I have been hung up on by the scheduling department multiple times. Today was no exception. I stayed on hold for 10 minutes and was answered was rudely told "What?" and immediately after I said hello I was hung up on. I called back twice only to be met with a voicemail stating that they were closed. The staffing here is incredibly rude and immensely difficult to get through to. I do not recommend Kern Endocrine Center to anyone searching for any type of healthcare. read more

The Dr and nurse's I see are great! The problem with this place is the scheduling department. Anytime I call to schedule or reschedule my appointments it takes a miracle to get them to answer. Today for example I've been hung up or disconnected 4 times in and hour trying to reschedule my appointment. They say u can request a C/B which I did and twice they called me and no one was on the line! Just now I got through they asked me to hold after being in the queue for 30 minutes and then abruptly hung up on me twice! This alone is there weakness. read more

I do not recommend Kern Endocrine Center at all!!! First of all, the office staff rarely answers their phone. And when you come in person, you will see it's not because they're overwhelmed with patients. They turn off the ringers and turn on an answering service most of the time. Second, out of 7 appointments, they have called and canceled and rescheduled 5 of them. Often at the last minute. Third, the dr is friendly, but all she does is push weight-loss pills. I lost 20 lbs and she made no acknowledgment of it, and went into her usual spiel about the pills. The last time I was there, a woman came 10 min late and they told her she couldn't keep her appointment, EVEN THOUGH, her appointment was scheduled long after mine, and I had already been waiting an hour because they were behind schedule. They just wanted to shorten the day. So EVEN IF she was on time, she couldn't actually get into the room before me. I told her go elsewhere. They thanked me. I tried to get a different endocrinologist, but I was told due to insurance purposes I couldn't. So I'm changing from gem care to a ppo during open enrollment next month just so I can get a new endocrinologist. read more

Can't even schedule an appointment because nobody answers the phone and when they do answer they say they have to transfer me and ends up being a voicemail, which they don't respond to! I've been trying for three weeks straight, calling every single day. This is ridiculous. Get it together. read more

I want to say Jennifer Johnson is fabulous as is her assistant. They provide excellent care. What I am writing about is their policy and procedure regarding SCHEDULING A FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT. I have spoken to the office manager, and the front office staff. I DO NO APPRECIATE BEING TOLD WHEN MY NEXT APPOINTMENT WILL BE. I think this is highly unprofessional. I have asked SEVERAL times to not schedule my appointment for me without having a conversation with me. Yet, I still receive letters stating when my next appointment is. I will let you know when I have time for an appointment and when I don't. My insurance pays and I pay my co-pay to be seen by this organization, and to be told when I am expected to come is absolutely ridiculous. This is an uncommon practice, and it certainly doesn't foster a good relationship with patients. Do better. read more

I had one appointment I can not get anyone to send my orders done because they weren't sent! No one ever answers or return calls. I have sent Stephanie emails and left provider messages. I wait on the queues and the receptionist answers and puts you back on hold!!!!!.All you get is voice mail do not recommend this place at all..... read more

I was a patient here and so is another family member. It is so disorganized, you will never reach them on the phone to schedule or cancel. Prescriptions are not filled, when there is a problem you will not be notified. When you finally do get someone and you need a return phone call, just know you won't get it. My family member is without their medication for a month so far and has been on it a year and half. Last time my family member was there for an appointment a person came in very upset because they don't answer the phone. They actually had to drive there, unbelievable! I now go to UCLA they are professional and answer the phone when you need them. ** I want to note that I called today January 10th 2022 to cancel an appointment scheduled last year for a phone visit that I forgot about. It is for January 13th 2022. Of course nobody answered and I left a message that I was canceling and I have a new doctor. read more

Dr's are great but it's so hard to get someone on the phone. Can't get through or on hold forever

I like the medical practitioners.I would continue to see them. But...they really need to do something about their front office staff. The staff needs to keep track of scheduled appointments. Quite often I was scheduled an appointment but when I got there I did not have one. Or was asked to come back later. The front desk at time seems a bit chaotic. But that I'm seeing this pattern all too often at Drs offices. I recall reading an article with headlines that stated something to the effect of " Doctors is your front office staff hurting your business" in Bakersfield many of Drs office can get away with poor front office service or customer service because there isn't much competition. Therefore, by default rather you're mediocre or not you can still be a success because of lack of competition. If healthcare in Bako gets better and more quality Drs and offices open; and Doctors do not train their staff certain offices may see a decline. read more

How does this facility have such a high star rating? 1.9 stars? This is a farce! Anything over a one star is lying on a level that only politicians get away with. The front staff have the personality of a school bus fire. They look at you with distain from the moment you come through the door. I have been going there for a year now and they have never got my medication right. It has never gone to the right pharmacy and never have a received the correct quantities or medications. They are totally unresponsive to correct these issues and I have had to purchase the medication out of pocket multiple times. I do not know how they have any patients, that are alive. Run from this horrifically incompetent, hateful people! Btw, you will never see the endocrinologist because it is just a license. A front for nurse practitioners. There is no actual doctor to be seen. Seriously, run from this place! read more

This place is horrible. I have attempted to reach them multiple times to get my records transferred to where I moved to and I get sent to voicemail every time. Attempted to reach the front desk the lady who answered transferred me to just get sent to voicemail and I left a voicemail to get a call back and have yet to receive one. read more

