Trying to schedule my mother in law an appointment for double cataract surgery, where I preceded to tell the front desk I had trouble trying to schedule with OPI in Mentor, and I got a new referral for Kellis. In the midst of trying to get a date scheduled, she puts me on hold...for about 5-7 minutes to where she gets back on the phone and says their computer went down and can't schedule my mother in law because of downed computers. I said okay that's fine. When they come back up please just schedule my mother in law your first available appointment no matter when and I would get her there. She says okay no problem. I get no call back, so next day I call back to which I'm told they will not schedule my mother in law and my only option was to be sent to the office manager to know why?!?!? I'm not stupid.... The first call was her putting me on hold to call OPI to figure out what why it was so hard to schedule and I got black balled from scheduling with them.... How insanely unprofessional and actually illegal... HIPPA VIOLATION if I ever saw one... I wasn't even going to be the patient, I am my mother in law's caregiver so I schedule ALL her medical appointments...mind you with no problem! I filed a complaint with the Medical Board. Bunch of caddy, unprofessional people. Wouldn't trust them to do anything... don't go here! Ended up going 45 minutes in the opposite direction and was able to schedule her within 5 minutes with manners, respect and professionalism. read more

Long time established patient. Known autoimmune issues that affect eyesight. Vision rapidly failing. Still must wait 4 months for an appointment. Not cool. I have enough health issues. Don't need legal blindness on top of them read more

Recently had an upper Bleph and lower CO2 laser-treatment and things couldn't have gone any smoother. Dr. Kellis was my doctor thus he is the only one I can recommend. It's been less than a week and I can already see great results. Everything was so simple from the insurance verification process to the surgery day itself and the nurses in the surgery area were all so nice would definitely recommend.!!! read more

I advise you to choose another facility. They will take your money and not return calls after leaving several messages. Very unprofessional.

Dr. Johnson did my blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) I had very hard and long recovery with no noticeable results. Can't recommend.

I am torn when leaving this review. The first time I went, everyone was so nice. When I went back, the first person I saw, a surgical asst., did everything from face planting my head into the side of a machine 3 or 4 times telling me to put my chin in the chin holder (which I did) and I now have bruises on the side of my jaw, to arguing with me whether or not I want to see near or far. I told her that I wanted to be able to see up close without glasses. She continued, literally, ignoring what I was telling her about being able to see close and went on to tell me that Medicare only covers standard lens and I would only have the choice of seeing near or far. So I asked her, what about seeing 20/20. That's what my husband did when he had his eyes done, and she went on to explain again that same thing...she said, I don't know what your husband had, but Medicare only covers....etc.(I didn't bother explaining my husband has the same insurance I have.)So I again said, I want to be able to see near. I work on things like electrical circuits, 1mm beads and I can't put it any clearer. (Tapping my nails on the tabletop). Well then, you will have to wear glasses to see far....(sigh) I know. THEN, she proceeds to tell me I will need to see a pulmonologist to get a release, a cardiologist release and a release from my pcp. Because the paperwork said to list all the things you were diagnosed with in the past. I haven't seen a pulmonologist in over 20 years. I haven't had a doctor for close to 5 years and I never had a cardiologist. SO, I'm suppose to spend thousands of dollars for tests these doctors will put me through just to get my eyes done! Which will take God knows how long to get them done, so (I'm already completely blind in the right eye), Let's factor in time to find a pcp, then to find and be referred to said other 2 specialists, setting up the initial appts., then for each of them to exam and set up whatever tests said specialists will want to have done, then the time to get the results back, (Been there, done that over 20 years ago.) and THEN to come back to Kellis to get my eyes done. By the time I get all this done, it will be next year and I will be blind, not only in my right eye, but I will be blind, by then, in my left. I'm 65 yrs old. I'm not stupid. I've been to college in the 80s for Bus. Mgmt., the 90s for electrical engineering, and now for civil eng., and geology. I've been around the block and seen quite a lot. And this woman should not be in a position of dealing with the public,. Either that or should take classes to update her education not only in the field she chose, but in geriatrics on the account of having to deal mainly with the elderly. I don't want to go back there, which is a shame, the doctor is really nice. . read more

