I know not much about furniture "except what I like" and "what I like" generally that falls into the Art Deco/Victorian with a splash of vintage Chinese (a "splash" because I can't afford more than an accent piece or two) category. My perfect room looks like it would have been in an EJ Bellocq photograph (sans prostitutes), just to give you an idea. Of course this is the antithesis of what you'd find in Retro Inferno, but I can still admire... and appreciate. Sometimes, I enter a home that is the perfect Mid-Century Modern time capsule and for minutes, perhaps hours, I consider putting out all my furniture at the curb. If I were to ever follow through, I suppose I cold then hit up Retro Inferno and re-outfit my digs. Although the price tags here give me pause (keep in mind these are designer pieces in PRISTINE condition, so it's to be expected and this is not at all a complaint) I was incredibly impressed by the composition of things (on the main floor, which is the showroom. We are furnishing a second home from out of state. Primary bedroom, guest bedroom, dining room, & great room mostly furnished. As stated, all was great until the delivery. Delivery day came and we found out that Bob's contracts their delivery service to a third party logistics and warehousing company. They arrived with an installer and a helper. Most pieces had to be assembled. We had issues with 2 pieces of furniture being damaged upon unpacking and assembly. Additionally, the delivery personnel got hand marks on my freshly painted walls, scuffed the walls, and out a couple of sings in the walls and moldings. I understand that things can happen. The issue I have is the centralized customer support. They will not let you speak directly with store personnel, rather you can text the store or speak to an agent in the call center. After repeated attempts to escalate my issues to no avail, I searched LinkedIn for Bob's senior leadership and reached out to a Senior Director over inventory and delivery. That finally did the trick. Their executives are caring and responsive. I believe they need to re-think their centralized customer support and rely more on relationships built by the local teams.
