In response, he got increasingly angry, said it would be too much setup for him, and emphatically told me that he would never let anyone borrow his tools, "never, never." I certainly did not expect free service, but I was surprised by the hostility over such a small request. It left a sour note on an otherwise good day.

Im a mechanic and fabricator and normally don't let anyone touch my ring but me but I only had a basic set of hand tools with me, no drills or bits, no jack stands, nothing I needed to make the repairs so I had little choice. I thought we had lucked out when we found Wesdak, they said they could take a look at it and possibly bandaid it back together while i got the right parts coming. They started the work, while they were working I was on the phone getting the right parts ordered. We went back and forth on a plan. They were going to make it safe to drive while the stud kit came. I spent $250 getting the right parts next day aired from LA. I went to install the studs only to find out they had run the wrong bolts in with an impact gun, ruining the threads and any chance I had of saving the knuckle. I had to pay someone else to weld the knuckle in place so we could continue our trip safely. I called the shop, I left a message for the owner, the mechanic called me, he was very apologetic and said "they" would make it right by giving me a partial refund to cover the cost of the new knuckle $250. I was out $650 at that point. To shorten this up. I never received anything from them, repeated phone calls and texts have gone unreturned. The owner never even had the guts to call me, he made his mechanic do it. I appreciated their willingness to help me out but the attention to detail wasn't anywhere close being that this was a critical part of the steering. Their welding looked ok, but I would avoid them for mechanical work. They don't stand behind their work and won't return phone calls if you have a problem.

They were able to order one from Rapid City and get it there within a few hours. they also recommended the mechanic across the street who also did a great job. Their prices were very reasonable and they didn't even charge me up front for the core return deposit. Had a very nice chat with them while waiting for my part and all n all it was a very good and relaxing experience with something that could have been stressful for a traveler from out of town. I had called around to several places and no one would help on such a short notice. Tyler didn't hesitate in saying he'd do his best to help me. After about 15 minutes they took my car in the garage. Two incredibly knowledgeable mechanics started working on it. They end up staying a bit past their closing time, apparently because they were helping me. I can't thank Ty and his crew enough. They had the parts in stock and came out to the RV park the next morning. He replaced both vent covers and also pointed out that there was some cracking in the caulking on the roof. He showed me pictures and offered to clean and repair the affected areas while he was here. He was very friendly and helpful while he was here, including suggesting an easy upgrade to the vents themselves available on Amazon.
