They didn't get on site until 11:30 to start work. I had a conversation with them about my expectations regarding showing up on time and it was very good after that. Communication was good throughout the project. Joints in corners were caulked, not taped and mudded. The knockdown texture was not even close to what was already on the walls and when we asked about it, George said that whoever did the previous knockdown "didn't do it right". The knockdown that is on our walls looks way better than the knockdown that George and his crew applied. George and his crew did very little clean up. It was still a complete mess when they left. Once we painted, there was tape bubbling up and the seams are awful. I asked George multiple times over a period of 2 weeks to come out and take a look. He said he would but never came out and now will not return texts. I would not recommend Apex Built.

He's guided by his religion too. Take that for what you will. But, it's pretty easy to hurt people then ask for forgiveness in the sorry box. They low balled me on the numbers left on my door. There's NO WAY anyone could paint my house for the $5,750 quoted...with an additional discount of $1,500, so $4,250. I had over 10 quotes 4 years ago. The price they quoted on their flier was less than half of the lowest quote I got 4 YEARS AGO. Run, do not walk from this group. I trust what I flushed this morning better.

We had a quote for the mantel from another company which was three times as much. The work was completed quickly and we did not have to wait long between the time I contacted them and the completion of the work. The bid was given promptly and the work completed swiftly. They also cleaned carefully at the end of each day. The owner, Cole Bernardel, was communicative, had good suggestions and is friendly, professional and easy to work with. They will be our first call for our next project. In contrast, our second floor remodel has taken 10 months, and it has been difficult to get them to complete the work, with many days going by with no one being here. I am so glad we found Proof Construction and Remodel.

Anyhow, we had some ceiling damage (from a leaky toilet above us). The unit above us hired him to do the repair work. He was in and out and did a great job. This job included him cutting out some of the ceiling, waiting till everything was dry, and then inserting new sheet-rock and painting it all up. After the job was done, it looked like brand new. Wouldn't you know, the leaking continued and once the problem was fixed once and for all, we took some bids. The building recommended someone else and we called them in. After they showed up to estimate the job, they never followed up over a three week period and gave us a written estimate despite several emails and calls on my part. Time to call Ed! His estimate came in at 1/3 the price of the other contractor and wouldn't you know, he had great follow-through and came out right away. This job was quite a bit larger than round one as we had far more water damage. However, after the three day job was done, you can't tell that it was worked on it at all. Ed really takes pride in his work, will answer any questions from you, uses quality materials, and will be glad to give you some advice on smaller projects that you can do on your own whether it's hanging mirrors, fixing the toilet, etc. If I ever require a handyman or a general contractor again, I will not hesitate to give Ed a call. He's amazing! Unlike other contractors, he will actually show up on time and do the job in the time he promised. He also didn't require payment till the job was done and made sure we both signed the estimate / contract. Love it!

PM disappeared after 2 months into the job. they never returned our allowance money. They did shotty work. Didn't grout under vanities which have legs so it noticeable. They installed wrong flooring in entire house. Left live electrical wires in the walls which could have burned down our home. Our shower floor doesn't drain because the floor is uneven. kitchen cabinets weren't finished. They flooded our dry basement and ruined it. I have hundreds of photos and a video of all the discrepancies. They will lie and tell you they fire everyone and rehired new people. It's a lie. They have more than one lawsuit. Check it out

RUN from KC Remodel are liars and dishonest they walked out on our remodel job because we requested invoices showing where our money was going. They also kept our allowance money. we found out they were over charging us for additional items flooring, paint, Sheetrock etc. they use it in their own homes or other homes. This is why they would not give us invoices. They did a terrible job. All the photos on their website are probably fake.
