Total Wine Denver is a joke. Become a Grand Reserve Member to get access to a lottery for BTAC/Pappy lottery finally win excited for the 2025 GTS release. They gave me a box and the letter of the 2025 GTS but gave me 2024 year GTS. I called and the woman who answered the phone said she was a manager said all they are required to give you is a GTS. Nothing to do with year or batch. Pathetic do not spend money at Total Wine. All they're worried about is selling you the spirits direct garbage because that's how the managers make their bonuses. Well lit, clean and well organized store. I found several hard to find allocated bottles I am able to find in Omaha. I was greeted by an associate who tried to sell me on a bottle i was not interested in. I am not sure why some folks give this place low marks because I've always found the service to be friendly, and the atmosphere to be light and breezy, not overly crowded, never too loud. My only real issue is I get a little lost browsing at the extensive selection of wines, beer, cordials, not to mention spirits and let's not forget the collection of different bitters, oh my! I was just in getting a few wines for gifts and ended up leaving with a highly rated tequila as well, that I've never tried, due to a knowledgeable staff member I got to talking with. The best part for me is getting to try featured products. They do this on the regular. I especially appreciate the local whiskeys, gin, vodka, and other spirits I've gotten to sample. They are knowledgeable about the products, how they are made, and all the different varieties and flavors. I've never been steered in the wrong direction here. I got a nice tequila bottle $130. Had some did not like it. I was going to just use it as a mixer and did not think much of it. I went back another day and an employe said bring it back get something u like. It was an expensive bottle that had 2 small shots the list missing from it. did. When I went back I encountered a lady manager (I wish I could Recall her name). I told her that someone said I can bring it back and she responded with "I love it when they say that" and was totally a jerk about it, then she was too busy to do it because she was going on lunch and I felt bad for the cashier. I frequent this store but this interaction left a bad taste in my mouth. I felt like the manager shamed me for returning a bottle I did like (btw was recommended by another employee) when they have a policy that allows it. Lame!! read more

Unlike our weird laws in South Carolina the store was all in one building. Our store in CHS the beer and wine is on one side while the liquor is out the door and has a different entrance. We had two nights of drinking ahead of us so I wanted to get some champagne and sour beers. Along with a bottle of boozy eggnog to add to my white elephant gift. There was so many helpful employees that I was overwhelmed by the great customer service. They had a guy who knew Prosecco's. They had a guy who knew sour beers. And since it was the middle of December it wasn't hard to find a bottle of boozy eggnog! My cousins and I found everything we were looking for. And everything we bought were huge hits. Total Wine has one of the best prices in town, we'd drive 30 - 35 mins to shop - especially during the pandemic, we spent a LOT of money here. Been to both locations near Park Meadows and Colorado Blvd but never felt compelled to leave a review until the interaction I had this last weekend. Don't get me wrong, I have always had great experiences at both locations. We walked in wanting to find a gift for a friend's bday and was standing in the tequila aisle when Derek A. walked up to us and offered assistance. I was reluctant at first because I was just going to pick something. Derek walked away and came back to check on us a few minutes later and really sold us on his knowledge with tequila - pretty funny guy (he should do stand up!). He gave us a quick rundown on some of his favorites and also some of his reasonings behind those that he doesn't love as much. We then come to find out his passion for bourbon and chatted about that too. He offered us to come back during Thu/Fri/Sat 2PM - 7PM to do tastings and also brought us over to smell some of his favorite bottles. His enthusiasm was infectious and really got us excited for the items we purchased that day. Then we went to check out and the lady that helped us (sorry didn't catch her name but she has a nose bridge piercing with super cute hair) had amazing energy as well, super helpful with all the customers in helping input phone numbers for rewards, asked about our day - her energy overall was just super positive. Shopping here was literally a breath of fresh air. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and assisted by an extremely knowledgeable gentleman. Love the curb-side pickup. I flew into town for skiing, and had placed the order online the day before. I pull into a spot, use their app to indicate I was there and which spot I was in, and there was literally someone at my car three minutes later with everything I'd ordered. Keep in mind the curb side is at the far end of the building nowhere near the main entrance; so drive past the entrance, past the supermarket next door, and around to that end of the building and you'll see the six marked spots for curb side. The signage is not very good so if you haven't been here before, especially if it's at night, it can be hard to find where curb-side is. read more

I shop elsewhere next time, as I am still waiting for delivery....which status unavailable on website nor anywhere else. Calling the store got me nothing. Update - someone called (was supposed to be a manger but was not) added another 30 minutes to the delivery time. AVOID AVOID AVOID Update - I asked for a bit of a refund for the 4 hours I've spent trying to get to customer service. Impressed as always by this chain. We've been to many in California and Arizona, and we're happy they're here. They carry a LARGE selection of products and the employees are friendly and helpful. Actually, I was on the hunt for GoT wines and found them here. The bad part? Sooooo many wines to look at before I spotted them as they are mixed in with everything else. If I could give this place 0 stars I would , I came in on Monday 24th around 12:00 pm trying to get everything for my daughter's 1 year celebration but you managed to ruined my whole day making me feel discriminated against and all these because I ask for a bottle of Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon, the so call manager (what a clown ) came at me insinuating that I was buying this wine for resale I tried explaining that this particular wine is my bosses favorite and I want it to surprise him with a bottle and I was told no because it was for resale and that YOU would not be able to sell anything to me even do I had 2 carts full of beers, tequila and ice, what a moron!! , you should not be working in SALES you should be in the back stocking or receiving you have the personality of a rock nonexistent, seems like you hate your patrons quit find something else to do . I had the hardest time trying to come up with a score for this company. I love that they have a huge selection overall and pretty good prices to boot. Walked into there around noon or so to buy some wine for an upcoming dinner event. Went searching around, I must have looked like a fish out of water, because a gentleman came over (shorter guy wearing a white shirt) and asked what I was looking for. I stated that I wasn't too sure other than I was looking for wine. He asked a few questions like "what type of food you are eating with?" and "what have you drank before?" and lead me on. We are trying out 2 Pinot Noirs and 1 Red Blended Wine. Oh, sweet, the trip is going well pretty good. But then it went down hill after that. As we went on our shopping, we passed a entertaining rant between 3 employees. One employee seemed like that they didn't really want to participate. One guy who was balls to the wall angry at another employee. It started out pretty innocent as the younger employee was being called out for not being able to find "beer on a F#@$'in shelf" and that "I don't need to be F#@!@'n doing your job." As we were walking a way we hear "F&ck This" and the angry guy burling by us. This was in the whiskey section where angry guy is on side yelling over the alcohol median to the other guy. In other words, it wasn't a quiet, private conversation. Finished up our shopping and checked out. Not sure if the cashier was paying attention, but said "have a good day" and was met with his back as he walked away. It is tough, because the store is so close with a wide variety of liquor but with that verbal exchange right in front of us. I may not go back there.
