I took the class portion online and did that at home and the skills portion was in the class room and the monitor was Instructing you . It corrects you until you get it right . I spent 40 minutes ventilating the mannequin thinking I was doing something wrong (you only get one…read morehour). I tried calling the number, and it wasn't working. I eventually closed out of the exam and started working on the mannequin on the left side and it immediately worked. I wasn't doing anything wrong, airway was open, mask was sealed, I could see the chest rising. The mannequin just wasn't reading it. It's the one on the right side that didn't work DONT use that one. Such a frustrating experience, I ended up passing but if only one mannequin was available, I would've failed by default and had to pay again.

The instructors were awesome and always there before and after class to help. I could call them on a weekend and ask questions if I didn't understand when cramming for a test. I tried a accelerated course with another school in Sacramento and it was a horrible experience. I researched all the Available EMT schools around my area and decided on The Academy For Professional Development. I would highly recommend if you want to succeed in a career in EMS.

The CPR class was just like any other CPR class not good not bad just something you should do. The first aid portion of the class was very informative. I learned a lot of information that I do not learn the first time taking this course elsewhere although the class was four hours it did not seem like four hours. The instructor did a great job giving us facts and giving us examples. I recommend this course of course, if it takes a month to get my CPR card, I may have to update my review.
