Be ready for MASSIVE rate hikes after being there a couple months. You are threatening to send me…read moreto collections because I moved out one day after we were billed. You RAISED my rates 100% since I moved in a year ago. Been a faithful customer for 10+ YEARS. Ugh. Do better. #scammer #publicstoragescam #ihatepublicstorage #publicstorage

Stay away from Pubic Storage!! They bait you with "specials" and then start jacking up your rates…read moreafter just a couple of months. I'm not going to deal with companies that operate that way. I moved out at 10am on the first of the month. They charged me for another month anyway. I tried to argue that I was only in the unit for 10 hours of the new month, but they just repeat that it is their policy to charge for a full month as soon as the clock strikes midnight. And yes, that is their policy. Just know that it is hard and fast - there is no grace for special circumstances. Then silly me, I assumed they would charge that last month's rent using the same credit card they had been using all along. Nope. That would be way too easy. Somehow, they canceled my account before I moved out so they couldn't charge my credit card, but yet they were still able to charge my account for another month after I moved out at 10am on the first of the month. Explain that one! I found out about this by receiving a threatening text message from a collections company a few months later. Surprise! That last month they charged me for was never paid. Sure would have been nice to know that, but Public Storage does not communicate with their customers at all. You get to figure it out the hard way all by yourself. So I called them to try to take care of it over the phone. They offered to only charge me $20 to pay the balance over the phone! $20 fee to pay a balance over the phone! I hung up. Suffice it to say people - there are lots of storage companies out there that do not treat their customers like this. Do yourself a favor and save yourself a lot of grief and meet your storage needs somewhere else!
