Movers showed up about an hour late on moving day. Apparently short-handed because one employee was a no-show. I was moving a 3 bedroom home with a finished basement and it could not be done with only 2 guys. Finally a 3rd guy shows up and he's so obese he could barely get up the stairs to the 2nd floor. Kept whining about it every time he had to make a trip. He had a plumbers crack and every time he lifted a box he farted. Loudly. And it literally stunk up my house. Even the other movers were gagging. After almost 8 hrs they finally loaded up the trucks. Yes, trucks. Instead of sending a semi with a 48' trailer the sent two 24' trucks. Anyway, the next day they showed up on time for the delivery and had the trucks emptied in a couple of hours (they brought 6 guys this time). Even though the boxes were clearly marked, I am to this day finding boxes in the strangest places. Several boxes were crushed but the contents somehow survived. I went back to my old house to meet the cleaning crew and discovered on of the movers had used the upstairs bathroom (which is ok) but somehow managed to clog it up and it overflowed. Can you imagine the smell after the 5 days??? I was livid because I ended up having to clean it up myself. I discovered a recliner upstairs that had been left behind and had to fight with the owner, Doug, to get someone to come back and pick it up. Then I discovered damage on a wall and again got the run around. This time Doug says I have to pay the charges to have the left-behind chair. Then He hung up on me after I got upset with him. He's not used to people pushing back. Needless to say, I wouldn't use this moving company if you put a gun to my head. read more

Worse Moving Company EVER !!!! Gabe told us that he guaranteed we would only need a 10x20 storage unit, (we even left things behind) and still needed two 10x15 and an additional 5x10. They charged us $125.00 to put our belongings into storage but left them in hall way until we could rent another facility. Then they left leaving us to load ourselves. A useless moving company/agent and Allied is as bad. Gracious, accommodating and charismatic to get contract signed and then Kent Moving disappeared. Trucks showed up on wrong day, delivery information was non-existent, didn't return phone calls, texts or E-mails and were of no help whatsoever for deliveries in two parts of U. S. This was the worst experience we have ever had with a moving company! This company charged us over $12000 all for the privilege for them to treat our furniture like crap, to lose pieces that cannot be replaced, because our furniture and boxes got mixed up in the "vault" with another customer with the same last name! On delivery day, they started delivering inferior furniture and items that were not ours. When I saw what was happening they kept saying are you sure. How insulting! When I showed them boxes of cancelled checks from the other party they started to believe me. Furniture lower corners all had new scratches or tears in the leather sofa & loveseat because they never bothered to wrap the corners in their hurry to get done. An integral part of an Ethan Allen entertainment system was lost and not delivered, At first they said they'd have it taken care of, then they got nasty when my husband went into their office to see what was going on and not responding to us. Worst moving experience ever. Sexually inappropriate statements from one of the drivers, the movers bickered the entire time slowing my move entirely, they took 3 hours longer than the estimate I was given, I paid a fee to have a few items taken to the dump and stood next to the mover while he called a friend and offered him my items. I still got charged for my items going to the dump and my guess is the driver pocketed a few bucks from his friend. I contacted the business twice with my concerns and no one responded. I contacted the main Allied organization and they told me that someone named "Doug" had stated he resolved it. Two months later and I've heard from no one. They took money they didn't earn, made money for a service they didn't provide (taking my items to the dump) and never addressed the disgusting behavior of their movers. In a million years I cannot recommend this company if my life depended on it. The shame of it all is if they were professional and conscientious enough to contact me directly and address my concerns like responsible business people I wouldn't be posting publicly right now. I will also be contacting the BBB with their shame of charging me for a service they didn't provide and the racket of under quoting their "estimates". This was a horrible experience . Tom is a smooth talking guy who will lie to you to your face. I was told that you never ever pay movers upfront you pay once your things arrive on the other end but on the day the packers arrived i was told i had to write a check for over $900 . I was beyond pissed and made phone calls to Tom and he said that yes I had to pay ...ugh. Then when i got my things on the other end they wanted a cashiers check and that was around $3500 (which i expected) but three years later I needed a copy of my payment to them and of course they would not help me and when you pay this way it is like cash and can not be tracked. (i needed this for a audit) My last complaint was we never could find the screws to my bed so I slept on the floor for weeks and paid a guy to put it together for me. I bet I can top your complaint Merritt! I arranged a move with them in November to take place in February across the country. They showed up, starting stating they were going to charge me more for items that were in the estimate, they got an attitude and left me high and dry on the day of my move!! If your in the moving business, your in business to move things instead of complaining the minute you walk in. I live in a 700 sq ft apartment, so they had to move 25 totes, that was in the estimate, everything was packed including my brand new bed.
