When I first got there, the wait was intensely long, but during the visit it was like he was preparing you for a long life and a better one. He sees seniors and people with intense care. Dr. Russell isn't my doctor, but he's been my boyfriends doctor for over a few months now. Make appointments early in the morning, or you may experience some waiting. 6/5/17: Expect to wait 1-2+ hours after your scheduled appointment; bring entertainment, lunch, snacks, etc. His appt. was for 10:15am and it's 11:36am now, they ended up actually taking him in by about 12pm which caused him to be late for work. Update 8/4/17: We had an appointment made for 10:45am, we asked them how much longer and they said 1 more additional hour, by that time it was 11:45am... they asked my bf what he was here for, and he said his reasons but before he could finish they cut him off and asked if he went to get over the counter medicine, or to go to the ER? Yes, we've already visited a drug store, that's why we're at the doctors, to seek better assistance from his personal doctor so that we don't have to visit an emergency room. read more

I usually avoid one star reviews, because they seem unfair. In this case, 1 star is generous. I saw Dr. Kelly based on the recommendation of another doctor I saw. I needed a new primary care doctor to help me with my diabetes management and general health care. Here are the reasons Dr. Kelly deserves less than 1 star: *He made inappropriate jokes. *He made me put on a weird old lady style mumu that smelled musty for the exam. *He insisted on performing a breast exam during my first visit, which was to obtain prescriptions and referrals for my already well managed diabetes. *He's an RX writer, not a problem solver. He just wanted to throw more meds at me to treat symptoms, and even to treat things I didn't have symptoms for, instead of trying to understand the root of the issue. *Even though my AIC (average blood sugar reading) is good, he insisted on lecturing me about the standard Philippine diet, and how it has to be modified. Yelpers, I'm as Haole as they come. I told him I was vegan, that I ate a plant based diet. He kept telling me about limiting my portions of white rice, and instructed me to eat more breakfast cereal. I don't eat either of those things because they are carb killers! He didn't listen to anything I said, and just gave his canned, constantly repeated advice. *His office staff does not answer the phone consistently. They take two hour lunches. And when they don't answer, they don't accept messages. *Somehow, I have no idea how it's possible, he's always overbooked. If your appointment is at 10, plan to be seen at 12, and then rushed right back out the door. *They can't handle insurance claims to save their lives. For 6 months, they have been repeatedly filing to the wrong insurance office for my claim. Even though I have called and told them. They also have my SSN listed incorrectly. Repeatedly. Even after I have called and told them. *They overcharge. That diet lecture that was totally not applicable cost me more than $300. *They are totally incompetent. They didn't even get the Rx's called in correctly - which was the whole point of my visit. This place is a mess. If you have any choice at all, please choose elsewhere. I've never felt skeevier at a doc office than I did at this one, I got nothing out of it, and I'm still dealing with their incompetence six months later. Save yourself the hassle and pick a different doc! read more

Dr. Kelly is the ideal doctor! He really listens to you , and remembers important medical things about you( even after long time spans from your last visit). Dr. Kelly has helped and solved many medical issues I've had from minor to severe. His staff has provided me with great outside referrals when I needed it! I have now moved to the other side of the island but I refuse to seek another primary physician because I know I found a unicorn of primary physicians! read more

Dr. Kelly has been my general practitioner for the past 5 years and I can honestly say, I've never come across a physician who is as attentive and thorough as he is. He is one of the few physicians I've come across who's office is located on the westside of the island, so he's typically very busy; but he always takes the extra time to answer any and all questions I may have, and make sure I understand his prognosis and suggestions (if any). Him and his staff alike go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and comfortable which is my favorite part of visiting his office and why he's been my physician for so long. read more

Now that I have moved out of the area I still go to him. He takes the time to talk to his patients and he can relate to what they go thru. My entire family is now under his care. Unfortunately Dr Kelly is my physician. I typically spend an hour waiting in the waiting room despite scheduling the first appointment of the day. You see, I show up time and he is not in the office yet, as a matter of fact he typically does not arrive until 15 minutes after my scheduled time. By that time there are usually 3 other patients in the waiting room to see this one physician. If your time is important to you, then find another physician. read more

I personally have not been here but my fiance has. He has alot of issues that needs to be monitored by a doctor. And although he was happy with his provider (Dr Kelly) he has suddenly dropped the HMSA and didnt notify anyone at all. Not a call nor a letter nothing. I think that is very unprofessional on his part I wonder how many other patients needed his care that was under HMSA. Although he currently shows he accepts HMSA he has decided upon not accepting them. I get it if you dont want to take that insurance but common courtesy would be to inform your patients ahead of time of your decision therefore it would make transitioning to a new doctor much easier. Now he is out of his medication still looking for a doctor and he is in a lot of pain. I am at loss for words how he handled this. So if you plan on going there be sure NOT to have HMSA. All I can say is wow Dr Kelly wow very unprofessional on your part!!! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Kelly's for over 8 years. His practice has grown tremendously over that time. They are very accommodating to so many by fitting in unexpected emergency visits with seeing scheduled patients. It does mean longer wait times but only because he doesn't sacrifice time with any of the patients just because of that schedule. When you or a family member may have an emergency and need to get fit in, you will have an appreciation for them taking the time out to see you. Hopefully the wait is something you can get past because you will love the very sweet and knowledgeable nurses in the front and the back. Then you meet with Dr. Kelly who always takes his time to get to know you and your history. He is also very knowledgeable and an amazing teacher when you have questions or need to learn about something new. You absolutely feel like he puts your needs first when it's your turn. You do "get what you wait for"! If you want an excellent doctor and staff but know you are impatient about waiting, then you ARE looking in the wrong spot. read more
