Gone are the days where people understood the concept that lots of patrons CAN attend a movie…read morewithout being disruptive. So what is disruptive? Cell phone screens and /or audio or chat. Unruly kids. Any kind of conversation during the movie. Anything that detracts from the movies entertainment value. Hell movie theaters used to have Valets that monitored the event and enforced the general rules for admission. Since the theaters have quit, it was good that streaming came along. Now we can watch new releases without rude interuptions from other people. Actually save money too. So theaters will eventually become a thing of the past. Just like drive in theaters.

This theater is one I went to when The Camelot Theater, The Keith Albee Movie Theater and Cinema Theater didn't have the movies I wanted to see. I don't know if they have upgraded the seating, but you might have heard of the term "Down In Front" spoken from time to time. I came to this movie theater once with a friend who did not like Valentine's day mainly because we were both single. Going to this mall or the movies was tricky at times. Mainly because the last bus was around 5 or 6pm. If you missed this bus you either had a car, took a cab back to campus or walked back to school. Still, there were times I chanced watching a movie at the mall. Then I had to rush to the bus station in a hurry. Great times:)

My telephone rang and I picked up the phone.  A female started talking to me and it didn't take long to know this was a prank call.   Soon a second voice came on the phone and we ended up talking for a long time. Eventually I ended up meeting both of these ladies at different times.   When I met the second of the two ladies, we met at The Place Theater aka Camelot Theater.    I honestly do not remember what movie I was supposed to see with her, but I know there was a mix up about which movie theater we were supposed to go to.  We did end up meeting again with the other girl on the phone at the same theater again.  I honestly liked hanging out with the more mature girl. She was surprised,  because most guys went with her friend the blonde.  Since The Camelot Theater wasn't really a place to talk a woman when the movie started, it gave me time to think about my questions and how to phrase them.    I never bought popcorn for myself, but I did buy food for the ladies.   It's fun to think that I was in fact part of history...as far as this movie cinema is concerned.  The three movie cinemas I use to go to have all become non existent from the way I remember them. I am glad I had the chance to see them in their former glory. It's a shame this place isn't around anymore.

During the darker scenes, it wasn't really noticeable, but could be seen in lighter scenes. Who wants to go to a movie and stair at a stain in the screen? I don't. The sound system also sounds like it could use some updating. It doesn't sound crisp and I noticed that the sound seemed to come mostly from the right side of the screen. The seats are in serious need of replacement. Almost every one of them in the theater I was in has cracks. Some of them had such bad cracks that the foam padding was showing. The ceiling had some times that had obviously broke due to water leaks. I noticed that you can't get refills on pop and popcorn like you can at the other theaters around. I am pretty sure this place is locally owned, and i I usually like to support locally owned businesses, but I cannot recommend that you spend your money here. The other theater in town is so much nicer and clean. If stadium seating is your thing, go to Huntington.

When I opened the door to go inside I was hit with a stale musty smell. Once I got to my seat it didn't get any better. At one point we considered leaving because as you shifted around the odor would permeate. After the show ended , I used the flashlight from our phones to look at the seats. And they needed a good cleaning as well. Very disappointing that we spent a few dollars short of fifty dollars on tickets and popcorn and drinks to then sit in a gross theater.

Summer is here and they show a new movie each week with free admission to the youth of this community. Admission is cheaper than any other theater in the area. Tuesday is $5 admission on most movies. Everyday has a lower matinee admission price. The popcorn is always fresh. Concession prices are very reasonable. I do not know of any other theater that has cheaper. The theater is always clean. The restrooms are always clean and well stocked. Employees are polite and smile. There is plenty of parking.

For the first half like till 1 ish everyone can watch Tommies movies, snuggle pups and drink classy breakfast cocktails. What of the announcer is a little old man with a bow tie and his name is Hank. Hank Loves dogs and maybe he gets a little emotional when he talks about how bad they need homes.. that's going to tug on some heart strings.. you just drank 4 bloody Mary's and watched Tom fall in love with a stray cat and then Hank Gets up to showcase a poor puppy in need! He talks about how his late wife Darlene loved helping animals and her dying wish was for Hank to be happy and make the world a better place!! He pulls out a HANKerchief and wipes a solitary tear and smiles and says: I have had a wonderful life, and now it's time for Sampson to have a Wonderful life too, and a hopeful volunteer walks out showcasing a needy dog who has a big smile and is wearing a handsome vest, cause he gets a little cold sometimes.. awww. He love sleeping in the bed, under the covers and his favorite treat are little cubed sweet potato bites.. Hank says: he's a good good boi, and I'm hope that someone has it in their heart to give Sampson his forever home, and if you can't have pets then we hope you make a donation. What's this event called you ask? Hankering for Homes, I just got goosebumps typing that.. i hope that someone who has the money and drive finds it in their heart to organize this event, I would really like to attend... I digress, this is a fantastic venue with plenty of possibilities, but let's be honest, it was made for Hankering for Homes.
