After long deliberation and research regarding what type of gun I wanted to purchase, I should have been researching where I would purchase my gun. We are truly living in a unique time. I was totally disrespected the moment I walked through the door. I was wearing a personal respirator to protect myself from the current pandemic outbreak of COVID 19, because I'm in that high risk category. I was told on no uncertain terms that I couldn't be in the store with it on, so because I really wanted my gun, I removed the mask. There was only one other customer in the story and one young individual behind the counter. He was very rude in our initial exchange and continued to be rude the remainder of my short visit in the store. He asked me what I needed, I replied Mossberg 500 Sawed off rifle with a pistol grip. He pointed out the case. I looked for the gun from the pictures on the internet and saw the one I wanted. He asked me if I was familiar with the gun and I said yes because my familiarity was from my research. He told me it wasn't a Mossberg 500, so now I'm looking confused because it looks just like the ones from my research. He walks over and shows me a Mossberg 500 that has a long barrel and you have to convert the butt into a pistol grip. Already I know this isn't the gun for me because I don't want to work to make it what I want I just want what I want. So, I point to the style of gun I want and was told it was a Mossberg 590. So, I asked the price which was doubled what was quoted the previous day on the phone. So, before I spend that amount of money I wanted to talk to my daughter who's prior Security Forces for the USAF, because she knows her weapons and I respect her opinion. That's when the real craziness started. The younger man asked me who I was calling, in my mind that wasn't any of his business. So, I said I was just making sure this was worth my money. Then he told me he couldn't sell me the gun. I asked why and he said I was buying the gun for someone else, I was acting "shady" I know my faces just dropped because this man was questioning my integrity and he didn't even know me. So, then the older man asked me what I was wearing and I told him it was a respirator. He asked me then asked me who I was calling, again not his business so again I stated that I wanted to make sure such a purchase was what I wanted. He said that he was going to make the decision for me he wasn't selling me that gun or any gun. So, knowing that's his right, I said thank you and left the store. My daughter already has her permit and purchased her gun from this store hence my choosing it. So, I called her to see if they questioned her, if this was normal. I needed a comparison of my experience trying to do business with this organization. She said no, she told them what she wanted and they sold it to her. I am very frustrated by this experience and after reading the reviews I would not recommend this business to the following individuals; WOMEN, AFRICAN AMERICANS, anyone that has a QUESTION regarding a gun and wants to discuss it before the purchase. This is a private business, that sells and advertise to the public, why not just advertise to the demographics that you would prefer to sell your guns to? Don't be afraid to admit you are racist! The Constitution gives every American the right to bear arms, it should regulate more closely who sells them and their motivation to only arm certain people at their choosing.
