I was pretty late at scheduling braces for my son and his crooked bottom teeth, with one tooth sticking out due to crowding. He wanted to make sure his teeth were good and braces could be off before his senior year. He got the top braces in June 2023 and bottom Sept 2023 beginning of his Sophomore year and just got them both removed yesterday at the end of junior year. right on time. Dr Gurstein worked hard at making sure his process was as quick as possible. His schedule was able to accommodate our after work and sports practice hours working sometimes late at night or even on weekends which was really helpful and I believe supported speeding up the process. Many offices don't support such schedules. My son's teeth look great and he's very happy with his results!!! Now he gets to have braces free Senior pictures with a straight smile. :) read more

I was a patient here a few years ago (using another name on this account). DO NOT USE DR. GURSTEIN. I got my braces done by him and he gave me ROOT RESORPTION on my four top front teeth. My teeth are so wiggly now they feel like they are going to fall out. I have gotten X-Rays done and multiple other opinions and all the other dentists I have seen confirmed that his care, aggressiveness with my braces, and teeth is what led to my root resorption. My teeth are short and stubby and it makes me want to cry. I can't even bite into apples anymore when my teeth used to be perfectly normal and strong. I am constantly in fear they are going to fall out. Stay far away unless you want him to ruin your teeth with his braces and give you root resorption. I'd give 0 stars if I could. I am not one to leave bad reviews but want to help warn anyone I can. read more

Many feel fear at the thought of a visit to their local orthodontist. Whether worried about a long course of braces or simply incompetence it remains true that many may abstain from this profession which wholly suffers from a severe case of floccinaucinihilipilification. Yet there are pillars of exemplary service among orthodontists, and Dr. Gurstein is verily one of them. In truth, time is required for any diligent work in orthodontics, but it passes fairly easily under the good doctor's gentle hand. His competency--made up of both honesty and attentiveness--will guide each patient through the journey that leads to a perfect smile. Personally, I started my journey with him in pretty bad shape. My palate was too narrow, I suffered from an underbite, and my teeth were horribly spaced. Successively, Dr. Gurstein treated each issue. The improvement was clear and visible over the years. Though there were inevitable hurdles, from brackets coming off to retainers breaking, Dr. Gurstein always came through. In fact, he still does. My braces came off over a year ago now, and yet he still schedules occasional visits to check my bite and retainers. I had been calling tons of orthodontists trying to get them to help me shave down the dental cement on my top permanent retainer so that I could completely bite down. Many wouldn't since they weren't my orthodontist or wanted to schedule me about two weeks away. I went to Dr. Gurstein to get braces as an adult (26 yrs) and could not be happier with my decision. He is very detailed and will make sure to address any concerns that you have. Even though my braces have been off for about a year now, I still visit him every three months and he takes his time to make sure my retainers fit just right and to make sure all is in order. The best thing about Dr. Gurstein's office is that they have flexible hours and I never had to take time off from work. I work almost an hour away but Dr. Gurstein always made time for me after hours so that I would never have to leave work early which was important to me. My daughter started going to Dr. Gurstein several years ago at the recommendation of a friend and I have been thrilled with Dr. Gurstein's orthodontic service. My daughter's teeth had a lot of issues and she had an expander (twice), headgear, elastics, braces and now a retainer.
