The one thing that hit a nerve with me was that he told me I did not need my medication for postpartum anxiety- that I should get a second opinion and that chiropractic adjustment would solve it. I guess my obstetrician and medical doctors opinions were not as good as a chiropractor who doesn't even have a medical degree? He did some minor adjustments (which made me feel substantially worse than when I walked in and after which I could barely hold my 8 month old baby for hours) and then sent me on my way to get X-rays and book my next appointment. If you are looking for a chiropractor with a "holier than thou" attitude who tries to weigh in on medical conditions outside of his scope, then this is the place for you. If not, I suggest you go somewhere else. ETA: the office charged my insurance $500 for this visit of which I owe $272. So basically for doing nothing but attempt to convince me that I shouldn't listen to my real doctors and for making me feel worse. I've had chiropractic work done before at another local place in Wanaque (which this doctor had nothing good to say about) and had more success for less money than going here.

I came to Dr. Joe with the mindset that this was my last stop before I would need to get surgery, because I could barely walk or even put socks on myself without someone's help. Being in my young 20's, this was clearly not the route I wanted to take (surgery). After in depth conversations with Dr. Joe, he felt confident that in time I could be back to my normal routine (I am extremely active and love to workout/hike/ etc.) with the right program. It's funny because even after knowing him for all these years, he never ceases to amaze me with his knowledge and extraordinary capabilities. Most recently, I started to notice weakness in my left side. I couldn't left anything with my left arm. I first noticed it when I tried to lift my three pound laptop with only my left hand. No matter how hard I tried the laptop would not budge. I knew something was wrong, so I made an appointment with a neurologist. The neurologist confirmed that I had weakness in my left side and was concerned. He ordered a bunch of tests, some very painful, to rule out some of the more scary possibilities. After the MRIs and visits to his office...he discovered...it was...NOTHING. Nothing. He said the tests said I was fine! (besides a minor pinched nerve in my elbow) Basically, he said I could go home happy with the knowledge that I was 100% healthy. One problem. I STILL COULDN'T LIFT THINGS WITH MY LEFT SIDE. That is where the always brilliant Dr. Joe comes in. I went to visit him and told him about my problem. He asked a few questions, checked my strength, and then did a quick adjustment of my neck. This is where the miracle comes in. Immediately after receiving my adjustment I was able to lift things with my left side. I couldn't remember the last time I was able to do that. As soon as I got home, I passed the ultimate test: I was able to lift my laptop over my head. For the first time in my life, the left side of my body felt STRONGER than the right side. I am continuing to see Dr. Joe for this issue and am feeling better every day. You don't have to live with pain, discomfort, or the inability to do simple tasks like lifting objects with your left hand. If you are having any kind of pain or just want to prevent any future spine issues, go see Dr. Joe or Dr. Briana. I HIGHLY recommend them both. And really...that should be all you need to make your decision.
