i live out of state but i received a td personal check that was a td check and from that branch…read more when i went to cash it i was told there was a $10.00 charge because i don't have an account. i don't understand if it's you're check, you're branch, and you would be able to tell if there's the money in the account, no risk to the bank then why should i loose $10.00 for no reason other than you screwing a non customer. so i informed the person that gave me the check and they are pissed and will be closing their account. called customer service and was told that i should go back to the bank and talk to the manager, why should i be inconvenienced to waste my time and there is no guarantee they would waive the fee?????

Explained situation. Was told they won't stop these transactions. I need to call them. Tried to close out my account and was refused telling me I need to re cancel those accounts via phone. (Phone is not possible as it needs to be in writing via internet form) Refused to close out my account till these reoccurring charges are paid. The same charges I tried to cancel both in person at the bank, and via the recommended Internet cancellation form.

I tried this in another PNC branch with no problem and was never asked if I had an account. Then I went to a TD bank and did the same thing without being asked if I had an account. I guess the manager at the Hooper Ave PNC branch was on power trip and made up her own rules. I also contacted PNC corporate and they said they gave no such policy that you need an account to exchange US Currency.
