Thank You to Kyle of Simmons/BeautyRest and Pascal of Mattress City. Dixie and I have had some Disappointing Experiences looking to and buying a new mattress and box springs set and we believe in buying local whenever possible. We went to Mattress City on January 16, 2020 and met with Pascal for Two and Half hours. He was upfront and honest with us and gave me a chance to try mattresses and ask questions. He did not pressure us to buy a mattress and indicated that to us in so many words when we first came in the store. I decided to go with the BeautyRest Silver BRS 900 Plush. Pascal and Aaron delivered the box springs and mattress to Topeka, Kansas and brought a mattress pad that was supposed to let the mattress breath. It didn't. The issue that I have is of sitting wrong on the side of the box springs and mattress and negating and invalidating the warranty and I should have been told this before buying it not when it was delivered as, I am more concerned about damaging the box springs and mattress instead of enjoying them. read more

We were looking to upgrade from a queen to a King size bed. We had no idea where or how to start. The moment we walked in, Pascal was beyond friendly and helpful. He asked us several questions to get an idea of what we were looking for. We currently have a tempurpedic and it's just way too firm for the two of us. He started by showing us the different types of beds. (I had no idea the difference between all of them!) Once he showed us the difference, that's when we started to lay on them. I have no idea how people could possibly buy a mattress online after realizing how each and every single mattress is so different once you lay on them. I can't wait to be comfortable in our new mattress, thanks to Mattress City & their awesome employees. Customer service was beyond excellent. Sunday afternoon my husband and I stopped in to look at options for our son. We were debating between a full extra long and a queen. The salesman said that queens were stocked and the full xl would need to be ordered. He did say there were a few options that the full xl wouldn't be available in but he felt we could find a suitable option for our son. We told him we would return with our son so that he could try out the mattresses and we would measure to see which route we needed to go spacing wise. My son and I went in Monday to look at the options. I told the salesman we had been in yesterday afternoon, and due to spacing we were wanting to look at the full xl. He said they didn't carry them, and wouldn't order them. I kindly explained that I had been in, what I had been told, etc. He said he had worked there longer and he knew they wouldn't order. I walked out and went to Mattress Firm less than 2 miles from their location and ordered a full xl that will be at the warehouse in Lenexa for pick up on Saturday. Apparently either the first salesman was wrong on the information he provided, or the second salesman didn't care about the sale. Either way salesman number 2 had zero customer service skills. I won't return and I certainly would't recommend this company. read more

My wife and I purchased a mattress set last night (10/16/13) from this location. While Paul, the person helping us, was kind, he did not mention the important yet ridiculous return policy. Mattress City will not accept returns or exchanges if a bed has been removed from the factory sealed plastic. I do not know about you, but nothing I buy and plan on using stays in its packaging. How reasonable is it to ask you customers to sleep on a bed wrapped in plastic until they are certain it is right for them? Needless to say, my wife woke 4 times and made it clear to me throughout the night that our initial assessment of the product was wrong. Happy wife, happy life, right? It goes without saying that if we continue to use the bed, I will have neither. We are willing to pay more money for a product better suited to my wife's comfort. Paul, however is not willing to help reach a reasonable solution, which would keep a customer happy and ensure future business. We spent just under $450, which by no means is a lot of money, but it is a nice chunk. In the end we are out the money, on a decent nights rest, and left with something we do not want. If you do purchase product from Mattress City, keep it in the bag and do not allow the bag to be damaged. read more

If there were a zero star option, this would be my first time using it. TERRIBLE customer service. Their show room is set up so badly I injured myself because at 5'5" I have to jump up to lay down. Xrays say it is only temporary, but exercise & pain meds are no fun. Delivery is totally at their convenience, so I have the option of taking a whole vacation day or staying home all day Saturday to receive a delivery. Their methods are so antiquated (blaming the delivery men) that this is the approach that is made fun of on Cable. Really? I'm grounded all day Saturday waiting for a mattress we paid big money for?? NEVER AGAIN. I promise I won't pay out to folks who treat me this way. read more

I have bought several mattresses here over many years, they used to have a metcalf store, wish they still did, but the olathe one was fine too. Its a no frills store, but I always end up back there to buy because the salespeople are very nice, helpful and the mattresses are the same brands elsewhere but much less expensive. read more
