I Just had cataract surgery with Dr. Rundle at the St Joseph Pavilion Surgery Center with a excellent outcome. Dr. Rundle has extensive experience as a Physican and as attending Physican at UCI. I was a patient of his Father for many years and the acorns do not fall far from the tree! The staff in has office are efficent and well trained. It is a pleasure to be a patient of Dr. Rundle knowing you are with a physican who knows how to work on a case by case basis to achieve outcomes that are exceptional. I took both my parents to see Dr. Rundle for years. Although my insurance didn't allow me to see Dr. Rundle I was always impressed with the quality of care my parent's received. When the opportunity came for me to change insurance companies I made sure Dr. Rundle was in network. I was diagnosed with the start of cataracts five years ago and knew the time was approaching for the actual event. Sure enough, when I saw Dr. Rundle in late November he confirmed that the time had come. I never liked the idea of someone messing with my eyes so I was a little anxious about the upcoming procedure. Dr. Rundle and his staff put my fears to rest. Everything, and I mean everything, was explained. They made the process, which can seam a little overwhelming, very easy to follow. The day of the procedure came...and went. Total uneventful. I was very well taken care of at the Pavilion Surgery Center. I got there at 1:30 and I was heading home at 4:15. During the procedure I never felt a thing. I heard Dr. Rundle talking to me and giving me direction as to what to look at, which was a bright light with a couple of dark spots. Before I knew it I was done. That night, through the night, and into the next day was pain free. Not a twinge of any kind. No headache. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I chose the corrective lenses and what a difference! I can read everything close up or far away and everything in between. So when you're in Dr. Rundle's care you can put all your fears to rest. I have been using Dr Rundle for over 10 years. He performed cataract surgery on my right eye. He recommended this special lenses so I took his expertise advice. Surgery wen we'll. I had 20/20 eyesight. Then 10 yrs later I started having problems with my other eye. Of course I went back to him & had my 2nd cataract surgery with that special lenses. Surgery went well . BEST EYE DOCTOR IN THE OC AREA!!! I swear I'll never go to another eye doctor. Yes the wait time can be 2-3 hours but it is so worth it! Why go to a mediocre doctor for something as serious as your eyes just because they get you in and out faster! That to me mean they care less and just see you as a number. DR. KEITH cares about each of his patients as if they were his own family. He takes his time with each patient and lawyering g all questions to satisfaction. Which with some people may take some time depending on how many questions one person may have. He is also the go to doctor with emergency eye injuries and sometimes emergencies happen but wouldn't that make you feel more relieved knowing your going to the #1 eye doctor!? Dr Rundle did my husband's cataract surgery. He arrived 1 hr late for a 9:00am surgery with no explanation or apology. My husband was the first of the day with 2-3 patients after him. The next day after surgery he was another hour+ late for his appointment. My husband had no vision in that eye. Dr Rundle said there was part of the cataract still in his eye and that a retina specialist would have to deal with it. That meant another doctor and surgery. I felt he rushed through my husband's surgery to get to the others. Do not waste your time with this guy. There are too many other dr out there that value your time. read more

I had to wait 2.5 hours to see the doctor then once i got the bill they would not take my payment over the phone unless they charge me $10 service fee then they would not let me mail it in or else charge me the $10 fee They would only take checks. I explained i don't have checks, and they threatened me to send me to collections unless i pay the $10 fee. I said i would mail in the HSA credit card number and they said they still would charge me the $10 fee. I also explained i moved away and can't come into provide my credit card. They said oh well. I have been a patient since 2000, very disappointed!!! My last routine office visit (almost 3 hours), where he stuck a needle in the corner of my eye on a bump I have had for over 20 years that I was not complaining about. I was complaining about dry eyes and redness in both eyes, not the bump in one eye. I was under the impression this was a routine checkup, however, my insurance company was billed $650.00 additional to the routine visit, I am now stuck with a deductible balance. I would have never have asked for the procedure, which took a few minutes and did not accomplish anything, if the Doctor would have explained clearly that it was not part of the routine visit, I would have told him NO, it has not bothered me for over 20 years!!! I am in contact with the insurance company regarding this bill. Searching for a new Ophthalmologist. FYI: I had cataract surgery in 2001 on one eye with Dr. Herman Rundle. He is very knowledgeable in a plethora of eye health issues and finally found a great treatment for my clogged meibomian glands that had caused me severe eye dryness and inflammation for a year. Wait times are roughly two hours for an appointment that only lasts a few minutes, but it is worth it for his expertise and friendliness. Dr. Keith Rundle did my husbands cataract surgery and did a great job. Unfortunately when waiting at the office for your appointment it is ridiculous. My husband had an appointment at 4:00 he got put in a room and waited an hour or longer it is 6:00 and he just got seen. That is just not right the office people need to learn how to set appointments and not over book or whatever they do. Dr. Keith Rundle is an amazing doctor! He has successfully performed two cataract surgeries on me this year resulting in better eyesight than I have had since being a kid. The option for using the multi-focal Restor lens in one eye was an excellent choice. I have no need for glasses based on his excellent decisions and guidance on the correct lens for each eye. I truly appreciate his attention to detail and how thorough he is in analyzing and providing best solutions. He is a doctor who actually takes the time to listen and explains and answers my many questions. When it comes to eyesight you may not get a second chance - better to go with a doctor who is an expert in the field and minimize the chances of a bad situation. i also was impressed to learn he is a teaching doctor - that indicates he is current on new methods and improvements in his field. And that he works out of the Veterans hospital also is a plus in my book! Yes there is a wait at the office but I would rather wait for great service and the level of expertise I received than have a quick in/out visit with less than satisfactory results. People will wait in line for hours to get the new iphone so a couple of hours wait for great eyesight seems insignificant to me! His office staff is highly efficient and so very friendly. They always make you feel welcome. Plus they must like working for him as he has had basically the same staff for years. Even though Dr. Rundle is a faboulous doctor helping people with cataract and glaucoma patients he doesnt seem to understand that OUR time is as valuable as HIS. He always keeps elderly patients waiting two plus hours from each patients actual appointment time. This is so frustrating for those of us that have to bring our parents there to see him. The last time we were there at ouR appt time, he wasn't even in the building. Why does he schedule patients when he's not even there? I'm tired of my poor MOM waiting two hours to see her doctor.
