Hi, I would love to recommend Dr. VJ and Dr. Ravi. They are very nice, thorough, and care about finding your diagnosis. I happen to have migraines and Dr. VJ was very quick to treat. The only reasons I gave four stars is the wait time is forever sometimes. One time they put me in a room and I swear they forgot me. I had to come out to the lobby twice to remind them I was there. Also, for a person with migraines, the fluorescent office lighting is too painful. I always ask them to turn off the lights when I get into the room. read more

Please don't book your appointments 30 mins apart if you are going to have people waiting for an hour or more just to get to the point of getting vitals done. Major major scheduling problem. Stacking patients in order to pad pockets and making the patients wait hours on hours is diabolical.... Two hours I have been sitting here for nothing. read more

I have seen both doctors in this practice. Dr Ravi is nice. I had to wait over an hour for a EMG test by DR. VENKATESH JANAKIRAMAN. The office policy regarding test and prescriptions is horrible. It takes a week for RX refills and test results take months. Find another office. I know I will be. read more

The office staff at this office is less than truthfule and have no compassion to their patients. My nephew was referred to Valley Neurological Medical Group by his primary care physician for memory loss. VNMG did testing there at their office, Dr. L. decided she would need a pet scan to help her diagnosis his memory lost condition, if you have Medi-Cal everything has to be approved prior to having the test completed. He was referred for pet scan on April 1, 2025, he had an appt on June 30, 2025 for the results of the pet scan, my nephew has no car so through Medi-cal he can receive rides by (Movid for transportation when I am not able to take him to his appts) The Movid did not show up and I was not able to take him this day because I was in Los Angles having medical testing at USC. So he tried to explain this to the office staff and he was informed that he would not be able to see Dr. L. until he paid for missing the appt (so basically his medical treatment is being held hostage for $25.00 and the rules VNMG, I understand there has to be rules but there also has to be acceptions to the rules, my nephew asked to speak to the Office Manager he was informed that she would return his call, a week later still no call. Today when I went to their website and requested a chat and answered their survey as to why I was calling I received a phone call from (lydia "the lead") now we have asked to speak to the office manager twice to no avail. I explained to Lydia why I was calling and she explained that they would wave the fee this time because this is the rule of the office and not the physicians (WHO OWNS THE PRACTICE "VALLEY NEUROLOGICAL MEDICAL GROUP" the phsyciians THEIR ONE IN THE SAME). I did my research as to who owns the group, so either Lydia is not aware of who owns the practice or she is being less than truthful (I choose the latter) So Lydia schedules my nephew an appt for September 30, 2025, I informed Lydia now your punishing him for missing the appointment, on October 1, 2025 it will be six months that he has been waiting at the mercy of Medi-cal, Kern Rad and now VNMG to know what his results are. Beneficence and Nonmaleficence Beneficence is the moral obligation to act in a way that benefits others, promoting their well-being and legitimate interests. In healthcare, this translates to healthcare professionals having a duty to act for the benefit of their patients, taking actions to promote health, prevent harm, remove conditions that will cause harm, and help those in need. Avoiding Harmful Actions: Medical professionals strive to avoid actions that could lead to negative outcomes for the patient. As I see it the most important thing to VNMG is to get the $25.00 for the missed appt follow the rules of the physicians practice even if it not beneficial to my nephew. read more

I would give this place a 5 star but the staff itself is really poor the medical assistant are so rude, I don't understand why it just seems like they hate there job this place needs new staff most definitely. read more

So far, my first Neurologist appointment with Dr. Punsalan has been amazing. She's a great listener and showed great concern about my health. She got me a couple of brain scans ordered and a new medicine called Topamax and after a lengthy conversation into my health history we're good to go. Unfortunately my issues are with the staff thus far. Dismissive, always busy and put you on hold for long periods of time. My neurologist said the medication might not work and if I had any complaints of side effects, we could just switch over to a new medicine. However, switching medicines has not been easy. The unbearable shocking in my hands and feet with burning pain was written off as "oh that's just normal, it'll last two weeks" by the staff and I would have to wait another two weeks to get off this damn medication I don't want to take. The awful moodswings, depressions, episodes of anger, this medication has rendered my anti depressants basically ineffective. I have a past history of suicidal thoughts, which is the main reason I'm afraid to take anymore of this medication because I feel like I could easily start hurting myself. So now I've had to contact my pharmacist so they can send a note over to the office, and had to contact my physicist letting them know that Topamax is ruining my depression treatment plan. read more

I get it! Based on your email, there should be no negative comments. I called their office twice before I posted my previous comment. I believed I would get an action if I posted a comment in Yelp. And that is when it happened. Dr Ravi is an excellent doctor and my comment was how my prescription request was handled. It took several requests from August 5 to August 11 before it was acted on. read more

If I could give a ZERO star I would. My son's symptoms actually worsened with lack of personalized care or knowledge on his particular illness. In fact, his lack of a follow up plan for any problems after switching his medication unnecessarily - caused more harm than good. His office staff was rude and unhelpful. When you have a sick loved one and you want the best - this is not the place for you. They have extremely LONG wait times. When you see a specialist like Neurology- you usually have a severe need - they have no sense of urgency and no way to reach the office if something goes wrong if the care plan they initiated goes wrong- you are on your own. Impossible to get through to people. I'm returning a call from the office itself about an important medical issue. The automated phone system is not user-friendly and seems designed to discourage calls. Once I get through that automated system, someone answers just quickly enough to say 'please hold' and then, after 15 minutes or so on hold, they disconnect me completely and I have to start the process over again. This is all in an attempt to return their phone call asking me to contact them about a medical issue. When someone is finally reached, staff is rude and unprofessional. You'll see from other reviews here that is is a recurring theme. read more

Be warned- I made an appointment here, and they had supposedly verified when I made the appointment that they took my insurance. They called an hour before my appointment to re-verify my insurance because they had gotten the number wrong (she said), then said that they didn't actually take my insurance and they'd have to cancel my appointment. The DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT. That I had been waiting over a month for with pretty serious symptoms. Now I am back at square one and probably at least a month out from being able to get in with another neurologist. And I have a pretty standard insurance for CA, through my employer: Anthem Blue Cross. read more

I can not say enough good about this doctor (Dr. V.J.). I have been suffering for about a year with a spinal stenosis diagnoses. He has offered good advice and treatment, especially age appropriate for my condition. Another doctor tried to rush me into surgery without any other options. Dr. V.J. is holding my hand through treatment plans that are best for me. The office staff are very competent and kind. I am so great full I consulted with him. Please know that second opinions are very important, if you receive a bleak diagnosis. I wish I had started this medical journey with Valley Neurological navigating it with me. I was able to get an appointment very quick and the front office staff were very nice and friendly. Dr Ravi was also so nice. One of her colleagues came in and also tried to address a skin problem that I've been having. I would highly recommend this group. The office is spotlessly clean and it was nice coming here compared to some of the Drs offices that I've been to have been horrible, but not here! They are also very thorough and very professional.
