I can't say enough great things about Dr. Rumack and her staff! My newborn was struggling to latch on during feedings and I was told she has a minor tongue tie by my pediatrician and that it won't affect her latching. Dr. Rumack is a very knowledgeable, empathetic and professional provider. I had been working with lactation consultants because of my daughter's lip tie and tongue tie feeding was very difficult for her. She also had a lot of tightness in her neck and shoulders and jaw because of the tie. The procedure to revise both ties are done in the office as an outpatient procedure with a laser. There is very specific after-care that needs to be done to help the baby heal well, and the laser definitely helped facilitate that as opposed to the surgical cut which I know some places do for the ties as well. It can seem scary having your baby have a procedure like this done, but after being revised, my daughter was able to latch and stay on better, she started making more baby coos and sounds and started smiling so much more. If you are considering having a revision, they also recommended seeing a chiropractor for the baby to assist with the tightness that accompanies these kinds of ties. The chiro helped my baby so much in the postop as well as preop period! Like I said--Dr. Rumack is very knowledgeable! I tried everything I could to avoid doing the procedure, but her tongue tie was just too tight. It was affecting her latching and in general she was very tense as a little baby. Once my husband and I signed on to have it done -- We were also supported by our lactation consultant -- I would never ever go back. She sleeps better, she latched better, and believer it or not, she just more chill. That's just the procedure. Dr. Rumack and her staff are just really nice and comforting. We had an amazing experience with Dr. Rumack. We went to go see Dr. Rumack from a referral from our Pediatrician for our daughters tough tie. Our daughter was born with a tongue tie, and she was having a difficult time breastfeeding to the point that she lost more than 10% of her weight, and it was extremely painful for me. We made an immediate appointment with Dr. Rumack when my daughter was 7 days old (Dec 2024), was seen that day for the consultation and the procedure same day! The experience was great, the staff and Dr. Rumack were very caring, answered all our questions, showed us and educated us on what all it means to have a tongue tie, and after the procedure was done, we left confident that everything would be alright. They took their time, we didn't feel rushed, and they took care of our baby girl. The location was excellent, clean, and we appreciated how there was a little waiting room to feed baby as needed. Our daughter needed to get a frenectomy ASAP and let me tell you, we were so scared to go through with it. As a parent, the last thing you want to do is put your child through anything that may be less than comfy. We were highly recommended to see Dr. Rumack by multiple families who have had their children's releases done with Dr. Rumack. My husband and I are beyond thankful for the laser removal process Dr. Rumack did on our twin babies cheek and tongue ties. Our daughter was getting reflux, and would always be irritable when eating -crying, arching her back, pulling away...when she is otherwise an extremely happy baby. She would dribble a lot of milk, but we thought that was normal as a newborn. we asked our pediatrician, who told us not to waste our time doing laser removal for her ties, but rather to "manage the reflux"...we tried that, and not much got better, so we decided to consult a pediatrics dentist instead. Dr. Rumack discovered that our son also had ties, even though he didn't show many symptoms, and was kinda enough to perform the procedure for both babies within the same appointment. The follow up visits were very helpful, as we could see improvement within the first few weeks. I would highly recommend any parent who sees or suspects ties based on symptoms to go in and get an expert opinion (a dentist who deals with this daily, not pediatrician who does not) As a final mention, our daughter really struggled with and absolutely hated tummy time, and we later learned that the tightness from the ties was causing tightness in her neck muscles - which made it much harder and likely less pleasurable (as most babies already don't like tummy time to start) to try and hold her head up.. We have seen significant improvements in her neck mobility and ability to hold her head up since the procedure! I wish we would have done it sooner, as we did not go in until the twins were 11 weeks...but so thankful we did it! read more

From beginning to end, Dr. Rumack and everyone I came into contact with at her office were amazing! And here's why. The day after my son, our second child, was born we learned that he had a tongue-tie that needed to be revised in order to help him latch and breastfeed easier. I called Dr. Rumack's office that same day and learned that she was booked out for weeks. However, they made time to see us the next day. Dr. Rumack pointed out the problems we are likely to run into if my son doesn't get the frenectomy. It was like she was describing the experience we had with my first child, our now two-year-old daughter, who also had a tongue-tie. Only we elected not to perform the frenectomy at the time because no one could give us a definitive answer as to why my daughter was not latching properly. That led us down a stressful road of making sure my daughter was getting enough milk from breastfeeding, counting dirty diapers, watching our baby's weight obsessively, and eventually switching to formula sooner than we had hoped (3 weeks after birth). We had hoped for a corrective experience with our second child and we're happy Dr. Rumack helped to make that possible. She understood the urgency of our situation and fit us in immediately to complete the frenectomy. Dr. Rumack gave me clear instructions post-op and demonstrated a few exercises I needed to continue with my son to avoid a regrowth of the tongue-tie. The exercises bothered my son for the first two days and he was used to it after. What seemed like a nightmare situation actually turned out to be very easy to manage. I brought my newborn daughter to Dr. Rumack to fix her tongue tie two days after birth - a procedure I recently learned that a pediatric dentist can correct using an outpatient laser procedure. She was kind enough to fit us in and see us urgently to allow my daughter the best opportunity to eat properly. She saw us on time and got to know us a little bit before performing the procedure. The procedure itself lasted less than 5 minutes and was fairly painless for my baby. Her office gave me instructions on the wound's after care as well as made me feel very supported in the event anything we're to change with the healing process. They also gave us tips and tricks on how to prevent the tie from growing back. Dr. Rumack not only is very professional and kind but works very well with families (this was our first experience with a pediatric dentist). She was patient with us and our newborn and was extremely knowledgeable about tongue and lip ties and all the areas in which releasing it would effect. Our daughter had a suspected tongue tie, lip tie, and buccal ties. We were referred to Dr. Rumack by our IBCLC to have them taken care of for a better latch. Dr. Rumack's office made a next day appt for us and explained everything over the phone including cost and how to prepare. Dr. Rumack and her staff are friendly, courteous and very professional. We felt comfortable and safe having this procedure done with her. We researched a lot of options including cutting by an ENT and felt that the laser method used by this office was the best choice. Our daughter healed perfectly and now eats in 20 minutes instead of an hour. Her gas is better, she has less spit up, and is sleeping better. My wife was having an exceptionally painful breast feeding experience. She would say her nipples felt like they had been run over by a car and set on fire. We spoke with numerous lactation consultants and the one that truly ended up helping was Candice J. of Goldilacts. She did a virtual consult with us and recommended Dr. Rumack after determining that our wee one likely had a tongue tie. We visited Dr. Rumack and, first of all, she is LOVELY. She did a preliminary exam and found that the little guy had both a tongue and upper lip tie. We decided to have her "revise" them right then and there with her fancy laser technique. He seemed largely unimpacted by the procedure, made not a peep and left as peacefully as he arrived. After a short 10 days of coconut oil application for healing, and a month's worth of healing for my wife, she felt an impulse to try again one night, and lo and behold there was no more pain.
