They have the best eggs I have ever had! Far better than Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. You can instantly see the difference when you crack the eggs over the pan. The color of the yolk is bright yellow. The eggs cook differently and the texture is fluffier. All around the best I have ever had. Carl owns the farm and brings free range, farm raised eggs and chicken to market weekly. Recently at the farmers market in Manhattan Beach, he started grilling chicken burgers (chicken from his farm) and sirloin beef burgers. This review is not about the quality of their products. I went to Larchmont Village Farmers Market today, and one of the things I was going to get was a dozen eggs from Kepner Farms, Unfortunately, the service was not good and I ended up not buying from them. I was in line next to a guy who bought a dozen eggs. I waited patiently as the vendor filled up the carton, then the customer paid with a $20 bill. The vendor asked him if he had smaller bills, the customer had a baby in his arms and struggled to look but finally came up with $3 so that was good for a $15 change ($8/doz). In the meantime some other people arrived and lined up behind me. After that customer left, I said to the vendor, "one dozen eggs, please" but he could not decide whether to service me (who was standing right in front of him) or a lady to my right. I had not noticed her before because my view of her was blocked by the previous customer. I immediately apologize and told her she could go ahead of me. She said to the vendor and me it's ok as she misread the price and decided it was too expensive for her and started to walk away. Instead of filling my order, he started to talk to the lady behind me so I waited for a few seconds thinking it's possible that the lady behind me asked him a quick question and he was in mid-sentence. Several more seconds went by and he continued more sentences so at that point I had a choice to interrupt him or walk away. I decided to walk away. I think if I were to treat a customer this way, the customer would probably go on yelp and give me a one star review, so here it is. read more

Kepner farms is a family-owned enterprise, hidden away in the hills above San Juan Capistrano and Lake Elsinore. They have a stand at the Great Park Farmer's Market (Sundays) in Irvine, CA, and at the Santa Monica Farmer's Market ( don't know what day it is). They may be in other farmer's markets too, or will be in the future. We came to know them because of the free-range chicken eggs they sold at the Irvine market. Later, we came to enjoy the free-range chicken and lamb, as well. Since my wife is a real farmer's daughter, she appreciated the free-range eggs with their rich, dark yolks. Carl and his daughter are so friendly, we immediately became regulars. We've even visited the farm. It's a wonderful little farm with a large pasture where the chickens, sheep, and lambs graze and feed. Try the eggs, you'll see the difference. Same with the chicken and lamb. read more

Tried these eggs and I was sold! Select your own if desired, shells are hard, the eggs are protected (I compost my shells) and the eggs are rich in color and flavor. So encouraging to find eggs from chickens that have a varied diet, an ability to live life with mobility and not shot up with hormones or antibiotics! I have also bought his meat birds and with the same treatment, just sets the mind at ease, as well as DELICIOUS! He also sells lamb (haven't tried yet). I buy at the Great Park in Irvine on Sundays, but Kepner Farms is at other farmers markets throughout the week and area.
