It was easy to find and the location was very organized, clean and the staff was super attentive, professional, and friendly. I met with Dr. Anderson, gave him my symptoms and he did a thorough exam. He definitely said my symptoms weren't in my head and he immediately said he would call my VA doctor to let him know I should have further tests done that would have cost a lot out of pocket. Dr. Anderson was very knowledgeable, professional and caring. Due to his insight into my symptoms, my VA providers were able to complete further testing and found that I had more complicated issues with my spine than a diagnosis of neuropathy. To make a long story short, I had a spinal operation within a month or so after my visit with Dr. Anderson that was successful and I attribute this success to his medical knowledge, concern and quick call to my VA provider to get this resolved with the best outcome possible!

Would not recommend UPDATE: the doctor called me and reassured me I needed surgery and tried to schedule me. I got a second opinion and the newer doctor asked me "what was she thinking?!" IT'S A MIRACLE!!!!!!…read more I've been dealing with pain in my left knee for 30 years. It started when I was marathon training in 1988, and my knee hasn't been right since. I've been to an acupuncturist, a chiropractor, and a few other osteopathic doctors. The only thing that provided any relief were a series of steroid shots into my knee. These provided relief for an increasingly shorter period of time. The last time I had them my pain relief lasted about 3 months. For the entire 30 years of my medical treatment providers have been telling me that I have osteoarthritis, and that's what they've been treating. I visited this clinic several months ago, and they did x-rays which indicated that my problem is not osteoarthritis. The only problem is that my leg muscles are too tight! Joanne Halbrecht, the doc, manipulated my legs and determined that that's the only problem I have. She recommended I see a physical therapist, so I went to Katie Gaven at Boulder Higher Health. Katie recommended a series of stretches which I do every other day. These stretches reduced my pain by about 80%. I returned to Joanne with this report of 80% improvement. She recommended a daily regimen of glucosamine pills (a mixture of glucosamine, turmeric, etc). Since taking these my knee pain is almost non-existant. After thirty years of pain! THIS IS TRULY A MIRACLE. Bonus points: (1) The clinic sent me treatment summaries after each of my two visits. I've never had a doc do that before. I now have a record of what transpired in case I need it for whatever reason. (2) Joanne is a No-BS doc. When I asked her why my right knee, with equally tight leg muscles around it, didn't hurt, she said, "I don't know." How refreshing is that! (3) They have Sports Illustrated and free energy bars in the waiting area. (4) They send patients a satisfaction survey after the first visit. (5) Emily, who does the x-rays and information taking, is friendly, efficient, and competent. I've never been more satisfied with a medical professional than I am with Joanne and her staff. I give them my absolutely HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!

I'm sharing my experience in the hope it helps others make informed decisions…read more I initially had a positive experience at Boulder Regenerative Orthopedics. The first physician I worked with, Dr. Cummings, recommended starting conservatively with PRP and shockwave therapy. That treatment appeared to be effective--particularly in reducing tightness and scar tissue in my IT band. After that physician left the practice, my care transitioned to the primary doctor/owner, Dr. Mazzola. At that point, I was strongly encouraged to pursue stem cell therapy, which was presented as highly effective--particularly for healing tears and restoring function. Based on those discussions, I moved forward with the procedure, with the understanding that it could significantly improve my condition. Unfortunately, my experience did not match those expectations. One year later, after stem cell therapy, following the post-treatment protocol, daily PT, and deep tissue massage, follow-up imaging has shown no improvement, and in some respects, my condition appears to have worsened. In addition, the treatment was very costly and not covered by insurance, making the lack of results especially difficult. I want to be clear that regenerative medicine is a developing field, and outcomes may vary. However, I believe it's important for patients to have a balanced understanding of the limitations, uncertainty, and variability of stem cell treatments, particularly given the financial investment involved. If you are considering this route, I would strongly encourage: Seeking multiple medical opinions Asking for evidence specific to your condition Carefully weighing expected outcomes against cost There may be value in some of the more conservative therapies offered, based on my earlier experience. But I would urge caution and thorough due diligence before proceeding with more advanced and expensive interventions.

The next month, they insisted that my parent, somehow (with the same alleged 2-3 person assist) kept trying to escape and needed to go into infinitely more expensive memory care, so I asked them why the 2-3 people assisting them were helping my parent to escape? And could they please stop that? Magically after that, my elderly parent didn't need a 2-3 person assist anymore and no longer needed memory care. It was a "miracle!"

