Was also mobbed by a…read moregroup of ducks at ~05h30, they started walking right up to my car as I was pulling into a spot. Remember folks, don't feed the wildlife. I was concerned I might accidentally run over a duck when I left. Very cute regardless, especially hearing the pitter patter of duck feet hustling across the pavement. Additionally, I was treated to a couple of roosters singing their customary morning greeting. Sorry, no pictures of the roosters or ducks, I was still waking up and I was concerned when the ducks fearlessly approached my vehicle. Perhaps, next time?

As a NorCal native, I can tell you that…read morehiking the Shakota Trail to the Grazini Winery at the aptly named Winery Point is a "must do" if you're in the area! ++ The hike its self is fairly easy! Not a lot of elevation change to be had or difficult scrambles. Just an easy going wide packed-dirt trail. ++ Trails are well maintained! Just be cautious after a rainy season, as mud can be an issue. ++ Gorgeous views of Lake Mendocino as you hike along the shoreline. ++ What remains of the structures at the winery are covered with an assortment of creative graffiti and street-art. My personal favorite is Cat-Dog! ++ Great spot to pack in a picnic or for photos! Grazini Winery is def a wonderful hidden gem not to be missed in Northern California's beautiful wine country! **Caution: Some portions of the remaining structures are VERY close to a steep drop-off. Use caution when navigating the area!

Wright Peak Summit Trail is a beautiful hike in Lake County. If you are in the Kelseyville area, I…read morewould highly recommend it. The trail is about 7.5 miles in length with a steady incline. The parking lot is a decent size so we didn't have any issues with parking. The entire trail is wide and gravelly on a lot of the trail. It feels spacious and well maintained. Be careful going downhill due to the gravel and it is best to have hiking shoes and not running shoes to prevent from slipping. There is a decent amount of bathrooms along the way, which is great! There is limited shade so if you go in the summer, consider a hat. Also if going in the warmer months, I would come early to beat the heat. Bring lots of water to stay hydrated and possibly a picnic lunch to enjoy when you reach the top! You will see a historic cabin site along the way. The best view is from the top, which gives you panaramic lake views. It's truly beautiful and such an amazing reward when you reach the top! The views are spectacular!

Great space. Two parks, one for small dogs and one as the sign says is for "large and brave" dogs…read more The big dog park is plenty shady and tons of room for dog play. Definitely needs some TLC, particularly new mulch as the under mat is showing all over. Drinking fountain (human part) didn't work. At the small park it's full of foxtails and the drinking fountain didn't work at all (human or dog). The main sign is deceptive saying the low gap dog park requires leashes which just isn't accurate inside the fencing. Otherwise great park for your pup- just recommend to bring your own water for u and your fur child.

I came here this morning after a trip to the lake was a disaster... There was a foot race going on…read moreand my pup was way too by the racers dogs. This was my first time here and I was a little unprepared since the dog park was not our original plan, I had no ball or frisbee or anything to entertain my dog if there were no doggies at the park. Thankfully there are tennis balls around from previous visitors(thank you!). The water station for the dogs in the "Small & Shy" side was acting up, water wasnt flowing into it but someone was kind enough to leave an old plastic tupperware to use for filling. The dog park was clean & it looked like everyone did a great job at picking up after their pups. Will be back!

Fantastic Trail keeping the heart beating the whole time. Although on the outbound, and first part…read moreof the return, it feels like you've been walking uphill for days. As you can see by my track, I was unable to go the last 8th of a mile or so on the outbound leg because of a rapidly flowing river. I probably could have negotiated away across it, but with temperatures dropping, running the risk of being soaked was not worth any benefit. There is a junction during this hike, look for the confused chaotic walking in circles on my GPS track, with some very confusing no trespassing signs. This is one of those examples of a time you just have to follow the GPS even if it doesn't look like you're walking on a trail. About 25 ft of the trail is a little bit overgrown hiding the correct fork in the road. As usual, all trails had trouble tracking location compared to elevation. And when I compare the all trails route statistics to g a i a GPS, there's a half mile difference. I tend to trust g a i a GPS overall alltrails any day.
