Great customer service! Patient and a pleasure to talk to over the phone. I ordered a bridal bouquet for someone the week of the wedding and they delivered. Although it was too last-minute to order specific flowers that were not in stock in the store, the colors and style of the bouquet came out wonderfully and as requested. I love this place! Today I needed to get flowers unexpectedly and they had a beautiful arrangement for me in an hour.

They were forthcoming with me that their special wasn't available with the proper flowers. They agreed to replace them with similar flowers and sent an updated invoice to reflect the slightly lower cost. Yes the cost is premium but the presentation is lovely for a special event. It arrived in a beautiful vase for Mother's Day. The person on the phone happened to be Chinese, so I was able to write a beautiful Chinese note for my mother despite being across the country. I live in California and needed a get well flower arrangement delivered ASAP to my sister in-law in Gaithersburg. She had major surgery, so I had a heightened sense of urgency and needed a same day delivery. Unfortunately, Kentlands was already over booked for the day and were nervous there was not enough time for prep & delivery. I resolved myself that order fulfillment would not occur until the following day. To my amazement, they went out of their way and made the extra effort to deliver the flowers as requested. Highly recommended. We came in Wednesday and Lisa helped us figure out what shape, types of flowers, and colors to use in our wedding bouquet. Lisa really took the time to show us what the bouquet could look like by assembling a mixture of this or that. Once we were happy with what it could look like we placed an order and the next day we picked it up. I also got a boutonnière for myself because everything looked so good. The shop is really nice, all kinds of flowers inside and it's well decorated. They also have a walk in refrigerator which they keep stocked up with fresh flowers. This is a great flower shop in the Kentlands area. We highly, highly recommend this wonderful place. They sell stationary, cards, bath salts, books and gifts in addition to flowers. We bought some flowers recently and they are spectacular. We have been to most of the other florists in the area and this store is by far the best florist in the area. Their prices are up on a price sheet hanging in the store, while both of the other flower stores tried to upcharge us for their flowers. The hydrangeas are particularly beautiful (see photo). It's expensive, but well worth it for the quality of the product and the experience. read more

This little shop was just outstanding. We had a simple bit elegant little wedding at an historical inn, and I just wanted classic and simple flowers. What first sold me on this place, to be honest, was Rachel. I'd been to other shops, but Rachel was the most easy going, helpful and just friendly and down-to-earth. Instead of inundating me with a giant room full of flowers as others had done, she listened to my vision and made some great suggestions about which flowers would suit my preferences. When I received the flowers they were just perfect, and I couldn't be more pleased with this establishment. As a side note; after the wedding I put my bouquet back in the vase it was in when we picked up the flowers. I didn't notice that the water had been dumped out though so the bouquet sat in a vase with no water in it all night and into the next morning. Incredibly, those flowers never wilted and never even started to show their age until 5 days later!! (and we are talking roses and hydrangeas and phlox and dahlias... things that wilt quickly even when in water). That struck me as truly amazing and certainly goes to show the quality and freshness of the flowers. read more

It was left on my front porch in extreme heat. I received a voicemail from them. "We left an arrangement on your porch....it should be all right". Another disappointing presentation as well. I have been looking for the time to give a review for this flower shop because it just has to be done. I don't want to go deep into the details but I walked in on a Friday evening maybe around 5 o'clock in desperate need for a nice arrangement for a viewing that my Girlfriend and I wanted to attend that night around 7 in hopes that we can deliver the arrangement to this wonderful family without too much of mess left in a 30 minute drive to get there in time. I have no clue about arrangement, flowers, what looks good or what is appropriate. I was given direction for white flower arrangement that looks good at a reasonable price. Needless to say, after great customer service working with me as I ignorantly explained what I was looking for and how much I was willing to spend they all helped me layout my plan. That took a bit of time and they were about to close in 30 but I asked and they delivered. The most beautiful last minute arrangement with whatever nice they had left After using a lot of inventory for the day. I wish I had a pic. I even sat there as I believe Mickelle was putting it all together. She and her associates were very kind and I can tell they put effort and heart into what they do. Long story short, I was supposed to fly back home to Maryland from Dallas this past weekend for a really special celebration and my flight kept getting delayed due to weather until it was finally cancelled at 2am Saturday. I wasn't able to get on another available flight at that time and every other airline had insane one-way prices. I still wanted to at least get something special delivered to the celebration in my absence. I called Kentlands Flowers at Noon EST Saturday (party starts at 1pm EST) and told them my story and to see if I could get some emergency flowers delivered to the party. They were extremely nice, understanding and accommodating (I believe it was Kim who I talked to given the email address on the confirmations I received). I sent the flowers to a local church for a funeral. I didn't get to see what was delivered and if the flowers were delivered on time.