My wife and I, both saw a Dr. Johnson. My wife had a cataract removed , then later had both her eyes lasered, Unfortunently her vision now, is worse then when she first saw the doctor. I called a couple weeks ago, to make our annual eye exam appointment, I told the receptionist our Insurance, and that we both had seen Dr. Johnson, when we arrived to see the doctor she made our appointment with , they told us, they do not take our insurance ? This is after we had both been seeing Dr. Johnson for the last 6 to 7 years.? Maybe after them doing extensive remodeling of their facility, they no longer want to deal with their past loyal patients.? In my opinion, it is pretty sad, after telling them our insurance, and after seeing one of their doctors for many years, we take the time out of our schedule, we go in, and they have the odassity , to tell us, they do not take our insurance.? We, thought that Dr. Johnson, as a very nice dr. and maybe the firm he works for may be the reason he changed his policy, as to the patients he is allowed to see at this facility ? Extremely disapointed, former patients , Maybe we are not good enough for this facility.???? read more

My biggest complaint is that they are very bad about calling back when you leave messages, and I have had very rude people to deal with. I would never out right argue with a client about when they were last seen, but thats what I got when I said I thought I had been seen a little over a year ago. she could have been nicer about it. I have also had them tell me I never left a message when I had. On the other hand I love Dr. Barkan she is always pleasant and helpful, if it were not for her I would and have gone elsewhere. But I always come back for her. read more

Great service last year, but not this year . Due to two heart conditions and asthma my physician gave me a letter stating that it is not safe for me to wear a mask. Instead I wear a face shield. When I arrived for me appointment I advised the receptionist. She was very accommodating . Then a "professional" in a white coat walked by and without even reading the letter or speaking to me said "That doesn't fly here and walked away. I have never been treated with such rudeness by a "professional" before. I left and went to Geauga Eye and was treated quite well by real professionals. read more

Just moved to the area and woke up with a bulging eye that was very sore. It got bigger as the day wore on. I panicked, thinking I was going blind. I called them on a Sunday night and spoke to a Dr. Within the same call and four minutes. Everyone was super nice and helped calm me down. Very impressive!!! Thank you!!! read more

I visited this office for the first time today. From the start: calling and making appointment, to the end: leaving with relief and assurance.... all staff and professionals were courteous and knowledgeable. I went there with a major concern and everyone made me feel comfortable and didn't leave me sitting around waiting. Dr. Kellis and his staff members are absolutely amazing. My mom was diagnosed with a rare and complex eye condition. Not only did Dr. Kellis successfully performed the surgery with no issues, the office had taken very thorough steps to make us feel safe during the pandemic. My mom was seeing clearly again the next day. My family and I have been seeing Dr. Kellis and his colleagues for years. From myself to my parents to my 90+ year old grandma, I wouldn't trust anyone else with our eyes. read more

I have been going to Dr. Dawn Barkan for many years and absolutely love her as a physician and person. Very knowledgeable and caring and she goes above and beyond during the office visit. Her excellence of care keeps me coming back. I cannot say the same about the front desk staff. Consistently dismissive, sometimes even rude and always lacking in basic customer service. It's a shame that such a great group of physicians have such a poor front office staff. read more

She took my information quickly and efficiently, offered me my choice of two doctors and appointment times. I called to make an appointment with this place and the very unpleasant lady who answered the phone was short with me as if she was sizing me up to see if I was worthy of talking to. She asked what my insurance was, when I told her, she then abruptly stuck me on hold and hung up on me. I called back and left a message for her to call me back and she never did. How rude. With office staff like this, I won't waste my time going to this place. Too bad, it would have been close to home. read more
