The community business leaders…read moreare doing a great job of supporting community residents and visitors by planning for, organizing, and producing Friday Night Concerts in the park throughout the summer months! Folks show up early to stake their claim for prime space, even before the bands show up to start getting ready for their shows. There are food trucks, and sponsor booths giving away various items during the concerts. I was quite impressed with the play equipment the City installed for the community, as well as the fact that they maintain restrooms for public use. I can only hope the concerts continues on for many years to come.

Who names their park "Library", they do. The whole town was there with beach chairs and the band was playing Beatles songs. Food trucks there. Shave ice with more than 20 flavors and you help yourself. How cool. Kids swimming. Raffle winners being announced. I think they have a concert once a month on Friday nights. Look for the flyer or Google it. Summer series. Plenty of picnic tables, playground, and restroom. Bring your chairs and find your spot. Dance the night away.

This made for good bird cover, but not a scenic walk. The trail on the uphill portion of the park was obscured by scotch broom, and poorly maintained. Pigs had massively impacted whatever beauty remained. I did not feel safe bushwacking here. There are a couple benches that could be used for picnicking closer to the parking lot; one had a view toward the lake & Konocti.

In other words, they're not there to sell anything. The Lake County Visitors Information Center has a bunch of great people who really know their stuff and happily share maps, info, ideas and suggestions. I've never been in here where they were less than enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. Wanna go horseback riding? Glider flying? Wine tasting? Bicycling? Boating? Got kids? Gambling? Whatever just ask them and they know all the local hot spots for whatever type of recreational experience you want to have. In fact, if you're a visitor to the area and you don't visit them you're really missing out. Left the place clean and new. They took a list of all things wrong with the house before I moved in and charged me for it. Then said I took household apparel. Liars! They'll make up any excuse to take your whole deposit. Do not rent from here! Will never rent from these people again.
