After a long day of driving across Ireland, we arrived in Dublin for the last few days of our honeymoon. We found this restaurant, which was near where we were staying in the Ballsbridge neighborhood. One fantastic thing about this restaurant is that it is BYOB/BYOW. So, do as we did, and stop by Baggot Street Wines just around the corner from this place; and buy your beer or wine! Once we got to this restaurant, were we impressed!!! We love Mediterranean cuisine, and it was absolutely the right choice that night. It was pretty busy on a Wednesday night, which to us is always a good sign. Even though it was busy, we were able to seated right away. Also, the aromas of the food could be sensed as soon as you walk in. Oh, it smells so good throughout the restaurant! We ordered the hummus starter, and we just ate it up with our pita bread. I don't know what spices they mix in it, but it was just so tasty. Definitely recommend the hummus! For our meals, I ordered the salmon special with spicy potatoes; and my husband ordered the falafel entree with baba ghanoush. What I said about the hummus goes the same for the baba ghanoush. Seriously, it was the best tasting baba ghanoush ever. Our entrees didn't disappoint either. This restaurant definitely stands out and is a must when you're in Dublin! read more

How had I not heard of this place!? Also, no idea how I didn't realise that North African food is AMAZING. Excellent staff that are helpful and friendly. I went here on a Monday night, and the restaurant was relatively busy. I ordered steak, the hummus plate, and roasted potatoes (yes, this was all for me). I was obviously over-ambitious with my order, but the food was great. The steak was a little over cooked, but nevertheless, still yummy. For how much I ordered - the price was very reasonable around 40euros. The servers were really nice and kept me company (by choice) as this was a solo meal. I don't know when I'll be back in Dublin, but I would definitely go back. read more

Yummy ! I don't often give 5 stars, but when I do, 'Keshk'. This small restaurant just does perfectly what it's supposed to do, meaning : serving awesome, great mediterranean food. The place is clean and neat, even if I usually prefer places with a little more cachet. Anyway, just sit there and wait to be blown away. We were 2 and ordered the mezze and vegeterian falafel, to share. They are supposed to be starters but were more than enough for our starving stomachs. Well, how can I say that differently... ? It was simply delicious, one of the best mediterranean food I ever had. The falafel were crispy and tasty, the tahini and the hummus were really outstanding, tasty and handmade. We were having a bite of everything, going from "yummm" to "that's sooo good'". Everything was sophisticated, fresh and good. We had the barbecue mix another day, and again, it was really outstanding. I don't think I ever had such good marinated chicken, the sausage had a really interesting taste, and let me tell it that way: there was a shitload of meat in our plate! In addition, the cooking was perfect. Well, that's how you just show that you have 'savoir-faire'. It's BYOB, or BYOWine, and the dishes are pretty cheap (we pay usually between 12 and 15€ each). Really good vibe in this restaurant. Friendly staff and delicious food. I got prawns to start and the lamb mousaka for main. The mains come with either potatoes, rice or salad. The waitress suggested i get salad with my main as the mousaka is very filling, she was right I didn't even eat the salad as I had too much food. The mousaka was probably the best I've ever had. Plus it's BYOB so you can't go wrong! It was a little tight....the tables are very close together, but that's the only fault I can find. read more

Nice decor here. Not at all what I was expecting from a Lebanese restaurant. Chic middle eastern. And downstairs there's a whole other section. So they clearly can cater for big numbers. Lovely staff too. The mixed starter was a highlight, everything was delicious. I would definitely recommend that. The main was OK, Chilli Kafta. But I think we were so full after our starters, neither of us could make a dent on our main plate. We were given our leftovers in a doggy bag as we settled the bill. One low light was another customer who was loudly effing and blinding. Appeared to be a regular as he was chatting to a member of staff at one point. read more

I really wasn't looking forward to my first visit to Keshk... I wanted a steak... and chips... and well, not this quite frankly. Wifey and Junior listened to my objections, patted me on the head and pushed me in the door. I'm terribly glad they did. The food was excellent and varied and they have a BYOB with no corkage which meant a quick run down to Baggot St wines, which is always a treat. We had a couple of the mixed meat platters with a selection of Humus dips and flatbread... it was cracking! It wasn't expensive either and the staff are lovely. read more

