The fried chicken is awesome. I had the sandwich with two huge tenders and potato wedges and drink. The chicken is awesome and crispy. Their sauce is amazing and the service was quick and friendly. I would definitely recommend the chicken sandwich but their other chicken looked crispy and fresh too. My wife got one of their gourmet sandwiches, the turkey Ruben, and she loved that as well. Lots of choices and homemade sides as well. Overall a great place to feed the whole family. We were glad we stopped there. read more

I saw this advertised on line and thought it sounded like a really cool place to go for a day trip. Similar to the places you see on food network. Took the family and was completely shocked! It was nothing more than a dumpy gas station. There was no Deli food set up. Only cheap looking pre wrapped items. There was no place to sit outside and watch the airplanes, like it said. They only had an old picnic table by a dumpster and the view of the airport was blocked by vegetation. I complete waste of time. The owners COULD make this a cool place. read more

Admittedly, our gas pump worked perfectly and we didn't go into the store, so I am rating this BP solely on the condition of the outside. The whole place just advertised "we don't care". The grounds were messy, the garbage was overflowing, there were no paper towels in the pump Island trash cans and the squeegee actually made my windshield dirtier. There was algae growing in the squeegee water, so I know it wasn't a one-day problem. This place could be so nice - please don't be so lazy! read more

This place is a regular stop for us. We've been visiting for years. Today we got a sandwich to go and were waited on by someone who has no place in customer service. He is the one with a beard and has scary eyes. He was pretty nasty to everyone. The guy making our sandwich was wonderful. read more

I have frequented this convenient gourmet sandwich shop many times and have never been disappointed but recently my expectations were far surpassed! My husband had been in the hospital for over an week and coming home one evening, I wanted to pick up something very quick for dinner for us, not having any energy to cook. Gus and Jacob (very sweet guys who lifted my spirits) made me the most incredible sandwiches. The Beef & Brie sandwich was on a very fresh baguette with seasoned beef and the delicious Brie/tomato/lettuce/mayo combination made everything taste amazing! Gus smartly recommended my husband have the crab cake sandwich as his heart diet calls for reduced sodium. The sandwich was absolutely divine.... very little filler in the cake and the crab was perfectly crisped on the outside and tucked inside a fresh bun with lettuce and tomato. I was so impressed with these guys for making such great sandwiches and the friendly, caring demeanor they exuded. I look forward to trying the other gourmet items on the menu as I know I'll be stopping in frequently! read more

I used to fly into the adjacent airport for crab cakes here, but we stopped off on a recent road trip, right before closing, with three children (aka, we were high maintenance customers), and Matt and Gus could not have been any nicer or more helpful. This is an upscale convenience store, but with a world-class deli in it. The crab cakes are solid as ever, and the other food is as good as any that you'll get in the area. They were patient with the kids ordering, and helpfully packaged some of the food that the kids couldn't eat just then so that it survived the rest of our trip, and all of it was fantastic. The only thing that I miss is the local (Chesapeake) Ice Cream that they used to sell (which I believe is not made anymore, so this is not on them!) HIGHLY recommended as a stopover when you next cross the Bay Bridge. (Very easy on/off, as well.) read more

I'll give it 5 stars on the gas station food scale. Legitimate higher end deli food, gourmet might be a stretch, but not too much. Nice wine selection, and the basics. They carry homemade crab cakes, and you gotta try the cranberry chicken salad, yum! Walkable from the airport if you are a pilot. read more

Kent Island depot is the premiere place to fuel up and get gourmet sandwiches on the Island. From their hot breakfast bar, sandwiches, veggie wraps and turkey clubs, you can't go wrong. The ingredients are fresh and oh my God the manager Kyle is a total smoke show. Sometimes I just go to watch Kyle make food because I cannot state this enough, I want to tie his ponytail to my bedpost. Wine and beer selection is vast, exotic and vibrant, but Kyle is the spotlight. The chef Cody is a stellar gentleman and makes the best breakfast on Kent Island (Cracker Barrel, Dennys and iHop could learn a thing or two). His calm, polite demeanor when making food always makes my day. If Kyle wanted, he could have me. Sometimes the diesel pump is uncooperative. 5 stars, hands down. read more

I've been hearing about this place for years. A good friend once claimed that the best crab cake he ever had was in, of all places, a gas station convenience store on Kent Island. And so I've been enjoying the crab cakes here for years. Not sure if the best ever, but very near the top in any case. This morning I tried the sausage egg and cheese on english muffin. Absolutely outstanding--a huge sandwich, freshly made, with tons of sausage. Perhaps the best breakfast sandwich I've had in years. Best gas station on kent island. The guys who work here are awesome especially the handsome blonde boy with the blue eyes. It seems he is the funny one and the other two try to copy him with little to mild success. Overall the selection of wine, beer, and sandwiches is very good and the mysterious and handsome blonde kid is reason enough to stop in. read more

The Kent Island BP Gourmet Deli has become a huge disappointment since ownership changed. The employees are insolent, the telephones are frequently not answered and the quality of the deli and store merchandise has diminished. Rather than hoping for an improvement, I'm looking for alternatives to what used to be a convenient place to get high quality food on the go. Huge disappointment. read more

The lady who works there is friendly, and makes a good team with the handsome yet mysterious boy with the luscious blond locks. She even remembered me when I stopped in a second time almost 26 hours later! Can't beat service like that. 10/5 stars will continue to go as often as I ever have. read more
