This is how you do it folks!…read more Been here three times and we've had different dishes every time and so far everything is delicious. Service is on point, like I said I've been here three times in probably 5 months and the crazy thing is on both return trips the guy recognized me like this is the epitome of mom & pop business right here. You feel seen and you realize the money your paying for your delicious food is going to real folks and not some corporate overlord nonsense. The vibe of the place is an industrial-esque sports bar the style that was super popular during the hipster face of restauranteering where everyone was going for the stripped down minimalist aesthetic but for this place it works. They have high seats, low seats and a couple TVs playing live sports with no real obstructions. We always come at off peak hours so I'm not sure how packed it would get but this seems like a good place to catch a PPV fight or something IF they don't pack everyone in like sardines. The food, jeez I should have probably made this the start of the review the food is decadent. EVERY dish we've tried has been packed with flavor, healthy portions, and fair prices. I recommend anything on the menu but if you want to get out of your comfort zone get the balkan fries, they're so good you won't regret it! This is the kind of place you want to see in business the people rock, the food is great, and you feel like part of the community patronizing here.

I can't remember the name of their newest sandwich... but it smells and tastes delicious!…read more Think of a Balkan style Philly Cheesesteak with juicy pork shoulder on a hoagie. Smothered with cheese and their Balkan feta mix, it was absolutely a winner! Once again, just the very nicest family and great customer service!

They offer tasting experiences once a month where they use the products in recipes and you can reserve a spot on their website. I have not been to one yet, but it seems like a great way to learn and taste more about the jellies, jams and marmalades. They use local fresh ingredients and the glass bear jars are adorable and would make a great gift or to keep for yourself. Highly recommend stopping by their storefront or ordering online if you are unable to make it from 9am-2pm Tuesday through Saturday and they do suggest to call ahead before you visit.

Wow, what a great find in Escondido…read more I've driven by this place e several times not knowing what exactly it was. When I saw a coupon in the mail, I stopped by for some stocking stuffers. JellyBear sells locally crafted jellies, jams, and marmalade in glass honey-bear jars. There are plenty of options, and most if not all are locally sourced. Best gift option - Banana Rum-Raisin. This adult jam makes the best gift. Its uniqueness will be received with a big smile. For this one, just heat up the jam and pour some over vanilla ice cream to make an amazing Bananas Foster.. * Look for coupons. But if you can't find any, they have coupons located inside their storefront (buy 3 get one free). * Check hours.. The store usually closes at 2 pm. * Hecho en Escondido

Ooooooo! So I was craving some fresh avocados and saw a little street sign on my way home and lo…read moreand behold, a farm stand!! Super stoked!! Ok ok, I know what you're going to say, how there's "fruit stand (West)" also down the street which I've been and continue to support but I've found that they only tend to have fruits/veggies when in season or not at all. Also- the West place is a bit too expensive for my taste so thus my excitement when I found this new little place! A couple of older Mexican women (maybe mom and daughter) were listening to the radio, giggling about what they were listening to, when I drove up. The younger of the women shared what they had for sale (also in season stuff) but I was only interested in the avocados. $5 a bag for smaller ones and $1 each for bigger avocados. Most were semi-ripe or hard so can last up to couple of weeks. I paid in cash- unsure they take cards. This looks like a family small owned business so my guess is cash only. But don't quote me on that. They also had fresh honey, cooked nopales in jars, dragon fruit, mangos, cherries and other stuff that I can't think of right now. Great prices! Organic? Probably not but all good with me! Not sure if this is connected to the nursery but it's in the same location. Go support local family farms!
