(There are also some other businesses on the upper floors of the building.) The people who work here are great -- friendly and helpful. They also know what they're doing, and don't try to upsell or make you feel dumb for asking a question. The store has a wide variety of items, and a lot of things in a semi small space, but it doesn't feel messy or overstuffed. It's a very clean store, but not in a sterile untouchable way. I definitely recommend this place

He had called a different Lowe's location, but we ended up coming here because we were already in the area. We walk in and were helped immediately. The employee from the area helped to the best of his ability. I know not everyone is going to know everything about every item in a store, I was in that position once in my life as well. But it felt like an eternity here going over the batteries available. My Dad had a little bit of a hard time with the price. On the phone, remember, this was not the Indiana location, he was quoted a price that was not reflected on the shelf. He brought this up and was flat out told they wouldn't match a price from another location. Understandable, but what wasn't understandable was the reasoning this 'manager' gave us. I put manager in quotes because I don't think she really was and was just pulled over to make it seem that way. The reason she gave us was that other locations run different promotions. -_- Ah, nope, that's not how a national chain works. This isn't an Ace or True Value where you franchised with them. Lowe's is a national chain that runs the same sales at every single location. Girl, that didn't even make sense. I perseverated on that the rest of the day. The only good thing was that they had the battery, they took the old battery, and something about a core charge. I think I was disassociating at that point and not paying attention. This location used to be a dollar store. I was heading out to the grocery store the other day and needed just a few items for our new house. It could have waiting, but I figured I'd give this hardware store a try, since I was right there. I was looking for three things: numbers for our mailbox, a silver light switch cover (we were one short), and a plastic piece to go over a vent. Surprisingly, I found all three at this little gem. The only downside is that the switch covers only came in brown, cream, and white...no silver for a double switch. No worries. Since they were something like $1.39, I bought one for the time being until the next time I head out to Lowe's or Home Depot. On the down side...unfortunately, I don't think this place will get much business. It's in a bad location and really just can't compete with the bigger box stores. However, I hope it sticks around. The employees were more than helpful and I got a great big smile from the cashier. The prices are obviously a little more expensive than a bigger store, but they were not outrageous. For me, it was worth it to just have to drive a few miles down the road.

This was my favorite shop of the day on my little trek to Amish country. They had a little of…read moreeverything that the other shops had, and they had T-shirts that said "Smicksburg", just what we were looking for. I was also happy about the hot chocolate, as it turned out to be a very cold day. The woman at the counter was very sweet, and she made small talk with us as we shopped. We ended up bringing home some edible Amish goods, one of which was Amish popping corn that I made for some of my students. The pumpkin butter was also quite amazing. This is a must-stop if you are heading to Amish country and want some gifts to bring home.
