1'8'2023 Salmon BLT w Seafood Salad

Well, this review is definitely tardy to the party but not too late to initiate !! I've been rocking and rolling w this business since 2017 at a minimum !! I stumbled upon this business years ago when a few of my friends were bragging and boasting on social media about how good the weekly prepared lunches/ dinners were. Of course I didn't want to be left out so I had to give it a try. This caterer did weekly meal plans and dinner plans. It's so convenient and the options are unlimited. The customer service was always top notch and never failed. Their online ordering system is so easy to use, a caveman can do it. Timely deliveries. TODAY... This caterer does weekly meal plans, 3 day brunch menus, caters events of all sizes, owns a hosting space and industrial kitchen, hosts local events, is a pillar of the community, mentor, owns multiple businesses, educator... how much more time you got? There's definitely way more to KDW than this review has time to explain but I assure you, one visit to this business will have you hooked !! This is a family ran business of integrity !! The customer service is unmatched, quality is 5 star and portion sizes always provides leftovers!! Do yourself a favor and pay them a visit!! They're on social media sites Facebook, Twitter and IG. Check their sites for their hours and treat yourself. ** whispering ** My favs... Catfish, Chicken, Salmon BLT, Crab Cakes, Bang Bang Shrimp, Brussels, Cabbage, Glazed Sweet Potatoes, Dirty Rice... and everything else !! Lol Bon Appétit !!

Fried Catfish with Brussels Sprouts and Macaroni n Cheese-

Hidden gem in Randallstown- everything is local they have Muddy tea here - Desserts are by a local baker (Kuddicakesas well - all of which I'm loving! Was greeted as soon as we walked in-everything is basically cooked to order -very clean establishment. Good: I chose the Broiled Snapper with collards and Mac n cheese. The Snapper was seasoned well and really nice portions however I would've preferred it with a sauce or some kind. Overall a great choice-the Collards we're fresh and cooked with Turkey just needed a little more seasoning for my taste(would definitely order again) the macaroni was the best I've had from any establishment in awhile. It was just enough cheese to enjoy but not overpowering. My friend chose the fried catfish and said it was seasoned perfectly! The Brussels sprouts were sweet yet had a crisp to them and she would definitely get that again. She as well enjoyed the macaroni and stated that was a hit! Overall, I give this place a 9 out of 10! Only because I haven't been able to taste everything on the menu but I'm guessing it's going to be just as good as what we've had so far! I love the fact that they carry other local establishments products such as the Muddy tea(which is always delicious) and I purchased a piece of cake which was made by a local bakery but haven't tried it as of yet! I'm glad I've found this hidden gem. Will definitely come back to try the Groovy grits and short ribs -that's on the Brunch menu!

My plate I made for dinner with a little bit of everything. Don't judge me. So delish!

This food is absolutely delicious and flavorful! This past week we ordered the family meal plan which has been a lifesaver since we have a 9 month old. He posts weekly menus on his website. You can order individual meals that will last a few days, pick them up, or have them delivered. KDW has great customer service and they are professional. I've tried pretty much everything, shrimp scampi, salmon cakes, fried catfish, codfish cakes, chicken cheesesteak egg roll, as entrees. The sides are great as well, I've had collard greens, Cajun pasta, mac and cheese, and broccoli. All of the dishes are packed well and the delivered in a reasonable amount of time. Check out his website and place an order.

I saw a post on Facebook they have lunch specials on the 1st Friday of each month so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the fried snapper with collard greens (had smoked turkey in it) and macaroni and cheese. To drink I ordered a Muddy Tea with was good.

She responded to my questions quickly and was always willing to adjust our invoices or provide recommendations. They are also the most affordable company I've found in the DC area. On site, the catering team went above and beyond to ensure our events went seamlessly. I have never had guests compliment the staff and the menu as much as they did with St. Germain! As the event coordinator, I appreciated that Ceecho, Donal, and Johnny checked in with me throughout the event, quickly adjusted to the schedule changes, and were efficient and helpful throughout the set up and tear down process. I highly recommend Saint Germain for our next catered function in DC! We will be a repeat customer for sure!

Their menu is expansive and can accommodate all types of dietary restrictions--we had dairy free, vegan, pollotarian, and gluten free folks, and they all enjoyed the food. Set up and tear down were efficient, and the staff was so friendly, polite, and professional! And the food! I over ordered, so the whole library staff got to eat, too. Everyone raved about the buffets (we did a "cookout" style, a "fajita bar" style, and we had breakfast for three days). Everything was cooked well and seasoned well! The fresh fruit was delicious! Can I recommend them any more than I have? If I'm ever in the DC/DMV area again for an event, I will definitely give them a call.

A Family Affair Catering provided exceptional service for my friend's 75th birthday celebration,…read morewhich I hosted for 105 guests. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of flavorful options that truly pleased the crowd. The presentation and overall setup were beautiful and added an elegant touch to the event. Chef Darryl was professional, organized, and a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. The pricing was very reasonable, and he even offered a wonderful tasting prior to signing the contract, which gave us great confidence in our decision. I highly recommend A Family Affair Catering for any special occasion.

