I really liked this place. We were visiting Chico, and seeing what yelp had to say, and the…read morepub-plus-Magners-on-tap-plus-fun-looking-sandwiches made it a winner. We had kids with us, so we got there an hour before it became 21+. Everyone was friendly, the food came pretty quick relative to how hopping it was. We ordered: Pho-rench dip (w/fries)--I think this was a DDD sandwich, so it's not some hidden gem, but it was super tasty. You cannot go wrong. The slight lime-iness of the dipping broth really kicked it into turbo. Also, we all likes the steak fries--a note on that later. Chicken Cheese Steak (w/fries)--my wife loved it. I tried a bite, and it was great--a little mushroom-forward, but we like that. Mac and Cheese--do not be fooled by the slightly smaller bowl, it is very filling. My son can eat his birth weight in pasta, and he had to tap out! I tried a bite--it was creamy (not grainy at all), and was just the right amount of salty and cheese-funky. Grilled cheese and tomato soup (w/fries)--perhaps the least successful for my family, but only because my daughter prefers a smoky/spicy tomato soup, and this was more on the sweet side. The griled cheese was of the "crispy cheese on the outside" ilk, which my daughter thought was really good. So, totally would go again. IMPORTANT NOTE (to people traveling through Chico, or who don't want to take leftovers)--the sandwiches are pretty big, and the add-on fry order is also sizeable. If we were going again tomorrow, we would either order 1 fry instead of 3. Or split a sandwich. Very very good pub.

I would come back for that and sit at the bar! Service- absolutely awful. Our server, Hadley, was very cold, unwelcoming, unhospitable, never once smiled or even tried to fake excitement for having a guests. As someone who has been in the service industry for 20 years, I know first rule is drop your attitude at the door and be nice to the patrons spending their money. We came in to unwind and shake off some recent stresses in our life, she did a great job trying to spoil that for us.

We pretty much b-lined for Sierra Brewing as a layover on our way home. This place was great! We were quickly greeted/seated, and our first tasters arrived very quickly. The menu is a little narrow - pub focussed salads, sandwiches, and pizza, but there is a wide rang of offerings, and they usually have a few good specials as well. We split a beautiful salad, and each enjoyed separate entrees. I had a the fried chicken sandwich, and onion rings which were both excellent and abundant. My friend had a Cubano sandwich with fries -and it was quite tasty as well. We loved the wide range of special beers that don't get distribution. The facility was nice - and I had just visited the one in Asheville, NC as well - and the family resemblance was clear. Great stop if you are passing through the area and have any interest in Brewery Arts - they have something for everyone here!

The service here is great, staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The food is good, fresh and tasty. Nothing crazy mainly burgers and pizzas but that's a perfect combo of your coming here to drink beer...hello! They do have a bar there where you can order food and apps from. Lots of beer options to chose from. If you're planning a big party or graduation dinner/lunch/brunch definitely make a reservation otherwise you will be waiting. I booked this place for my daughter's graduation showed up 30 mins early and we still had to wait an additional 25 mins after our original reservation time. So be prepared.

This is a fantastic spot!…read more It ended up being near our hotel, so it wins for convenience, and it's downtown location. We didn't realize we were in for such a treat here though. They have an extensive menu, and it is set up so you can choose your own adventure, and put together exactly what you want, but I ended up going for the Rib Eye special breakfast which ended up being a great choice! Chicken Fried Steak and their Omelettes also looked like they were very popular. They also offer great mimosa specials, and if you order three (for $13?) they will let you share them among multilpe people! Had a couple of great breakfasts here and loved the old school diner vibe - service was super friendly as well! Great spot!

Each time we have gone, prices have been reasonable, portions good, service excellent, and the food great. It's an old mid-century diner (looks like an old Sambo's to me, similar to, but different from the classic Denny's buildings of that area) so has a great diner ambience. Service is friendly and very attentive. Chicken fried steak, huevos rancheros, and buttermilk pancakes are excellent (5 stars). Corned beef hash of very good (4 stars). They also offer a side of one pancake with some dishes instead of toast, and I really like that. Very few places still do that and they get extra points for that option. Chicken fried steak has a nice crispy coating and is nicely cooked. The buttermilk pancakes are particularly excellent. Not too big, nicely toasty on the outside, light on the inside.

If you're rolling through Chico and looking for a place that actually lives up to the name, Burgers…read more& Brew doesn't just talk a good game... it delivers for us! From the moment you walk up, it's got that classic brick and wood feel that says you're about to eat well. Step inside and you're greeted by a wall of taps that feels like a beer lover's playground. The place hums... great music, good energy, and a staff that's clearly in rhythm with it all. We didn't mess around with the order. My daughter went with the blue cheese burger special, her boyfriend took on the bacon jalapeño burger, and I went straight for the pastrami burger. Every one of them came out looking like a culinary masterpiece. The blue cheese had that perfect balance... bold but not overpowering as they are want to be. Her boyfriend said the bacon jalapeño brought just enough heat to keep things interesting without stealing the show, probably too weak for me ;). My pastrami burger was a heavyweight... stacked, savory, and the kind of messy you don't even try to clean up until you're done. Think Katz deli melding with a west coast hip scene burger. Now let's talk onion rings... because these deserve it. Golden, crispy, and just the right crunch when you bite in. Not greasy, not soggy, just dialed in exactly how they should be. Add the garlic sauce and now you're playing a different game altogether. That sauce is not optional, it's essential and fabulous on everything. The beer selection is deep, the kind where you stand there for a minute pretending you're making a thoughtful decision when really you just want to try everything. Service was on point from start to finish. No waiting around, no chasing anyone down... just attentive, easy, and done right. Only downside, and it's not really their fault, is parking. Downtown Chico can make you work a little for it. But once you're inside, with a cold beer in hand and a burger staring you down, you won't care how far you walked. I will be back, it is well worth the money.

I'm local. I hadn't been there for probably a year. The five star reviews seem to be from OOT…read moreparents dropping their kids off at Chico State, people who wouldn't notice if a penguin took a dump in their French fries, because they're understandably absorbed in their fleeing children's every word and deed on an emotional weekend. Burgers are "meh", and my only reason for going back is that they have an ok lamb burger, which I haven't otherwise found north of Sacramento (where there are much better lamb burgers). The place is absolutely filthy. Greasy fingerprints on every surface that could possibly display them. Spill residue and trash everywhere. There's absolutely no way that my wife would eat here. She hasn't been there in years, and now would turn around and leave as soon as she saw the place. Looking around while eating, I couldn't finish my meal, and I left. And I'm pretty easy. I like dives, but not filth. I don't think that this is meant to be a dive, AND it's progressively become a s******e. And, all the while, the "manager", who didn't appear to "manage" anything, except for conversation and passing out free beer samples to his buddies at the bar (one of whom was clearly, from their banter, a fired former employee), did nothing else but gossip and bitch about higher management, while the employees also had multiple free beer samples, and stood around and chatted with each other. While the environment grew even more disgusting. Shouldn't these people be trying to at least keep the the place presentable, if not really clean? Isn't this a regional chain? I'm sure that no one from Sacramento has been here recently. I don't like to see a business fail, but this one deserves to.
