Our dues started out in the $90s per month and now they are at $106 per month. That includes round-the-clock security, secure mail collection, and daily maintenance to the roads and common ways. Since the group was overtaken by a whole new set of people a few years ago, it is phenomenally better. They currently have a policy of having a friendly neighbor stop by and visit if there's an issue before you start getting the nasty notices. That in itself is so much appreciated, and the way it should be. There are no fines and penalties that I'm aware of. When you mention things you think are unreasonable, they actually listen, and even follow up proactively. That's not to say that almost universally, there aren't unreasonable requests anymore. We rarely get any notice of any sort A few years ago, I would've mentioned to anyone moving into the Hidden Hills neighborhood that the homeowners association was very difficult to work with, domineering, and an absolute dictatorship. Now, they are an approachable, friendly group that really does have the neighborhood's best interests in mind. I really appreciate what they do now.

Jill is incompetent, unprofessional, and disrespectful. We were informed by Jill this past week by email of a potential violation of the HOA Covenants which turned out to be 100 percent untrue. First, she did not return my phone call. Then, she never apologized to us after we sent her the documents proving our upgrades to our home were approved by BCM and the HOA Board. Her job is thankless, but the lack of professionalism in this situation was unnecessary. Had we not kept records of every BCM and Board approved upgrades to our home, we would have had to remove these upgrades which would have cost us thousands. Hire BCM and Jill with extreme caution-read the other ratings carefully. We hope our Board will change management companies for Kettering ASAP. Any plants that die on site, even if the store doesn't water properly or puts them in the wrong sun/not sun spot, any returns of dead plants equates to the grower not getting paid. This rubbed me the wrong way, when I heard it. I am going to be honest- I still end up buying plants from said stores, but I do pop into various nurseries and try to support their small business. I ended up with Jasmine and Honeysuckle and had to lay both down in my car- because they both had trellis attached and were pretty big. John caught me when I got home! March should bring more varieties of flowering plants- good tip to know! And peak season will bring Sunday hours (currently closed on Sundays)- aka, March- April!