I probably should have read the reviews before going here. It is a VERY poorly managed office. The staff is horrible and always so rude. On at least a few occasions when I went to check in, the girl at the front was having a personal conversation with a coworker. She looked at me standing there then turned away to finish the conversation. After a few minutes she decided she should do her job and check me in for my appointment. Also, like many reviews stated, they DO NOT return calls. It's been 3 weeks and I've left 2 voicemails and spoken to someone, still no call back. The person I spoke to said "the doctor isn't in right now, give him a few days." A week later, still no call. Tried to call back today to just cancel my next appointment. I waited on hold for 10 minutes before getting hung up on. When I try to call back, straight to a FULL voicemail. Oh, and don't get me started on the "video visits." I had one with one of the mid-levels and it was all kinds of a HIPAA violation. She wasn't in a secure location at all. It looked like she was in a break room or something with as many different people were walking around her. First and last virtual visit with them. I just blocked my number and actually got through to someone. I asked to cancel my appointment and not to be contacted further. She started trying to verify my contact information and said that I have to be "discharged." When I stated I do not want to be contacted whatsoever she rudely responded "I guess you don't know how this works." I just hung up. I refuse to be disrespected. This place is a complete joke. The doctor is fine but the office staff is going to run the business into the ground. If you are able, do yourself and your health a favor and find another place to go. Also, wanted to add that the mid-level I saw ran unnecessary lab work related to type 1 diabetes when I have type 2 and have had type 2 for more than 10 years. Not only is it monetarily costly but their lack of related knowledge could be very dangerous to those not informed. Again, steer clear of this place. read more

This place is not organized or friendly. I met with Darryl Altavas FNP via facetime only for him to mansplain my condition like it was brand new to me even though I have been diagnosed for 11 years, clearly he did not review my chart or records. And then he argued with me for about 3 minutes when I asked if he could have my results sent to my primary doctor he complained about how hard faxing is and proceeded to ask me to do foot work to achieve information for him. My first initial visit was with Dr. Duggal she ran all the necessary test to help my hypothyroidism after that I have seen PA Bruce Dains he has been wonderful and helped me to get every issue in order and I feel so good! The staff is so friendly and the office is clean. I've never had an issue when having to get in contact with someone. Kern Endocrine Center Rocks! read more

My experience was not great, and to add more misery to my day, they are holding my lab results hostage as I am leaving them for another endocrinologist. I have asked them for my lab results several times both by phone and in writing, but they refuse to give them to me until I set up an appointment with them again. I will never set up another appointment with Kern Endocrine Center. And if needed, I will take legal action to get my lab results. Holding back medical records is illegal as far as I know. read more

I have been going to Kern Endocrine for the last 2 years without any issue. I loved seeing Dr. Bruce Dains, as he's been the only endocrinologist in town I've seen who is willing to listen to what I wanted to do with my body. Unfortunately, I was told a few months ago that he was going on vacation, and I would need to see a different PA (Darryl something?). He is okay; however, at my appointment this week via video, I was told he attempted to call 3x, and so I had to reschedule my appointment. I was sitting at my phone and computer the full time and no call came through. I called to reschedule my appointment and asked about Dr. Dains, and I was told he is no longer with Kern Endocrine. This is really disappointing, since he was the only endocrinologist I've had who I really liked. read more

This place is a joke they are open from 8 am -5 pm. But I call nobody is there. It forwards me to voicemail I have called 6 times today. Also they don't care about there patients. They just prescribe medication and act like a pill is going to take care of someone. I have talked to some one 3 weeks ago saying we I'll just push the appointment out because they didn't send the lab sheets to the right lab. They say we don't send lab sheets to the labs but you can pick it up or we can mail it to you. It has been three weeks and nothing through mail and the appointment is on the 12 of November 2021. I am going to report them to the Board of Medicine. read more

This place is ran terribly. Don't waste your time like I have. I had a Telemed (FaceTime) appointment at 4pm and I didn't get a call so I called at 4:20pm to have Bruce Danes MA say he called me three times and left a message, in which he had not. When I asked why he hadn't left a message he responded, "I leave notes in the files and I wrote I had called three times and left a message." Well, you didn't. You called once and didn't leave a message. Unfortunately, I didn't know who called and I wasn't able to check while I was working. Very frustrating when you book appointments around your day. If you're looking to waste your time and have a doctor not give a fu€k about your chief complaint. Then you've come to the right place. This facility advertises themselves as an endocrine facility but really they ought to have a few animals at this circus...they already have a clown- DR SINGH. I asked this man to assist in managing my testosterone levels which have been found to be low in addition to my prolactin levels. He was reluctant to want to assist with my elevated prolactin levels, much less a referral for the pituitary tumor in my fcking brain. Then this POS goes on to say that he doesn't know much about hormones and asked why my PA can't just give me clomid and HCG. I'm currently receiving testosterone therapy through a provider and explained that it was a temporary fix until I saw him, the endocrinologist. Not only did he refuse to do his job, but embarrassed himself and his profession with stating "I don't really know how to deal with hormones. Just let them (my PA) manage it." The whole point of the referral was for me to get sorted with a fcking specialist!! read more

I've have 2 Telemed appointments with Dr. Duggal this past year and she never called. It's impossible to talk to someone in the office and the wait times for Dr. Duggal are horrendous. I don't understand why most doctors are open at this time but she insist on Telemed appointments. read more