Our friend has a nice 1 bedroom apartment which included a large entryway with a kitchenette. There was enough room for a small dining table and chairs. Additionally, there was a separate living room and separate bedroom. Their check in process takes a couple of minutes and each visitor must register Our friend likes the staff and says the food is pretty good. The bottom line is: I highly recommend this place!!

The waiting room was a mass of people; like cattle being taken to slaughter. I waited 45 minutes to see someone. Most of the staff was kind and gave great explanations. However, the last guy was a waste of space; my short-term parking placard form was incomplete and incorrect, so I have to return to the DMV to resubmit corrected forms, which I'll be getting from my own physical therapist (take a referral from them? No, thanks.) Trying to reach a human was impossible by phone. Worst. Medical. Service. Ever. Full stop.

Throughout my care, Dr Gerlach was exemplary - he explained what was wrong with my back, what he could (and could not) do to help and what to expect during my treatment, surgery and recovery. I live in Castle Rock and for the right doctor don't mind the long drive. Dr Gerlach is that doctor and well worth the drive. I am pain free and physically active now.

My total visit with him lasted 10 minutes at best. After 2 prior cervical fusions, my imaging shows severe stenosis on the right, moderate on the left, a herniated disc above my fusion, and 2mm slippage of my vertebrae at flexion and extension. My symptoms include numbness in my right hand, tingling in the back of my neck and the side of my face, and ice pick headaches in the back of my head. His response was "those symptoms don't correlate with that level. Surgery is a 50/50 chance if you'll do better. You can get another ablation or steroid shots. But degeneration is normal as we age." Maybe we can explore this as a cause: Occipital neuralgia: This is a distinct condition that is often triggered by cervical spine issues, including herniated discs. Occipital neuralgia is caused by the irritation or compression of the occipital nerves that run from the upper spine to the scalp. It is characterized by sharp, stabbing, or electric-shock-like pain that can feel very similar to an ice pick headache. Or how about it can absolutely cause the symptoms I have: A herniated disc at the C3-C4 level of the cervical spine can cause various symptoms, including: Pain: Sharp, shooting pain in the neck that may radiate down the arm into the shoulder, hand, or fingers Pain that worsens with certain movements, such as bending the neck forward or backward Numbness and Tingling: Numbness or tingling in the shoulder, arm, hand, or fingers Pins and needles sensation That was it. Off I went with the name of a chiropractor and different pain management doctor. I'm sorry but there's nothing normal about the symptoms I'm feeling. So if it's not from that level, let's figure out where it's coming from and fix it. He was absolutely horrible. Pearson…read more On June 5, 2025, I had a telehealth appointment with a surgeon, Dr V at Boulder Community Health to review my EMG results and ongoing spine and nerve issues. I had waited 6 long months for this appointment, I had MRIs, CT scans, X-Rays and an EMG preparing for this and came in with the hope of receiving answers and professional guidance. My appointment was never with him it was set up with Dr Beasley and Liz her PA those are the people that I saw when I first came back to Boulder they're the ones who ordered the MRI the CT scan all of that they're the ones who ordered it and I was supposed to meet with Liz and Dr Beasley... Had been waiting months! And when I get into the meeting suddenly I'm told "oh they're not here anymore" both of them which is very strange a Red Flag IMO They didn't even give me the courtesy to tell me that I would be seeing this other surgeon and I have to tell you Dr Beasley and Liz always treated me wonderfully they're always very nice to me very compassionate you know very concerned... And then I get in with this guy and he is just horrible just just horrible... Literally the most arrogant medical professional I have ever been around and I have been around quite a few. Unfortunately, the interaction was deeply disappointing. I found the surgeon's manner dismissive and condescending. He cut me off repeatedly when I attempted to ask questions or clarify concerns, and I was left feeling disrespected, unheard, and invalidated -- especially given the seriousness of the symptoms I've been experiencing and my long history of spinal surgeries and pain. The surgeon made alarming claims that my prior surgeries were improperly performed and even stated that I was "scammed," referring to operations by well-respected providers, including one at Cedars-Sinai. Whether or not there was any surgical complication is a matter for proper medical evaluation -- not for throwing accusations during a brief, one-sided meeting where I wasn't allowed to respond fully. After the surgeon abruptly ended the appointment claiming an emergency, I was visibly upset and hung up after possibly saying "damn it" or