While getting the initial diagnosis and support from Dr. Dressler was difficult, she has now become a partner and ally in my medical care. She did not have much guidance for me at first, but as I became proactive in my health care she has done everything she can to answer questions and provide for my medical needs. A 3-paragraph letter and our relationship is over? I don't even get a phone call? Breaking up with your doctor isn't quite as painful as with a significant other, but it still stings whenever I read that letter. I'd taken special care in selecting Dr. Miller. I'd researched top medical colleges, then searched through my insurance's list of in-network doctors, and narrowed my search according to college attended, and years in practice, then finally ended my search on Yelp. And now it looks like I have to go through this whole process all over again. What if another doctor rejects me? Will I ever find "the one". Why does it have to be so hard? I feel so alone. I guess Dr. Miller wasn't the one for me. Things happen for a reason and I know the right doctor is out there.
