The hospital did a minor check with minimal testing and told him it was a pinched nerve. He went back 6 hours later early in the morning with even worse chest pain, no testing at all was done and he was sent home and told to follow up with pcp. The place was dirty and outdated and the staff had NO communication skills. My father died in this place. I feel sorry for patients there who have no one to advocate or protect them. My father was not even given fluids for 2 days. He sat in his own urine for a day and a half. The nurses would look me in my face and tell me they "didn't know because they hadn't seen the chart" whenever I had questions. One nurse on the 2nd floor, her name was Lisa, shrugged her shoulders and walked away when another nurse told her my dad had not had any pain meds. The whole floor heard my wrath. They would constantly forget to give my dad his pain medicine as he lay dying. I pray to God this place gets shut down. I wish we had never called 9-1-1 and allowed my dad to pass at home. The ONLY thing that kept me from completely losing it was the fact that if I got kicked out, there would be NO ONE to protect my dad. As he passed, we had staff barge in several times (after we asked for privacy and was told we would not be bothered) they wanted to take blood, take him for x rays, etc. Orders that had been made the day before.....they wanted to act on as he was literally taking his last breaths. The majority of the staff were lazy, apathetic and had no idea what was going on half the time. We had to micro manage everyone just to get my dad fluids and pain meds. Never again.

I would select zero stars if I could…read more So my uncle is being discharged from Hazard ARH and we come to get him? Cool? Cool. Well, they NEGLECT to tell us that he can't leave without being on an oxygen tank because he needs it 24/7. Then they tell us that he has to leave by Ambulance... we wait an HOUR... only for them to tell us that he CAN'T because the policies have changed or some dumb shit like that??? Okay, whatever. It happens...I guess? So they call to get a tank DELIVERED... FROM FUCKING HAZARD... TO FUCKING HAZARD... and here we are 3:30 and they STILL do not have the tank he needs when we arrived to pick him up at 11:30!!! I had a sick cat with me, to top this off and when we vented our RIGHTFUL frustrations, an employee, Kimberly Sample was totally unsympathetic and offered zero alternative solutions. We are STARVING, thirsty, and our cat was literally SCREAMING because they implied we could come get him and take him home and gave NO information about his needs regarding the oxygen or that they would REFUSE to let him sign himself out against medical advice when he was BEGGING to come home the ENTIRE time. I have NEVER seen a hospital MORE unprofessional than ARH that gives NO FUCK about their patients time or the time of their families. I would not take my fucking DOG to these hospitals. These hospitals were MUCH better in this area before ARH came in and hired these unsympathetic "It is what it is" employees. He has done nothing but beg to come home and yet she has the nerve to say she gave him great care. Great CARE would have been making sure he was ready to go the moment he was discharged instead of waiting until his ride got to hazard to order the oxygen tank!!! It doesn't take an idiot to know that, especially if you neglect to even tell the family it is a REQUIREMENT. Excuse my damn French but anyone would fucking cuss if you make them wait four hours with no solution in sight! We have wasted gas to go get his own from WAYLAND, which we could have brought with us if the dumb bitch knew what COMMUNICATION is and had told us. Don't go to Hazard ARH unless you want to waste an entire day and your gas money. Idk about you, but we can't afford multiple trips to Hazard because a hospital cannot communicate properly or function in a timely god damn manner. Update: We get a call from my uncle at 3:47 when we finally gave up and left to get his at the house...it had JUST arrived. Almost 4 and 1/2 hours later!!