This is probably my preferred Lebanese restaurant in town. The food was delicious, prices were OK, staff were lovely and service was very fast. The place is quite small so I recommend you to book in advance. I would prefer the tables a little bit far from each other - I was seating too close to a very impolite men who was being an asshole to his gf. Surprisingly good Mediterranean food in a BYOB/BYOW, Keshk Cafe and Restaurant is a really nice change of pace. I didn't fly 3,000 miles to Ireland to eat Mediterranean food, and yet with such good ratings and a hangry girlfriend, Keshk Cafe and Restaurant was a must visit. A small restaurant with a noisy downstairs when there is an event (try to sit away from that side door on the left), it prides itself as a BYOB/BYOW, with a very convenient liquor store a minute walk away. The place is also very vegetarian friendly if you're into that sort of thing. It's a little pricey for dinner (even with a good dollar exchange rate), but the quality of the food makes up for it. We started with an order of Dolma (€6.95) - stuffed vine leaves with basmati rice, parsley, onion, mixed spice and cooked in lemon juice and olive oil, topped with a touch of yoghurt.You only get four warm grape leaves with a small salad and dipping sauce, but what I had was really good - could've used two more and no salad. The two entrees were the Falafel (€16.95) - Deep fried balls of ground chick peas, tahini (sesame paste), garlic, onion, coriander and parsley, served with side salad and pitta bread, and the Moussaka (€16.95) - a Greek oven baked dish, composed of layers of potatoes and aubergines separated by tomato, garlic and vegetables, topped with a béchamel sauce. Both dishes hit it out of the park, with probably the falafel being my favorite - perfectly cooked with a creamy and delicious tahini/hummus. That's taking nothing away from the Moussaka, which was served piping hot and delicious. The meal hurt my wallet a bit, but Keshyk was one of my favorite meals in Ireland. If you're looking for a change of pace in an intimate space, definitely consider giving this place a try. read more

So unassuming, so underrated, SO. FRIKIN. GOOD. I had the Okra; didn't know what Okra was when I ordered it, but I did learn that it's bloody delicious in a tomato and garlic sauce. My friends got the lamb meatballs which were also very well received (might I mention they come laden in a nice tomato sauce, just how all meatballs should!) I tried the prawn special too and was really impressed by how big and fresh they were, no way had these bad boys come from a freezer. But the cherry on the top of my Keshk experience? Our waiter. I'll give you a visual: Imagine a man with a smile so bursting with enthusiasm and friendliness that you literally find it hard to concentrate on the specials he's listing off because you're so transfixed. What's more, his whole attitude was saturated with an eagerness to please and ensure that we were fully satisfied with our meals. Our whole table agreed that we'd happily overspend our lunch budget and buy deserts we didn't want if it meant we could further enjoy this particular waiter's delightful helpfulness, and of course catch another glimpse of those sparkling pearly whites...* *It must be said that all the other staff were very nice here too, but this one guy was just on a whole other level. read more

I've been here for lunch a number of times and it never disappoints. The menu seems to be mostly the same between lunch and dinner. The chicken, the lamb, the kafta, the moussaka, all are great dishes. The portions are the perfect size, just enough to fill you up. It can be very spicy at times but that's a welcome change on occasion. All of this and it's reasonably priced to boot! This is the first place my girlfriend and I went to eat in Dublin. After her late flight, we scoured Baggot and Mespil streets in the mid-afternoon looking for a restaurant and decided on Keshk. We were both pleasantly surprised. It has a warm modern decor and our waittress was very sweet and knowledgeable about the ingredients in the food. We started off with hummus and it was amazing... it's the best I've had outside the Middle East. We had the grilled lamb and kofta as our main dishes and they were both delicious. Delicious eats here, especially the falafels - yum! However, if you decide to give this spot a try, request a table at street level as the basement level is usually packed with groups / large parties and is extremely loud. (I could barely hear the person sitting across from me!) While Keshk has a tasty and reasonably priced pre-fixe menu, I recommend requesting to be seated in the main dining room or considering another spot if you're trying to book a larger dinner party. On the other hand, the street-level dining space is much nicer for parties of two to six peeps. But, the best part - besides the great food - is BYOB! Pick up some vino around the corner at Baggot Street Wines and enjoy it with your eats! read more

