Hannah House consistently provided the best experience across the several years they've been…read moreserving us. We experienced as many as five of their supervisors and the quality of our experience was the same--incredibly high. We've had two other supervisors across the years. I'll share more about the other two supervisors later in this review so you can appreciate Hannah House even more. Hard to find adequate supervisors for even the normal visitation. But this was a very complex situation with the ex-wife and her family and also with the emotional, physical, and mental issues the child was dealing with. Hannah House navigated all those due to their extensive experience, education, and ongoing professional development. Such as expertise in dealing with children with ADD. Their procedures were so very professional. Yet they were so personable with the child and all family members involved in the visitation. All five we experienced helped make each visitation a very enjoyable and special time for all. In addition, later in court, their credentials, vast experience, knowledge of family law, and professional procedures including copious and astute note taking of each visitation really paid off. They were perceived as extremely credible and presented the evidence that all was well and the need for supervision has been removed. To give you an idea of what you could experience if you don't use Hannah House. I'll share about the other two supervisors we suffered through. One, (not Hannah House) only lasted a day due to the behavior from the ex-wife's family. Another (not Hannah House) was seemingly okay until we found that every time after we left, he said the child was disrespectful, etc. and we felt the poor boy was ganged up on by supervisor. Also, we found out later in court that supervisor had also been telling a totally different story to the ex-wife. He was telling us that he didn't see the need for supervision and asked why was there supervision, etc. quite a few times. He even left us alone for 30 minutes to an hour to eat or shop. He felt completely comfortable with the father and son being together alone. And he told us he had cleared this with the ex-wife. But he was hiding it from them and also told the ex-wife and family just the opposite of what he was telling us. He said the son felt unsafe around the father, etc. He did this all to keep the visitation going and keep getting paid. In court, this all came out and he crumbled under cross-examination. All this to say, it can be a jungle out there. Make the right choice and use Hannah House! Finally, I have no idea why there is even one bad review. I think someone got mad at them and then had all their friends write bad reviews. Some bad reviews were even about the wrong business--a nail care business. Don't believe them. Use Hannah House!

They have a large selection of quality clothing in many sizes and styles. From babies to seniors. They also help those who have had a crisis such as a fire or natural disaster. Their volunteers are very help and make everyone feel special and they help them every step of the way.

Yesterday, I was blessed with the opportunity to volunteer at The Main Place. Prior to learning…read moreabout their services through my employer, I had never heard about them. Now, I can share their story to my fellow Yelpers! To begin, The Main Place is a non-profit organization that provides clothing to homeless teens in the area. Their unique motto is "A retail store without a cash register." Let's face it, there are many, many people who do not have a home, a place to call their own. Families live in their vehicles, kids "couch-hop" from one friend's home to another. These kids have no options and are stuck to make the best of their situations. Since there are other organizations that provide assistance, this organization opened to help clothe these teens. The Main Place originally started as a means to provide attire for proms for these kids. If you really think about it, it is such a loving idea. Most of these homeless kids who still attend school wear the same clothes daily, so of course, they would not have nice clothes to attend school dances that we all take for granted. Soon, the organization realized daily clothes are needed, as well. As mentioned prior, The Main Place is non-profit and is SOLELY run by 100% volunteers. NO employees. How it works: school counselors refer these kids to TMP, the kids are given vouchers, and it works by appointments only. The store is divided by little "stores"- a boys and girls dress clothes area, a girls prom wear, casual clothes for boys and girls, and items for infants. What I think is a great idea is that they have those areas that provide nice, dressy clothes that these kids can wear for job interviews. They, too, need to dress to impress. The director of TMP is a gal named Jennifer. Wow, I was so impressed with her. Her excitement was infectious! It was obvious just how much she loves this organization and helping those less fortunate. A couple of families arrived while we were there, and the volunteers got busy helping them, like a personal shopper! They put together entire wardrobes, right down to shoes, jewelry, and hats. It was wonderful to witness the joy on the teens' faces! If you have it in your heart (and closet), I ask that you please help this great, little "store." What they need: new and gently used clothes, shoes, and accessories. And, of course, money to pay for utilities. For those who work in the business world, they really need dressy clothes so these teens can look nice for interviews. Also, they really need new undergarments (would you wear used undies?), socks and shoes--especially ladies shoes that are small, like sizes 5-6. I'm right where I belong, in the City of Excellence ;) here's the thing... you aren't excellent if you aren't leaning in to help others. I'm passionate about a ton of things, giving back to others is one of the most important. I rescheduled my every 56 days blood donation to a nearby American Red Cross but being in my new town for two weeks seeing all that it gives, I knew it was time to research how I can make an immediate impact. North Texas Food Bank was a result of my research and I'm so excited about today's effort. After relocating I suppose it's quite fitting to select "Pack and Box" it's literally all I'd been doing the past few weeks, why stop now?!! I had the greatest first time volunteer experience. I signed up last night right before bed because and knew I was going to the gym at 6a with my neighbor so I selected the 1p (arrive by 1230p) time slot. Creating a new volunteer account was super straight forward. I was adding this event to my calendar within minutes. I was greeted by the sweetest ladies upon arrival, offered a locker key (wear a fanny pack if you don't have pockets and wish to bring your phone in) as you aren't wearing aprons. I left my phone in the locker. We did a brief orientation, hand washing and then volunteered for our assignments. I've put together a ton of boxes lately, so I opted for packing. I'm not certain I've ever handled so much boxed milk in my entire lifetime! I was first in the assembly line working hand in hand with Apple juice volunteer and let me just say, we did the damn thang!!! It was such a fun experience I never took a single break. My right arm will soon remind me of this fact. We packed 960 boxes, totaling 20 pallets, weighing 28,800 lbs, creating 24,000 meals! I'm a numbers nerd and love the data following your shift. It makes it that much more rewarding. Impact you can see and feel. There were several corporate groups, families and solo volunteers. Everyone was very kind. I'll definitely be volunteering here on a regular basis as my schedule provides. Thank you so much North Texas Food Bank! As a foodie, meals for those in need is a cause I hold near and dear to my heart. Highly recommend if you're looking to serve others. There are a variety of opportunities. I selected this one today but I may explore others in the near future. Hands down a superb way to spend 3 hours, and the warehouse is nice and cool on a warm day. The housing are basically like hotel rooms with 2 queen beds and bathroom. You have to clean up after yourself while you stay there. They have communal living rooms and play spaces for the children, a big courtyard, splash pad, communal dining room and kitchen. They also provide 3 meals a day. I am very thankful for all the volunteers and workers there.

Providing meals and lodging for families going thru difficult and often finically crippling medical issues. Many families here would have no other place to go for the weeks or months that their loved one(s) receive the medical attention they need. This facility is not just for those with limited recourses it is for everyone. if not for the folks here like we would be spending hours a day traveling instead of being at our sons' bedside at the hospital.