something similar, no "F" word not even close! At no point did I curse at the provider or use abusive language toward the staff. The following day, I received a call from a staff member at BCH informing me that they would no longer be treating me, alleging that I had been disruptive and used inappropriate language. I categorically deny this. I believe I was dismissed unfairly because I expressed frustration over how I was treated -- not because I behaved in any threatening or disrespectful manner. While I will not be returning to BCH for further care, I want to have this statement on record to clarify the events from my point of view. I remain committed to finding appropriate medical support and healing, and I hope future providers will treat me with the professionalism and compassion every patient deserves. Regarding notes left in their response: The "Cursing and Hanging Up" Note This is classic CYA language (cover-your-ass). It's designed to discredit your emotional reaction without owning how they provoked it. Reality check: I was told that I was potentially "scammed" by previous surgeons, that my nerve has likely been trapped for years (which explains your suffering), and that permanent damage may have already happened. Then, the surgeon abruptly leaves--without compassion, clarity, or closure. If I muttered something while hanging up? That's human. They claimed I cursed at him because he had an emergency, that's complete baloney, My ex worked in emergency for over 20 years, that's is one thing I get, I did not curse at him period that is a LIE! I did call the front office afterwards and ask was he always this rude, which of course they did not expect, I was being honest he as well as his PA both were very rude to me. The Notes he left after my appointment were manipulative, and frankly, insulting. The "You Might Have Been Scammed" Comment Nowhere in his notes does Dr. V record his inflammatory accusation about my previous surgeries being a "scam." That alone shows his unprofessionalism: he wanted to sound like an insider but wasn't willing to put it in writing. I Was Not Overreacting--I was Dismissed and Gaslit I've been dealing with: Real debilitating pain for years every day all day Confirmed nerve damage A difficult surgical history A vulnerable post-op situation And then I get dumped on by a surgeon who made scary accusations, offered no emotional support, and had the gall to document the fallout as my fault. The encounter I experienced with anesthesiologist Dr Woodward who had My Life in his hands... was horrific. I did not feel safe!!!!! A horrible feeling while completely vulnerable. His ego, OMG. I hope the hospital HR reads this and contacts me. No call from anesthesia night prior- even tho I was told they would contact me- I had concerns, and questions. When I tried to have a pre-op conversation with DR Woodward, He shut me down repeatedly. All he cared about was my signature. Hurry up! Sign this. He just wanted to start. Seriously an absolute traumatic awful feeling. He was barking at the pre op nurse to hurry up with my IV. She was clearly rattled by him. My IV "blew". I complained. She made the decision to start another. He was clearly pissed at her decision and let me know "there is nothing sharp, nothing is hurting you". (As if at 66 years old I didn't know what an IV should feel like?") The second one started to hurt before it was in, now he got really pissed- he repeated his "nothing sharp statement", (I'd love to kick him in his testicular place and tell him it should not hurt because there is nothing sharp!" The nurse was trying her best to hurry under his command. Then he grabbed the mask. He couldn't bother with my needs. He just wanted to shut me up. He put me out! From the time he first introduced himself to the time he knocked me out- 6 minutes tops! Before the IV. In the pre-op room!! WTF???? I verbally told him I was anxious. My chart shows PTSD. I was actually crying! His action was far from "STANDARD of CARE"! He provided none of the bedside courtesy such as-"I'm doing this, next is this."----- Did I forget all this when I woke up? Nope! It is seared in my memory. Dear Dr Woodward- I am a kind person with a soul, not simply a case number and YOU did me very very wrong!! VERY VERY WRONG!!! I pray for GOD to touch you and help you understand how your negligent actions affect others. I deserved respect. I deserved kindness. I received neither. Maybe you should consider another line of work. The shoulder block you rushed to do was incorrectly placed numbing my diaphragm thus sending me home on oxygen (Your skill falls very short of your elevated ego). As I came out of anesthesia I I heard you tell the OR nurse that my heart rate dropped to 30 so u gave me a medication to correct this. I reported hearing this to my husband because it was concerning. I just read the surgical anesthesia report you prepared. You falsified the record indicating my heart rate fell to 40 not 30. You going to tell me I misheard?? Nope! I believe falsely documenting medical records is a crime!! I've had many (5) major surgeries including anesthesia. I'm fully educated on what a Standard of Care should be.
