Our two and a half year old refrigerator stopped working. The staff at Home Depot (where the unit was purchased) told us that Stein Appliance provided service on out of warranty appliances. After booking a service appointment with their dispatcher and being assured that LG refrigerators were indeed repairable by their firm, two technicians showed up and announced that they in fact do NOT repair LG products. I was presented with an invoice and they left. Beware of this false advertising. read more

ZERO STARS but the review makes me give 1 Gas stove turns on by itself when the electrical is plugged into wall. Company sends out these guys. Worker has less than 2 years working with gas according to him. Shows up and we plug in stove he sees it heat up then proceeds to make calls but never actually does anything to the stove. Doesn't take anything apart to check or any kind of inspection of the stove. Would never recommend this company to anyone for any service. Will dissuade anyone from using this company. 6 visits they could not fix our washer that was under warranty. they eventually gave up and I dealt with Whirlpool. To be fair it might have been whirlpools fault for sending the wrong parts that may have damaged the washer. Still... very frustrating. read more

Booked service call 2 weeks out for a washer for an 8 hr window. Sat patiently all day. Husband came home for lunch asked if he can watch out while I had a shower. Finished shower seen my cell phone rang while i was in the shower. I called back. 30 mins passed. They informed me he knocked and no one answered. Which was a lie. They knocked on the adjacent duplex where it had a realtor key lock on the door. No one lives there. Was told to reschedule said a few f bombs girl hung up. Asked husband to call cause I was mad. He's pretty laid back. Lady hung up on him also. Let's say going with dale locklin repair 3 day wait with a 3 hr window. . Stein needs to wake up and fire a few people. read more

Complete rip off. It's incredible that Maytag dispatches this company. They tried to burn my mother who's 90. They tried to get $400 plus out of her for a $50 repair. 4 year old dryer. They've repaired it twice and charged both times. So much for the 10 year warrantee. Left her with no dryer for a month, while they scheduled the repair. read more

Not surprised to see negative reviews. Scheduled a service appointment and was promised the technician would be there in the afternoon so I took half a day off work (unpaid). Called to confirm the day of and was told the technician had been there first thing in the morning. Scheduled a second appointment and was promised we would be the first job of the day because my mother in law would be waiting for the technician before she headed to work. Call came in at noon to say the technician would be there shortly, after my mother in law already left. Scheduled a third appointment for next week, promised we will be the first job again. The light went out in my new Danby Freezer so I called the Warranty Company, Keith Stein Appliance Service. My call was answered by a very polite professional lady immediately who ascertained the problem. The receptionist took all my information and contacted Danby on my behalf and arranged for warranty work. An appointment was made for the 17 September with a reminder on the 16 September 2020. Gerry, the Technician attended as promised and inspected freezer. He ensured that the problem was just the light and not the compressor which gave me peace of mind. Gerry was very professional, knowledgable and polite and I could not have asked for a better tech. Steins has done warranty work for me several times in the past 15 years and I have always been happy with their work and professionalism. Thanks folks jobs well done I have noticed that there are several negative reviews below that are questionable. Keith Stein's Appliance Service is a local Belleville, Ontario business. The people posting are from Courtice, Gwillimbury and Bradford which are a 150 km plus. Steins does not service these areas which are quite far away. I'm sure these areas have their own small appliance repairs without calling in a Belleville company. read more

I found both the parent company out of Bellevelle and the repair men out of Port Sydney to be very professional and very competent. The were very responsive, showed up when they said they would and most importantly FIXED the brand new refrigerator that didn't work from new. Both Mike and Todd were excellent. read more

This company gives the worst customer service. I called Maytag for a repair and they sent out this company. They diagnosed the problems after three tries at the repair they still wanted to replace another part, This would bring the bill to almost $700 (the fridge itself cost $1200). I said that if they diagnosed the problem properly I would not be having the problem. I offered to pay for the parts but they should cover the labour. They refused. I asked for the owner to call me put the person on the phone said he would give him the message but he probably would not call. They said I should call Maytag maybe they would give me something. This was a complete mess during this process we have been without a fridge for over a week, the leak they where suppose to fix puddled and damaged our floor. My daughter came down and slipped on the puddle hurting her foot against our stove. This company will take no responsibility for work and actions, so if you have a Maytag appliance and Maytag wants to send out a repair guy ask if they have another supplier. read more

If they had zero stars I would be giving them that. Samsung Fan ceased and froze, we had an extended warranty on it with Comerco. Technician from Stein Appliances, contracted by Comerco came and fixed it back in June 2020. Shortly after our ice machine stopped working, they came back and replaced it in august. It was still leaking and making terrible ice. I've been trying to get it properly fixed for months now. Different techs would say different things. Finally one said it was the ice maker , so they replaced it Friday January 29 2021. Well that evening our fridge just stopped cooling the compressor stopped running. So the technician literally broke our fridge. We have been without since then and all my food is spoiled. I had a perfectly working fridge other than the ice maker, before Stein technicians broke it. We were not sent the same technicians the 10x they came to our house. During COVID I had multiple different men come to my home, which is completely wrong. Each time was a different technician and each time they would try to say something else was wrong, whether it was the fan, the ice maker, the control panel, or the seals on the fridge door. Stein repair techs have no clue what they were doing. In fact their technicians would blame one another for ordering the wrong parts. Now Im somehow expected to spend thousands out of my pocket to replace the fridge and all the food.... Stein Appliances and Comerco keep blaming each other and no one will own up. Stein should be replacing our full unit and paying for our food loss. It was their employee who broke the fridge. We should not be responsible for any monetary amount, since this was no fault if ours. I will be taking them to small claims court. Their general manager Ryan is completely useless at his job and should not be in charge if running this company. If I were the owner I would think twice about your business model and your employees. Wow Ted K. I just read your review and had the exact same experience. I would have rated zero stars but then would be unable to add my comments to warn the rest of you about the horrible customer service at Steins. I have never been more dissatisfied with a company in my life. We too had our fridge problem misdiagnosed, and we even had an error code to identify the real issue. The error code was completely ignored, and needless to say they replaced a parts that were not needed, despite their insistence the part was necessary, to only have to return and fix the real issue that was never addressed in the first place. This in turn resulted in bills totally over $500 for an older fridge. They did not keep us informed on what the real problem was (I don't think they knew) or the cost, or abreast of what was going on. We tried to speak to both Ryan and Toni, who are apparently in charge. They have no desire to help solve problems, listen to the customer, or even try to understand what happened....a complete waste of time!....I would also add their communication and customer service skills are extremely lacking at best....Their motto and mission is all about customer service, which is quite laughable. Toni the general manager cannot even return a phone call (on multiple occasions) to the customer, after promising to do so. How ignorant, that is not how you treat people, let alone customers. They do not take responsibility for their work or their actions, and the worst part is they simply DO NOT CARE.
