Easy hike, terrain is not difficult footing even for kids. Parking lot right near trailhead, and seems like parking is not hugely popular so you're likely to get a spot. Cons: Looooooooong drive up... get ready to play I Spy with your kids for a good 20 minutes. Also if your passengers are prone to motion sickness, this isn't the greatest drive. Service vehicles also use the trail so if you have kids you'll need to keep them close by. Some areas may be muddy in winter months. If the bottom of the mountain is cold, it is WAY colder up here. Bring far more clothing than you might think is necessary.

The single track trails are well marked and very well kept. They are pretty smooth, and we didn't see any signs of erosion. We liked the variety of trails* -- a couple green circles, at least 10 blues, a couple black diamonds (we went on one and did not find it very technical) and even a double black diamond. You'll do plenty of climbing, but what goes up must come down, and there's a lot of it -- winding through trees, with switchbacks and some fun jumps. Make sure you carry a map, but if you don't, there is very little chance you'll get lost. (*I think it's a great place to practice riding with your new clipless pedals. I felt comfortable on the easier trails, and if you do fall, it's usually a pretty soft landing. I stayed un-clipped for the black diamonds just to be safe.) The $10/night campsites are extremely clean, and super roomy -- a great place for group camping. There are fire rings and convenient picnic benches at each site. There was only one pit toilet that we could find, but it never posed a problem for us. Campers respect the 11pm - 7am quiet hours. The only semi-bummer is the lack of potable water, so remember to bring plenty. There is a little market store 5 minutes away if you forget, or need more. Dogs are allowed, and are supposed to be on leash, although no one seems to mind if they are well-behaved off-leash. On a trail, however, I recommend you leash your dog as there are plenty of mountain bikers and horseback riders that will cross your path. ATV's and dirt bikes are not allowed, which keeps the park really quiet. All in all, we love this place!

Thank You for building this rink in lakeport!!!!!!! Gorgeous new smooth surface (do be aware that this is a small rink). Kept clean. They have skee ball (and an adorable little arcade space). I dislike the pvc pipe contraptions kids like to use to "learn" to skate here. They create dangerous conditions on the skate floor during open skate and I'm not convinced they really help people learn the balance points. Fewer of these, limiting their use to 30 minutes a person, only offering them for the first hour of a skate session or something, would be awesome. Some rinks use/offer these, some don't. This rink does. The skate fee is a bit high for folks who skate for athletics but seems right for recreation (ten bucks... this quickly becomes cost prohibitive for training volume visits but makes for a nice date night/family night). The staff here is rad. I've gotten consistent friendly treatment (from different folks over 3-4 spaced out visits). They hand out free skate passes when appropriate (a counter person missed the skates I brought once and accidentally charged a skates fee... was happy to hand me a pass. That's hospitality!) They "Up ticketed" me a few tickets so I could take home a plastic horse as my skee ball trophy. These are the kind of "nice perks" attitudes that keep people coming back. This seems like a fun place to work!

Excellent hay quality, water is kept clean for the horses, and all stalls and paddocks ample & kept clean. Very low incidence of equine colic. All fencing is kept maintained and in good condition. No broken down fencing anywhere, no barbed wire. Lovely trails and meadows to explore with your horse. The arena is Olympic in size and some of the best quality footing in the world. The owners really DO care about their facility and the care of the horses. Also, they have regular educational clinics in dressage, general horsemanship, cowboy dressage and etc. They encourage learning and are most supportive of their clientele. Worth it!

It is indeed right by the lake and the cays are on the opposite side. Great wildlife sightings including deer and geese and goslings !. The week we were there it was very quiet. The minuses: it's not well kept up. Weeds and overgrown grass everywhere. An otherwise nice view of the lake blocked by recycle bins and about 10 trash cans. At least one dog owner did not pick up after their pet so I picked up a fair amount of dog poop including one that sat in the concrete outside the laundry room for 3 days. The laundry room was surprisingly clean but some lowlife left a giant bag of their kitchen trash in the trash can. I don't think the park is looked after on a daily basis or this would have been picked up before I had to do it. As others have said this park is mostly occupied by older, unkempt RVs and motorhomes. Lots of trash everywhere tho maybe left by the day fishermen visiting the lake. Our outdoor space was very thorny so our dogs kept getting them stuck in their paws. Would not visit again. We would if it was maintained.

Attendant was super nice (and also surprised to see us). The course was fine but some holes didn't work that great. There was some raised carpet near some holes which redirected some balls. There was also at least hole where the main feature stopped working and they simply put a sign up saying not recommended to go this way. Course could definitely use some TLC. But we still had fun.
