Was once the best place for wine with a great whiskey and micro brew selection. With Walgreens taking it over all that is gone. Less than average wines mostly bottom to mid shelf choices. The liquor selection is all big brands now and the beer selection is what you find in most grocery now. It's sad it's lost it's luster. read more

This is my go to liquor store since it is attached to Rite-Aid and Sprouts is right next door. They recently renovated the store and it looks very organized and clean. The prices are excellent, they have a great selection of wine, beer and other spirits and they always have great discounts. Best liquor store in the area, hands down. Best prices by far. The everyday-pricing is darn good, and their specials are often the best in town. Seriously, I've seen pricing here that Tipsy's, Argonaut, and DaveCo don't touch. Their beer selection is good, with a good variety of local brews. Liquor selection always has a deep discount of some sort, usually at least 25% off of normal pricing. Check out their walk-in beer cooler at the very back. Looks like an employee area with sliding doors, but you can go in. Good for even a few extra minutes on a hot summer day to cool off. This is a good chance to pick up some of the cheap beers (Coors, Keystone, Corona, etc.) Only only only complaint? The registers and lines can back up a bit. Staff cards everyone... EVERYONE. Their point-of-sale machine requires an exact birthdate, so quit your bitchin' and dig out your ID. The staff is doing their jobs, lighten up ya old farts. read more

I have tried to find a better liquor store in that their liquor/wine selection is massive and their prices are some of the lowest that I have ever found. Now with the remodel the store looks much nicer plus they have a much larger beer and bomber selection. Can't walk-in here expecting to find your one brand on sale, you just have to buy something in that liquor style that is deeply discounted. I have been a loyal customer of Keg Liquors for many years despite their awful refrigeration system and spotty customer service. But yesterday I had to finally say I will never return. I purchased a shiner bock 1/4 keg along with some other items for a party and after returning home and tasting the beer, discovered that it had a very nasty and strong chemical taste. I returned to Keg Liquors asking for an exchange, at which point their 'supervisor' Bach refused the return. After merely tipping the keg on its edge he declared that clearly 2 gallons had been drunk from the keg that only contains 7.75 gallons to begin with. I insisted that he call his supervisor and after shuffling away for 10 minutes he returned and again refused the return or exchange. His only option was to allow me to purchase another keg. At full price. I asked if he could please contact his supervisor again, and after much argument, he again claimed to have called his supervisor or manager or owner. I was never sure who the mystery person he claimed to be calling was, as Bach refused to let me in on the conversation. Finally as some sort of pathetic compromise, Bach gave me the great deal of 15% off the purchase of a new keg. I had to laugh in his face. I have never dealt with customer service that was so awful. I'd liken it to eating 2 bites from a dish at a restaurant, discovering the food to be rotten, and then in turn having the chef refuse to make a new dish or give you a refund. So ultimately, don't ever buy a keg from keg liquors. Don't ever try to return a product that is old or has gone bad, and certainly don't expect to get any sort of customer service that can be deemed 'helpful.' Your best bet is to avoid this sorry excuse of business altogether. Keg Liquors = fail. Update: Rite Aid called me back a week later and offered up a full refund. They were very nice and renewed my impression of their customer service. read more

So this liquor store is a bit out of my range of "local" merchants, but I make the trek the extra mile because DAM, they've got good prices. I just found my favorite petite Syrah on sale for almost 3 dollars less than I've been paying. I'm almost pissed at my local wine store. They've obviously been ripping me off. It's next door to Sunflower Market, which is also a good thing b/c I can be getting quality foods with my cheap wine, instead of generic shit and over priced wine. Now I know why my ex-bf's dad used to get up on Satruday mornings and drive to 3 different stores to get canned goods, vegetables, and liquor. This LQ has everything, is open some holidays and has good prices. PLUS you can pick up some snackies and mouthwash from Rite Aid and purchase it right alongside your booze. They have a huge selection of beer, and a lot of singles so you can try stuff out. read more

This place is a godsend during the holidays when I don't have to cruise downtown to Argonaut or various specialty stores looking for select beers, hard liquors and specialty gifts for friends or family. I've found 3 of 4 specialty things here I was looking for, some of which Argonaut didn't even have. Inexpensive but tasty shiraz/syrah - where is it? Turns out there's an entire row devoted to the oversized "family gathering" bottles. Nice. I've discovered quite a few tasty brews here, either on my own or recommended from others. They offer some liquor specials available with Rite-Aid's "wellness+" card. Yes, apparently it's considered a factor of wellness to stock up on hooch. It's a little cerebral for humor but somewhat amusing, especially for anything other than wine, since 63% of studies reported in news say a glass now and then is good for you. They *do not* stock up, unfortunately, on the holiday variants that various Colorado breweries come out with when it's the season. You might find a few of the larger breweries' ones in cases like Breck, but nothing seasonal from Avery, Boulder Beer, Great Divide or others, that's over the span of 3 visits in late 2013. If they do stock them, they sell out quickly and don't have sufficient stock to refill the shelves. Better head downtown for that. read more

Amazing, simply amazing prices. Well organized, changing specials, and a very friendly and helpful staff. I love the wine area, the beer selection is astounding, and the basil Hayden's special, is a fish hook with some good eats on the end of it. I can't not buy it on sale. Yes, double negative = a positive. Affirmative, bourbon in the basket. Richard, and one other gentleman late night are the best cashiers. Super friendly, and always ask about your day. You always get carded, which is nice. I'm at that stage, even with my beautiful baby face where, now, I might get carded. Card me all day. Please, I love it. It's about 5 minutes out of my way home from work... worth it! They do wine tastings and stuff, too. If you are looking for cheap shots and a bottle of wine, I saw a lady the other day get 4 airplane shots and a bottle of wine for less than 10 bucks. Great selection and prices. BUT, they often charge a different and usually higher price than the one on the shelf. Apparently they have a hard time keeping their computer system up to date with current sales prices. Just ask them to read off the prices as they are recorded at point of sale and double-check your receipt. read more

