I found out about this place because the hubby and I would be coming from Idyllwild and wanted the chance to pick up a Julian Pies' pie somehow. I did call around a week ahead of time to see on the likelihood on when their delivery of Julian Pies would come in, and how quickly they sell out (yes, they sell out pretty quickly!). They tend to get their delivery on Thursdays, and easily sell out by the end of the weekend. There's a small chance that frozen pies are available by Monday, but they don't always order frozen pies. While my main goal was to get a Julian Pies' pie of some sort (and I was able to grab the third to last frozen one on a Monday!), I was also intrigued on what else they could have in the market. In terms of variety, they have a lot of great stuff. Jams, jellies, nuts, dried fruits, pickled items, fresh fruit, fresh veggies, eggs, gift items, cards, local bakery breads, pastries, snacks, drinks.... they really have everything you could want if you're hungry. I found their selection of jerky to be unique (e.g., you don't find alligator or wild boar unless in select markets) and the boxed selections of snacks (e.g., peanut butter cups and milk chocolate with almonds) were fresh, tasty, and well-made; not made with cheap ingredients or from an international factory. Prices were decent. Since hubby and I were coming from Idyllwild, there wasn't a great way of getting to the market and we did have to go through some of the orchard areas to get there. Employees were wearing masks, they were actively sanitizing, and were helpful. I'm sure they get a little irritated with how often people may ask for Julian Pies' pies, but the employees took it in stride! Plenty of parking! Make a visit to this local market! read more

Went to this shop last weekend on a road trip with my parents. This place is part store, part restaurant, and there's plenty of parking in the front lot. There is also a bathroom, but I wouldn't use it as it's a porta potty, and not very clean (according to my dad). When we walked inside the shop, the person behind the cash register didn't have her mask on. But I think that's because there weren't a lot of people inside...still though, I thought she should be wearing a mask if there was one person inside. The shop has various breads, drinks, jams, honey's, jerky, and Julian pies for sale! They also have a small produce section full of fruits and veggies. We didn't go into the restaurant area to see what they had. We bought jam, Gilroy garlic bread, honey, corn salsa, some jerky, and a frozen boysenberry apple Julian pie. It came out to be about $60 which bugged my eyes out, but what do you expect when you're in a small town with items made locally? BTW, if you have the opportunity to get a Julian frozen pie, I highly recommend it. It was so delicious (after we baked it) that we ate the entire thing for dinner! read more

In the sticks marketplace that sells produce from around San Diego and IE counties. There is also a Deli ( Mexican taco shop) on site. The sign on the outside states "Fresh Beef Jerky". You'll have to make your way to the back room in the taco shop to see it in the display case. I wasn't impressed on how "fresh" it looked so I passed. Prices are average, but be sure to ask the origin of the produce. Some is shipped in from Oceanside. - You'll see the billboard for this place driving East on Winchester road. - If you drove out here for the Winchester Cheese Shop, you might as well drive a few more miles down the road for this place. - The burrito in the taco shop looked huge. Seemed like more people were stopping off at Winchester Farms for the Mexican food in the back room. read more

Delicious Breakfast and great service. My family and I just tried Jolene's inside the market. We frequent Winchester but this is the first time we eat at Jolene's. We definitely reccomend. They were very busy too. We were seated at a wood dining table that felt very much like home. It even had a cleaver way of charging your phone. Our waitress Jolene was amazing even though she was super busy. She made sure waters were filled, coffee was topped off, and frequently checked on us. The entire staff was great and super friendly. I really like the atmosphere of this place. Everyone is very nice and welcoming. The food at the country kitchen is good. I got a bacon burger with a side of fries and a coke. If you are wanting a backyard burger but don't want to do the cooking then look no further because this is the place to get one. It has that "touch of home" very recommended. If you are on the go then call ahead and place a phone order, if your a truck driver then this is the place. Plenty of room to park out back. My partner and I went to Winchester Farms a few weeks ago. It was fun. They have a cool country store with items not usually found in regular stores. We enjoyed it. There's a restaurant cafe. We didn't eat there because they were getting ready to close. Looked nice enough though. We want to try it soon. The property is pretty big. There's a barn and lots of old old trucks and farm equipment. When we went into the barn we saw a huge white owl. What a surprise! I love owls so that was a plus. We walked around the property and enjoyed the beautiful views of the mountains and surrounding area. There was a small swapmeet in the front parking lot. All in all it was a nice visit, a fun place to go to. We will go soon to eat at the restaurant. read more

The produce can be "iffy", as during the week, there is no Business, and who knows how long the Produce, Dudley bread, and Julian pies sit. They also sell Temecula Honey, and It really isn't very good honey. But this is the owners first attempt at running a market. Shout out to Holly, the very sweet cashier who I met last week. I was on my way from San Diego to Rancho Mirage and when I saw the outside of this store I had to stop - - especially because the sign said they sold Julian pies! I walked in and knew I'd hit pay dirt! So many great items to buy (though I had to wait about 20 minutes for the pie delivery guy!), from many kinds of honey and jams, nuts, chocolate items, dried fruit, and there must've been about 200 varieties of sodas! Plus a decent amount of fresh produce. The real bonus was the heavenly scents coming from the restaurant tucked in the back of the store. Oh my God, I was sorry I'd already eaten breakfast because I really wanted to eat there. So many choices! I had a really nice conversation with a fellow "pie wait-er" and then a short chat with Holly. I said I loved the store and I'd like to come back later to eat. I got two fresh Julian pies to take to my brother-in-law and was off. Later as I was leaving him to go home, I checked the store hours on Google and it said they closed at 5. It was 3:30 and Google Maps said it would take an hour and 30 minutes to get back there. I swear I broke land and speed records to get there before they closed. I made it with 15 minutes to spare. Fortunately, they had more pies (one for my daughter). Sadly though, the other cashier who was there told me the restaurant closes at 2:30 pm. Oh well! Something to look forward to - Road Trip!!! Oh, and the store closes at 6 pm. They hadn't updated the hours yet on Google. It closes at 5:30 in the Fall. So, you should definitely make an effort to stop here, you won't be sorry! read more

The delicious smells when you walk in are unreal! The store itself is very clean and adorable. The produce selection looked great and the prices were even better. I was very impressed that they had a selection of VEGAN treats as well. My friend and I got lunch in the restaurant and were blown away. Best turkey melt I've ever had. I discovered this place on my way home from Palm Springs last weekend. I originally just stopped in to take a short break and get a bottle of water and perhaps some fruit, but holy shit if I didn't see something that took me totally by surprise.....Faygo Pop. I am originally from Detroit, Mi and grew up on Faygo (a Detroit company) and have not seen that stuff in years. They have all the good flavors too from Creme Soda, Red Pop, Orange Pop, Rock N Rye, etc... Not only do they carry this stuff, which is hard to find outside of the Midwest, but they carry it in GLASS BOTTLES. Oh man,,,,any type of pop tastes better out of a glass bottle, but to find something so close to home, just made my day. I was getting away for the weekend as my gf and I had just broken up and I was going through a rough time (and still am), but this small notion of home and the friendly people working there put a smile on my face that day. I will stop there again and try some more of the fruit and jerky. I also heard the mexican food and deli inside were also worth checking out. read more
