I am recovering from my second (left side) Anterior hip replacement. My surgery was at the end of February 2026. I wanted to use my regular PT place SOS on Sparta Ave and I was saddened by the news that the SOS would be closing. They were terrific and helped me with my left knee and right hip replacement. I needed some assistance with how my left leg was feeling after the hip replacement. Since my left knee has minimal range of motion doing certain types of exercise is very cumbersome and difficult to do to the fullest capacity. In addition, I was still within my 3 month recovery period with restrictions of some movements.
I felt since I knew the routine from my other surgery I did not go to PT immediately. I was experiencing roving cramps and aches at unusual times, sitting, reading a book in bed, etc. This type of ache and pain was arbitrary on the outer left side of my left leg and my front shin, in addition those areas were as hard as a rock. I was healing from the surgery but my leg muscles were not happy and my Doctor advised that I go to PT for some Deep tissue treatment.
I started around April 21 at Kessler with Tyler Suruskie, DPT, and was very happy with his attitude and his guidance. On May 18th I was sidetracked to the manager, Matt, who informed me he was going to perform another evaluation. I thought that was strange and that he was a bit over the top as he talked constantly about his experiences, his surgeries', his recoveries his family how he and his wife (a doctor) were in the Military, his vacations with his kids rock climbing while he was recovering from one of his surgeries and on and on and on. I was not comfortable with him but did not protest and he proceeded to basically attribute my situation as my fault!!!
-He told me my hip is our of alinement because I don't have the proper posture when I sit.
-He told me my right leg is is shorter then my left leg and that is why I am having these pains.
-He then jostled me by twisting me to re-align my hip and it was fixed!
-He had me do some movements then held my ankles, did this a few times and WOW my leg was normal again.
Then POKED and Prodded my back and back side telling me THAT that is the area causing the problem, to say the least I was upset and getting mad at his delivery and rudeness all the while smiling.
When I left I want really upset. Then I returned on Wednesday to find out that my "CARE PLAN" was changed by Matt and he instructed Tyler to follow that plan as if Tyler was incompetent. So Tyler followed the instructions feeling awkward and then proceeded to question IF I was exercising at home? this came across as if he was instructed to question me. YES and we discussed it already, then he pressed on by asking how many days, and how long as If I were being interrogated. Tyler was being as nice as he could as he too was thrusted into this change by Matt the manager. I was also told they were going to reduce me to two times a week and soon will DISCHARGE ME! I didn't understand what was happening at that point, feeling insulted by the previous visit and being informed soon to be discharged as IF I was some type of fraud that I really didn't need to be here!! At that point I said discharge me after today and Tyler had to tell that he couldn't continue with new treatment as it wouldn't benefit me for the day.
I got up (disgusted) went to the front desk asked them to cancel the rest of my appointments and left. Upset, angry and confused AND still needed to figure out how to keep me in good health at home. i contacted the regional manager and continue to wait to hear from him on what happened.
I give Tyler a very positive grade/comment but felt the Matt the manager over extended himself in a rather aggressive way and his delivery was less than kind. if youmgo, you have to evalulate for yourselves read more