Keg Liquors always has (had?) the best prices, really some dangerously ridiculous discounts. Selection is huge, I often find it difficult to pick what I want and end up leaving with weird things. As I have visited other liquor stores, I realize this place isn't supplying my upper tier of craft beer. I know shelf space is valuable, but Colorado Liquor Mart seems slightly smaller than Keg to me and yet that store has a bigger selection of craft beer. Also, CLM has sales associates that I can ask questions about while Keg seems to just hire stockers and cashiers. Still, it's right next to Sprouts which I shop at weekly and it's convenient for me to check this place out to see if there is any good sales on their beer going on. But other than there sales I prefer to shop elsewhere. read more

Been going here for years. Since the second remodeling, prices have gone up, up, up! Stll excellent selection. But come on... why do i need to be carded? I'm way over twenty one!!! Ridiculous! Been shopping more at King Soopers liquor on Leetsdale more and more. Closer and their prices are much better. Also at the Costco on S. Wadsworth for wine. Much better prices when I'm in that area I stock up. Keg is still good but they've slipped a few notches. read more

This store has great deals. They are attached to a Rite-Aid and have ridiculously late hours on a Sunday, which is a bonus. Because this store is in the same strip mall as Sunflower, one day I wanted to buy vodka and decided to check out Keg Liquors instead of my standby of Wallaby Liquors. To my surprise, our favorite vodka (Pearl) was on sale for a ridiculously cheap amount and I've been hooked ever since. I think some time last year, they began to require you to sign up for Rite Aid rewards program to get the sale prices, which is the same as signing up everywhere else. I don't bring the card in anymore and just give my phone number and they find me. Since I've started shopping here in the past 2 years, we have made numerous trips here. I hipped my bf to the fact that Keg Liquors was the place where I found great deals on vodka and now he shops there too. There are some larger liquor stores and some that have better selection, at least as far as beer is concerned, but for wine and hard liquor, the prices here can't be beat. I'm a fan! read more

This place is my local, nearby, go-to liquor store! They have amazing prices and they have such a great selection on beer, wine, liquor, mixers, you name it! I love this beer called Angry Orchard cider and they have it in all flavors. It's not the easiest one to find, but it's there! Not to mention SO many different fall brews and pumpkin beers(my favorite). The only minor gripe I have is the lack of cashiers sometimes. I'll go in in the evening after work and pick up a bottle of wine or a six pack and there will be a line 10 people deep right at the entrance. Maybe have more than one cashier during rush hour because I'm not the only one that wants to drink after a long day at work. This is probably one of the busiest times. read more

This place used to b 2 stars until they FINALLY replaced the beer cooler. Now u get cold beer to go with the low prices. Only problem I have is there keg deposit policy. If u use a card they put a hold on your account for the full price of the keg plus they charge you for the full price. Just stupid!! read more

One of the shops I don't mind spending money in. They have a good beer selection and they always have a a lot of specials. This is the cheapest place for beer in town, or at least within 5 miles. Let me start off by saying that I don't drink. So what are my qualifications to write a review about a liquor store ? Easy, it's call knowing a deal when I see one. Keg Liquors is attached to a Rite Aid. You walk from Tylenol and Diapers to Wine and Spirits. They have incredibly deals on top brands (or at least well known brands). This is random sample of what I paid for in the last few months: 1) Today: Lagavulin (Scotch)16 year...$69.99 + tax (normally retails for $99) 2) Last week: Grey Goose...$24.99 + tax (normally retails for $31.99) 3) Dec 2012: Johnny Walker Green...$45 + tax (normally retails for $69.99) So how do I get so lucky ? Being Rite Aid and Sprouts are next door, I'll wonder in regularly and look for deals. If I see it, I buy it. I tend to give alcohol as gifts so I get "top shelf" items at a discount. I know some of you are thinking that you can buy one in same spirits online at comparable price. That is true but factoring in shipping charges, it's going to be about the same total cost. Great liquor store with killer sales. The best part? They match prices from other stores ads in the newspaper. This is great when you come across the Applejack ad but don't want to drive to hell and back. The people that work there are always nice, but be careful, don't go at rush hour or on a Saturday afternoon. The lines can get long and the aisles are pretty narrow. read more

Great on prices - MANY issues with the personalities that work there. Some make fun of the customers - Some don't care if you have a cart - Don't see bringing in the carts as part of their job - Some who think it is a burden to give you a box. If you know your wines - your prices - and your goal - this is a great place for making wine purchases. Have sent notices to Rite-Aid on customer service experience but I'm not sure they care. They allow carts to sit out front - block handicapped parking - Carts just waiting to play bumper cars - That being said, there are a couple of checkers who are very nice to customers and prices are great for the informed consumer. read more

This is a great liquor store. They have a huge selection and their prices are excellent. I like to bake with liqueurs and they have a lot of small size samples at really good prices. I have never not found what I was looking for at Keg Liquors and I've always had good service as well. read more

The prices are great for the market, the are attached to a Rite Aid which in its own way is cool for convenience sake but....really your back cooler is broken and all your beer is warm and not really just warm but hot do to the lights! So how long has it been this way? It's been this way for five months really???