I came here for a Friday lunch - this place I definitely popular in the area - it stayed busy the whole time. I think it is most popular for lamb - and since I'm not a fan of lamb based dishes - I can't comment much here. I ordered the vegetarian moussaka and king prawns. THIS! For us (as a couple) this is the holy grail of dining. Halal and vegan options! Let me back up-got a little excited there. So, my boyfriend and I have been trying to go out to a nice dinner for an overdue anniversary celebration for over a month. Due to scheduling conflicts, travel, and life in general, we haven't had the chance. This brings us to yesterday; we realized we had a free evening together and decided we were FINALLY going on our dinner date. It was a Monday, so a lot of our go-tos were closed; this ended up being a good thing because it forced us to explore our options a bit further. So I started Yelping vegan options (the BF is not vegan but (obvs) súper vegan friendly AND, if there aren't halal options, he goes veg/vegan) and up popped this cute little cafe- Keshk. When I started reading the menu and exploring the details, I was stoked to find that it had both halal and vegan on the menu! And although they don't sell alcohol, you can take beer and wine without a corkage fee! I was sold! I called and made a reservation and we were set! The place itself is very adorably decorated with plum colored damask accent wall paper and gold ornaments. For a Monday at 8:30pm- it was POPPIN. The waitress said that if you try to come in on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday eve without a reservation, your chances of getting seated are slim to none. The staff was very friendly and accommodating- to say that no one laughed at my €3.99 wine (don't judge- it was the only white I had that was chilled) is proof that they are good souls. I ordered the falafel dinner and the bf ordered the prawns with a side of spicy potatoes. The food was excellent and the portions were HUGE! I brought half my dinner home. I decided to check out Keshk after seeing all of the great reviews on Yelp! We booked a table on a Tuesday night and were surprised to find the place very busy for mid-week (a good sign already!) I ordered the Chili Kaftas, and my partner the Lamb Chops. Both were absolutely delicious! The Chili Kaftas came in a wonderfully balanced and rich sauce with mediterranean vegetables in it, and the Lamb Chops were superbly presented. Keshk does not offer alcohol, but you can bring your own. We brought along a bottle of white wine, and they even provided us with an ice bucket to chill it. The food at Keshk was brilliant, and we will definitely be coming back in future, and recommending to others! The only reason this isn't a 5* review is because of the mixed service we received. We had separate waiters for ordering, delivering food, asking for desert and then payment. When we asked for the desert menu it quickly became clear that the waiter had forgotten about us, so we just ordered the bill. It didn't matter too much to us, because the food was just great, but maybe in future Keshk should allocate specific waiters to specific tables to mitigate any issues like this! The other evening I was really hungry and not in the mood to cook or get out of my sweats, so I yelped a place with takeout. To my delight, Keshk was one of the first restaurants to pop up. I love Mediterranean food, and Keshk did not disappoint. I got a grilled chicken breast that came with grilled vegetables, rice, and dolmades. Everything was delicious and they threw in a free piece of cake. I definitely plan on going back, especially since take away food is 10% off. I can't lose. read more

This place is great! It's a little neighborhood spot just off Baggot street and the canal. Living in the area, there aren't tons of good dining options, but this is a real find. Great middle eastern dishes and have never been disappointed. It's BYOB as well, so you can pick up a bottle of wine before hand at Baggot street wines. The last time i was there I ordered a turkish coffee and I was asking the waitress to ask the chef or who ever cooks there to make it properly as I never Had a proper turkish coffee in any restaurant in dublin, somehow the owner of the restaurant was sitting next to us and heard me talking, he came to me and told me that he will make the coffee for me and I wont be disappointed and he was right. read more