To consider this a legitimate "business" is laughable, just like their food. Arrived over an hour…read morelate to an event and instead of being apologetic, had an attitude. Dinner was for 25 + people and there was barely enough food for 12. Not that this mattered, as EVERYTHING was inedible and there were no plates, cutlery or napkins provided. I take that back, the store brought $2.00 (price still on) cornbread and $16.00 cake were the ONLY items edible. The Mac and Cheese was dry and bland. I will give them credit for it being both overcooked and undercooked all in the same batch. I'm still trying to make sense of that! The only adjective that even remotely describes this Mac and Cheese is "disrespectful". Like, seriously, the disrespect was 10/10. The chicken was undercooked and bland. How do you make jerk chicken bland and soggy? I'm actually curious. The "blackened" salmon was overcooked yet not blackened, creating another "make it make sense" moment. I immediately spat out the greens. They were undercooked, not under-seasoned but literally "not seasoned". Wait, I take that back too, if you count the dirt and grit as seasoning. They should be ashamed of themselves for ripping people off. Pictures don't lie. The fact that they were sent pictures and still stood behind their product tells you all you need to know. Please, please, PLEASE do not let these people ruin your event and more importantly your special moments and memories. There are so many other respectable and legitimate Black-owned catering companies i.e. Ohhs and Ahhs, Henry's, Hitching Post.

The Classic Catering People - Treats!

The Classic Catering People

We used Classic to cater our wedding. To be honest, we feel a bit mixed about the experience. TLDR:…read morewe wound up giving four stars because although our bar situation was a disaster, food is more important and the food was better than most other wedding food. The food - as foodies, we felt like Classic gave us very good wedding food (but it fell short of very good restaurant food). During our tasting, we were pretty blown away by the food -- all the flavors were excellent and all the food was perfectly cooked. Day of, a lot of the food was overcooked, and things were under sauced, so we missed a lot of the flavors from our tasting. The food was certainly better than most other weddings I've been to, but if I would have gotten the food at a restaurant I would have been disappointed. I know it's really difficult to cook in bulk. (FWIW though, people really loved the mashed potatoes -- and were still talking about them a week later.) We were also extremely pleased with how Classic handled dietary restrictions. We had a number of people with restrictions, and everyone was able to eat, and no one got sick. They even worked with us to make our whole menu gluten free so that all of our (many) celiac guests could partake. The drinks - our drinks were a disaster. And I think part of this is because our catering manager switched just a few months before the wedding. Our original catering manager had allowed us to create our own cocktail recipes. We love mixology so it felt very fitting for our wedding. We wanted our wedding to feel like a cocktail bar and not just have the standard wedding cocktail. However, our new catering manager pretty much lost her mind when she heard this, saying it's never done. Our conversations were weird, and we never figured out what the issues were so we assumed it was reluctance to do something different and thought they'd figure it out. However, it seems the issues were the bartenders can barely make a drink. Although we sent VERY specific recipes, i think only one of the bartenders followed them. The first drink I was given when I came down to my cocktail hour was supposed to be a lavender chamomile play on a French 75. But what I was actually given was lemon juice, soda, and gin. I literally spit it out, and had a mild panic attack that my guests were being served undrinkable drinks for our whole cocktail hour. It turns out, that only one bartender was making undrinkable drinks (and they continued to for most of the evening). Another one was making ok drinks, and one was making drinks correctly. No one could remember which bartender was making which drinks, so everyone remarked how inconsistent our drinks were. A number of times people had to toss drinks because they picked the wrong bartender. I was also pretty pissed that although we had confirmed with our planner and classic a half a dozen times that they would pass drinks during cocktail hour, they never did. Afterwards my planner said it was because the drinks were too complicated. But they could have passed wine, or beer, or prebatched drinks (which we thought they were doing). We really didn't want a line at the bar, and there was one, so a month later, I'm still fuming about the disaster that was the bar. I think had we had more time, or better communication from the new catering manager, we could have worked something out that would have worked for us and them. But, instead, trying not to piss us off, I think she gave in knowing they couldn't hold up their end of the bargain. The service - the service (aside from the bar and our catering manager) was good. All the catering staff were very kind, and rushed like crazy to finish our room flip. We appreciated that they designate one server just for the bride and groom! The process - Our process was a bit of a mess because of the catering manager flip. But, were it not for that, I think it would have gone pretty smoothly. Classic are def pros at putting on events. We were happy with the process before the switch. Afterwards, we didn't really jive with the new catering manager, who was much more rigid than the original one. We might have been less off put by this, but, she also wasn't great at communicating the reasons behind her "nos" or "yes, with reservations". Our planner had told us that your classic experience very much depends on your catering manager, and based on our experience with two of them, that seems accurate.
