, there was a delivery fee. Our home is in Morton, Illinois, only 40 miles from the store. I feel that is close enough to not have a delivery fee added. When the couch was delivered, I asked the two technicians if they would help me move the couch we already had to the garage, which they readily agreed to. As an appreciation, I gave them a $20 tip, for the three minutes it took to move the couch. As we learned later, there was a $50 fee from Martin's for the two technicians to move the couch. Certainly, a surprise. I won't make that mistake again.

Well, obviously we were not told- as we keep following up. You can't advertise things online and then swoop in and cancel orders because you don't like the price you sold them at. We demanded free or reduced rates for delivery which is definitely negotiable. Usually running some sort of low or no interest deals as well.

Much to my surprise when the delivery guys got here, they said for liability reason they don't remove. I called the store and was told the sane, but they do charge $159 each piece to remove. I could have arranged to have soneobe here prior if I had known that. I have to give 0 stars for the store, I guess misleading customers for a commission is the way they do business. I do give the delivery guys tho 5 stars, they are a third party delivery team and they did an outstanding job. Fortunately the mattress delivery guys had removed the bed which they went above and beyond of what they needed to do. I had been planning on buying additional furniture from Ashley, but will no longer be doing that.

They even gave me an estimate on the phone. The appointment was met on time, the guys were very nice and professional. It didn't take them long to make the necessary leveling adjustments. They told me some information about my table, good things, they didn't try and tell me all the bad things about it, in fact they said it looked very nice and it went well with our decor. They spent time after leveling making sure the table rolled true and gave me some information about balls and places in the area to go play outside of my home. This is our second experience with Altman's and both have been very positive. I recommend this locally owned business for your recreational and furniture needs.