The ladies I spoke with were super nice when I called to place the order and also to check the next day when they would be delivered. I guess perhaps I'm out of touch with the prices of things today but I was charged over $85 total for an arrangement of sunflowers, gerber daisies and other assorted flowers (no roses or other expensive blooms) in a short round vase. After my friend who received the flowers sent me a picture of the arrangement, I feel a little like I'd been had. I realize it's mostly the "convenience" factor but I could easily have purchased this bouquet of flowers at any grocery store for around $10 and to pay eight times that much just seems ridiculous. My husband and I worked with Kentlands Flowers and Bows for all the floral arrangements for our wedding. Though we live in Alexandria, we married in Montgomery County and had a hard time finding a florist that we felt really got what we wanted, and at the right price, until we stumbled on Kentlands Flowers and Bows. Kim and her team were nothing short of exceptional. Kim and I first corresponded over email, and she was always very quick to reply. We also had a few phone calls where we talked over ideas, budget, and what would fit the venue (the Agricultural History Farm Park in Derwood, MD). Kim prepared an estimate for us that at first was a little high for our budget. She was able to work with us to bring the costs down to something more manageable for us, removing slightly pricier flowers and adding less expensive - but just as beautiful - choices. We came in to the shop to go through all of our choices, and went through about every single in-season, white flower under the sun. Kim and the staff at Kentlands Flowers and Bows seriously know their flowers. To call it a learning experience would be an understatement! Our arrangements were a little unusual in that we didn't have single centerpieces for each table (we didn't have a sit-down dinner, just all heavy passed appetizers the entire evening). Instead we had a variety of cocktail and dinner tables, and each had anywhere from 3-15 vases/jars/bottles/glasses filled with white flowers. That whole "rustic chic" thing. We collected all the vases, and they allowed us to drop them off at their shop throughout the months leading up to the wedding -- saving us from living amongst boxes and boxes of glass jars. On the day of our wedding, Kim and her team arranged everything beautifully, worked with our planners and the catering team to set up the tables and chairs, and even blew up giant balloons for us the morning of the wedding. Kim and her team were easy to work with, professional, and really, we felt like they cared about every tiny detail of the flowers at our wedding - and even cared about helping out with the OTHER details. And that's without even discussing the bridal bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages. The ladies each carried glorious, glorious peony bouquets, and they were insanely gorgeous. We wanted to thank Kim and Brooke for everything they did for our wedding. We certainly had a lot of back (via, in person, phone, and email) and fourth in terms of getting things exactly where we wanted them as we were very particular and on a $600 budget. The entire staff was very helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. A huge shout out to Brooke who really helped us make it all happen. She explained what worked, what didn't, helped advise us as we had some ideas, and eventually knocked it out of the park. They showed up at the venue at the time they said they would and did the flower arrangements exactly as discussed. There were no hiccups or issues and our event/ceremony looked beautiful. The quality and freshness of the flowers were impeccable. Even the petals they threw on the ground in the aisles appeared vibrant and colorful. We were so happy we chose them as our florist. We hope you have the same fortune. It's true, it does help to put a ring on it (as beyonce says) and it also helps to put a bow on it as well. I had initially ordered a corsage for my son's senior prom date from White Flint Florist in Rockville;( I had given Parvena a detailed description of what I wanted and had to pay for it over the phone before I saw the final product. When I picked it up the bows she used looked like bows on a gift package, heavy looking and stapled together. I had never seen anything so ridiculous! When I asked her if she would redo the ribbons with something more sheer, she said,"this is how I make it!" I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere with her so I took it and left. I was too embarrassed to show this to my son to give to his GF whom he has dated since middle school. With the clock ticking a few hours remained before my son had to pick up his date. I ended up taking it to a florist in the Kentlands. Holding back the tears, I showed them the corsage and asked if they could please help fix this? They replied, "of course", took it apart and made a proper corsage! They only charged me for the labor. I called this florist on 10/20/21. I asked if flowers could be delivered to DeVol Funeral Home for a 11:00 a.m service on 10/22/21. They said no. They open at 11:00 a.m. and close at 4:00 p.m. Fine. So I called DeVol and asked if they would receive flowers the day prior to the service. They said yes. However, today of the service, I receive a message on my voicemail at 12:15 p.m. stating that they missed the service. I am devastated. The next two hours I talked on the phone with incompetent employees. One telling me "sorry, we are now done with deliveries for the day". It is now 3:00, and I finally got someone on the phone who said "sorry, we have new employees". I have NEVER seen such a chain of errors. They are now offering to send flowers to the residence 2 days after I placed the order hours after the reception at the residence. Worse service. read more

They drew up a detailed proposal with specific price points, and worked with us to find the right thing. When they realized a supplier was not able to provide one of the types of flowers we requested, they consulted with me and made a substitution that ended up working beautifully. The flowers, arrangements and artistic touch are beautiful. I love the wreaths they offer as well. The only thing holding me back from that fourth and fifth star is the price and duration ratio. The beautiful flowers are consistently dead in 4-6 days, for the price you pay, its not worth it. They have happily replaced before but I hate going back each time requesting this as it hurts their bottom line and all the local business need all the help and support they can get. Its better I go elsewhere than back to them for this reason. (example, cheap flowers at grocery may not be as pretty but last two or more weeks, for me bast value for price and duration with still good looking flowers is Whole Foods) read more
